Ground Control Applications

Note: Determine where these jacks will be mounted on your trailer. Use this system if there will be 20' or more between the center of the landing gear footpad and the center of the rear jack footpad. If your setup requires less than 20' between the jacks, use the 4-point Ground Control system (LC358590) instead.

Leveling your fifth-wheel RV has never been easier thanks to the Ground Control 3.0 electric leveling system. The motorized leveling legs eliminate the need for labor-intensive, manual scissor jacks. And the auto-level feature takes out the guesswork by automatically and precisely leveling your RV. Whether you use the easy-to-use touchpad or the touchscreen remote, all you have to do is step back and watch as Ground Control 3.0 levels your rig right before your eyes.

Automatic Leveling for Your 5th-Wheel RV

LCD Touch Screen

The auto-level feature provides the easiest, most efficient way to level your rig. With automatic leveling, you don't need to go through the trial and error of referencing levels and manipulating jacks one at a time. Just set the level position (zero-point) once, and the Ground Control 3.0 will bring your RV to that same preset point each time.

When first setting up the Ground Control 3.0 you will need to manually level your RV. With some leveling systems, manipulating the jacks individually can result in damage to your trailer's frame. Ground Control has built-in twist prevention so that you won't have to worry about twisting and damaging your frame.

In addition to automatically leveling your RV, the Ground Control 3.0 can also correctly position your trailer for hookup with the hitch recognition feature. This time-saving function stores your RV's position when you unhook from your tow vehicle so that it can automatically return the RV to that position when you're ready to hitch back up again.

Motorized Jacks with Hall Effect Technology

The 6 motorized jacks included with the Ground Control system employ Hall effect technology to precisely and quickly raise and lower your RV. These jacks use sensors to measure the number of motor revolutions per minute instead of amp draw. This allows for more precise control over the motor than you'd have with conventional motorized jacks, which results in more accurate leveling of your trailer.

Convenient Operation

Ground Control 3.0 offers 2 convenient ways to level your rig. Whether you use the touchpad or the touchscreen remote, setting up camp is at your fingertips.

Touchpad with Lighted LCD Screen

LCD Touch Pad

The included, easy-to-use touchpad makes leveling your RV as simple as pressing a few buttons. The lighted LCD screen provides helpful prompts and alerts you to the status of the system. There are also indicator lights that let you know what functions are being performed.

Touchscreen Remote

Touch Screen Remote

The included touchscreen remote features a convenient leveling app that lets you operate the Ground Control 3.0 system from up to 50' away. Just sync the remote to the touchpad during installation to ensure that the system is fully integrated. The remote is powered by a long-lasting, non-replaceable lithium-ion battery, and a convenient wall charger is included.

Installation

Upgrading your rig with the Ground Control 3.0 system is simple. The 2 landing gear jacks mount to existing points on your RV and secure with included hardware. The 4 rear jacks come with mounting brackets that bolt onto 8", 10", or 12" I-beam frames with included hardware. Mounting the rear jacks does require drilling. A sensor is also included for the rear jacks. This will be mounted on a crossmember near the rear jacks.

The control module for the system mounts in a compartment under the coach with included hardware. This module has a wiring harness that connects directly to your 12-volt battery. Wiring harnesses are also included that connect the jack motors, rear sensor, and the touchpad to the control module.

Let me say this to start, this system is AWESOME!! If you do not have a leveling system on your camper, this one works very , very well. I will say, the install and the learning curve takes time and is not too hard, but it's not super easy either. Once I got the system in place, and understood how to use it, the rest was a piece of cake.

Take your time on the install and get help. The parts are robust and heavy, so two people make it much easier. Have sharp drill bits to drill the attachment holes. Wiring is super simple, but take your time and make sure you get all the connections good and tight and secured well with zip ties.

The system requires a good strong battery, so make sure your battery is in great shape and you will not have any issues. Get the Lippert app also, it is very helpful.

I love it now, when I pull my 2006 Keystone Raptor 5th wheel toy hauler into a campsite, I hit a couple buttons and the longest it has taken to level my unit is 2 minutes and 30 seconds. I love it! It puts the camper at the same level every single time, which is awesome. No guessing, no driving up and down on blocks, just push a button and walk away until the camper is perfect. Would I do this over again you ask? Absolutely. Awesome system!

Still loving the system. The only issues I have ever had, is when I the unit off for service and someone does not turn off my main battery switch and they drain the batteries down, the system will not operate until you install a jumper box or charge the battery up to 12 volts or higher. Not a system flaw by any means, just something to be aware of. So far it has worked great. Id do it again in a heartbeat.

by:

After the initial installation there was a little confusion about setup I have been very happy with the way it works really simple push one button hit auto levels it's still working well thanks

by:

Very nice product. I have had it installed for about a year now.
I did the install myself. It was a little intensive but very doable. The problem I ran into war the torque specs for bracket mounting was off. They had it set for XXlbs on a 3/8 bolt.. after I broke my 3rd bolt, I looked up the standard torque spec for that size bolt and used that. Which was more like 30-40 lbs. but other than that I have been happy with the operation. Very easy to use much better than getting the blocks out to level.

by:

System straight forward to install with the cleat instruction manual provided. missing a couple of small nuts and bolts which I had anyway. Parcel was missing the remote control which etrailer was quick to send out (waiting for it now). I had a couple technical issues getting it setup but overall I am pleased with the levelling system.

by:

I love this leveling system and the support that Lippert gave me. I installed the jacks myself per the Lippert instructions. The only problem I had was that the self taping bolts would not self tap. I had to use an actual tap to put threads in my frame.
It is wonderful to push the auto level then step back & watch the system work. Then when it is time to leave the system brings the hitch to the perfect level for easy hook up. Very satisfied.

by:

good product just don't like how close to level you have to be before you use it

by:

Finally got time to install this. No instructions included but was pretty self explanatory. Only complaint was it did not come with the wireless remote but I’m sure they will take care of that. Hardest part was working upside down to drill multiple holes. Unit works great on our 38’ toy hauler and was easy to get operational.

by:

I ordered this 6 point leveling system to replace the 4 point landing gear/stabilizer system on our 38' 5th wheel.

The system installed easily with all wiring harnesses ran under enclosed underbelly and through support crossmembers.

If you currently have electric landing gear, this is actually quicker than OEM. It's also quicker than the previous version of Ground Control leveling.

I chose this over the hydraulic version because we only use our trailer a few times a year.
Having loaders/tractors, I know how hydraulic seals don't like to just sit and collect dust.

I have made several purchases through etrailer, and have yet to be disappointed.

Great products! Great packaging! Great service!
Thank you!

by:

Not quite the quality of the hydraulic system we had before but works great.

by:

System was easy to install and operates great. Levels the trailer quickly. Saves me time during set up and breakdown.

by:

The product was delivered as advertised. All of the parts and pieces are of very good quality. This is not a first time handy man install. I do all of my own repairs and this install took me 4 days not 4 hrs. The first day was spent removing the under belly. The second day was spent removing the existing front landing gear. The first two days of work had nothing related to this product. I had to cut the side molding out to accommodate the new middle stabilizers. Because of the size of my frame I need to grind the frame on all mounts so they fit securely. Self threading bolts are included but after no luck I bought a tap to tap the holes. I used newly purchased bolts on the areas I could drill through the frame and reach the other side with lock washers and nuts. Mounting the gear was straight forward with no issues. All of the wiring was well marked and correct length. The rest of the install went smooth with no issues. Be sure you understand the amount of work required to install this product on a used unit. If needed I would purchase and install this product on my next 5th wheel.

by:

Had the system installed and it works great. The one problem that I have is it came with a Remote Control to operate the system away from the trailer. However, the remote does not work and I'm being told the controller that came with the system does not support the Remote. If the system does not support the remote then way is it talked about on the web site and in the operating manual? Working with Lippert and etrailer to resolve this, but have not gotten a revaluation at this time.

You received the wrong remote. The manufacturer is sending out the correct one. I apologize for the inconvenience.

I purchase a auto leveling system for my 5th wheel trailer. Had a problem with one of my jacks. Called etrailer and they sent me the information to return the broken jack. Sent old jack in and had new one within two weeks. No hassle just fast pleasant dealings. etrailer will be my place to deal with from now on

Outstanding no problems highly recommended and E trailer for support on installation

by:

Great product. Being installed as I type. However the remote was not sent in the box at no fault of E trailer. It seems that it was left out of the boxes sent from Lippert. Notified Barry, sent a couple pictures and he said should be shipped in a couple days. Lippert 6 point ground control system.

Two Year Update: We have taken nearly 200 trips during the past two years and the jacks have worked flawlessly. Note: we have been to one park where we had to use leveling blocks under wheels & jacks in order for the leveling system to achieve success. This park had sites that were off level 6" or more side to side. The other 99% of the parks were able to level without blocks. Our setup and take down is SOOO much quicker and easier now. The leveling process is fairly quick. Typically, I can have the electric and water hooked up right about the time the autolevel process completes. The ease of use and productivity improvement are unmatched with this product.

Delivery from etrailer was as expected. The truck driver set the pallet in my garage. The installation process was straight forward and enabled me to "get to know" the underbelly area of my trailer a little better.

Very happy with this purchase and very confident purchasing from etrailer. There are lower cost options available but beware, if you have problems-Lippert will only acknowledge "authorized dealers". Best part: etrailer has direct contacts with Lippert techs and can get information/help you resolve issues fast.

by:

would have been nice for you to say a 50amp breaker is recommended.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention. We are having that information added to the product description.

Love the jack set up, a bit labor intensive to install but well worth it. I wish the jack control panel was more user friendly but I am sure the more I use it the easier it will get.
5 stars for the jacks and etrailer, 3 stars for the control panel programming.
Thanks etrailer , you are the best!!!

A year later and I love it!!! makes leveling the Toy hauler so easy and fast. I can even lift both axles off the ground for maintenance, ect... Thanks again etrailer.

by:

Excellent product. I have a 37 foot fifth wheel that I installed the six point system on myself without help.
I was initially concerned with all the parts under the 3 pop outs as well as gas lines and electrical , that may interfere with bracket install.
The way the brackets are coped they slid right up along the web the beam and still have clearance for the pop out shaft to rotate. No need to worry about not having enough electrical as plenty is supplied in with 37 feet I had at least 8 feet left over. The product went in easy ,but it is labor-intensive as you are working on your back. I recommend using a creeper so you can roll on your back from point to point as you put it together.
Very happy with the product.

by:

I installed this with my son and son-in-laws help.
The hardest part was fishing the wiring through the underbelly and that wasn't that bad.
Everything worked first try; after reading the entire manual. The manual included all information need though I questioned the organization of the information. Take the time to read it entirely before proceeding.
i have been using this for over a year now and it has worked flawlessly.
I would recommend this without reservation.

Best review I can give is that I would do it all over again. Love it.

by:

A MUST HAVE
This was a wonderful purchase.
Install
was decent. We decided to weld the main bracket to the chassis frame and then bolt the cylinders to the brackets.
It is so nice to simply detach from truck and it remember the height of reconnect, and to press one button "AUTO LEVEL" is amazing and then let it do it's thing.
Made our 34' Montana FW so solid !!

by:

it took couple days to install by myself, the self tap screws gave a bit of trouble but worked through it. had to modify one bracket to fit around slid out rod. wiring was straight forward.
operation is twice as fast as old system. easy to follow install and operation instruction.
like the auto setup and return to hitch reload.

by:

I love the system , nice just to back in unhook and hit the button 2 min. later all done .
The installation was not that bad , read the instructions first a lot easier if you do that first .

by:

The install took most of one day. I took it slow to be sure it was correct.
It has worked every time I used it. The only negative is that it seems to raise the trailer 2 to 3 inches higher than manual leveling.

by:

Installation was simple everything was plug and play as far as wiring goes. At first I was nervous about how low they hang down, at only 8” off the ground, but it’s been a year and I haven’t hooked them on anything so far. Leveling the 37ft rv is a breeze, and the rehook memory is really nice as well.

by:

Easy to install and operate. One of my best purchases to date for my 5th wheel.

The included video is almost 30 minutes and is very detailed. It walks you through the entire installation process for the Lippert Ground Control # LC675817 leveling system.
