Use this corrosion-resistant actuator to synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow-vehicle brakes. Over-center latch mechanism only engages when the actuator is fully seated on 2" hitch ball. Designed for hydraulic disc brake applications.

Features:

  • Hydraulic actuator activates trailer's brakes when tow vehicle slows or stops
  • Electric reverse lockout lets you back up without actuating trailer brakes
    • Solenoid activates automatically when you shift into reverse
  • Low-profile coupler latch ensures easy, secure connection
    • Over-center latch mechanism only engages when the actuator is fully seated on hitch ball
  • Aluminum master cylinder is better at reducing corrosion than cast steel master cylinders
  • Zinc plating offers excellent corrosion resistance
  • Bolt-on installation
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Application: hydraulic disc brakes
  • Ball size: 2"
  • Mounting holes positioned 3/4" down
  • Capacity: 7,500 lbs
  • 2-Year limited warranty

When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

Pros.

Works great really noticed
the difference right away.

Ed W. with etrailer was great to work with helped determine which one to get.

It was a fairly simple install.

Con.

The reverse lockout was further away than my original, just a little, so my brake line was too short.

Auto parts places didn't have a flex that fit the thread. I was doing this on a Sunday so I had to drive across town to a trailer guy who was open for a flex line.

I would give it 4.7 stars if I could would of gave a 5 star had they included a short flex line with the kit.

It's about a 2 hour job with everything you need I spent an extra 2+hours getting a part.

All in all been using for a year and I am completely satisfied.

The product is as expected and an exact replacement for my trailer. The exceptional part of the transaction was the speed my order was filled and shipped.

by:

Ordered brake actuator from Etrailer after several attempts from EZTrailee with no response. Wished I had checked out Etrailer sooner. Received notification at each billing, shipping.
It was easy to find the parts got fast shipping with working brakes now, can enjoy the boat again. This is the third trailer you helped me repair with correct parts, fast shipping
Many thanks guys

Very sturdy material and well made. Works as designed and the electrical lock out for disc brakes is very useful.

Manual lock out lever key could be magnetized to avoid falling off.

by:

It was a direct replacement and worked flawlessly. Thanks

by:

Exact replacement for my 2013 ezloader and a upgrade

by:

E trailer is the best. I have bought dozens of items from them an it was always a great experience. Customer service is the best.

by:

The product came unboxed, missing instructions and no spare break away clips. I purchased a new actuator and got one that was laying around.

by:

The manual lockout device, supplied with the actuator, requires a second person to hold it in place when backing. It will not stay in place on its own.

by:

This product doesn’t fit over 3” tongue. Its the exact same size as a 3” tongue.Unusable. Had to remove the internal portion and modify my trailer tongue to fit. Arrived as the worst packaged item I’ve ever received. It was barely still in the box. Whom ever packaged this didn’t have a clue what they were doing.

by:

on time fast delivery and fit as promis ed

  • Replacement Coupler for 2007 Mastercraft X15 Boat Trailer
The Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator part # DX89FR for disc or part # DX33FR for drum will work to replace the surge coupler of your Mastercraft boat trailer. I looked up your trailer and was not able to determine if it had disc or drum brakes which is why I listed both options.

  • Replacement Actuator for EZ Loader Tandem Axle Trailer With Disc Brakes
It sounds like you have a UFP A-60 brake actuator on your EZ Loader trailer. The # T43397007K is designed for drum brakes so this would not be a suitable replacement. Instead, I recommend the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7.5K # DX89FR. This is a direct replacement for a UFP Model A-60 actuator like the one you have now.

  • Replacement for ACT-7.5K Actuator on Mastercraft Boat Trailer
For a replacement option I recommend the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout # DX89FR. Any swing-away actuators like your ACT-7.5K have been discontinued so this is the best solution. This has a 7,500 lb trailer capacity, is designed for trailers with disc brakes, and is a bolt on replacement. More than likely you will also need a replacement swing away tongue adapter like the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 3" x 4" Tongue # FHDPB340301 which fits 3" x 4" diameter...

  • Replacement For A Reliable ACT 7.5 KS Brake Actuator
At this time we do not carry a compatible inner member for your Reliable ACT 7.5 KS actuator so I recommend replacing it with the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout # DX89FR. This hydraulic actuator activates trailer's brakes when tow vehicle slows or stops and electric reverse lockout lets you back up without actuating trailer brakes.

These will have similar bolt patterns as your Tie Down Engineering LP7000 actuator. These are designed to fit a 3" wide by 4" tall trailer tongue. • Does The Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout Have A Manual Lockout Option
The Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout # DX89FR unfortunately doesn't have a manual lockout option so you wouldn't be able to reverse without activating the brakes on the trailer. To solve this issue you can either install 5-pole wiring on each tow vehicle to connect to the electric lockout or you can swap out the brakes on the trailer to free-backing brake assemblies. If you didn't hook up the electric lockout solenoid then you wouldn't be able to reverse with the trailer...

  • Replacement Actuator for a Model ACT-7.5K
While we do not carry replacement parts for the Model ACT-7.5K actuator, I can recommend a replacement actuator. It's the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout, part # DX89FR. It has a 2" ball coupler and designed for hydraulic disc brakes. The electric reverse lockout lets you back up without actuating the trailer brakes. It's low-profile and corrosion-resistant. I've linked to a video review of this actuator for you to look at.

  • Can Inner Slide Member be Replaced on UFP A-60 Actuator to Upgrade from Drum to Disc Brakes
I do have an option for you but we wouldn't be able to provide a new inner slide member for the UFP A-60 Brake Actuator to convert this from drum to disc, it would need to be replaced in its entirely as it's simply too old. I recommend the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator part # DX89FR which will be a great fairly bolt-on swap for your existing actuator and it's rated for disc brakes so it allows you to upgrade for better stopping power.

  • How Many Bolt Holes Should Dexter Coupler Actuator DX89FR Use to Install
If you don't mind drilling Jeremy I would recommend using all three mounting holes of the Dexter Actuator part # DX89FR or if you know a welder just have them weld it to the trailer. If you were going to only use two though use whichever two line up best with the coupler slid as far onto the trailer frame as possible if that makes sense. In terms of capability the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7.5K # DX89FR is a good replacement option. The problem is the design of your old TDE LP7000 which was installed inside the tongue of the trailer. The # DX89FR and others like it fit standard 3" wide trailer tongues. • How to Replace Tie Down Engineering LP7000 Actuator
I'm guessing it is approximately 3-3/8" across if you measured it. Unfortunately there are no options that will slide in because it won't line up correctly, and everything is designed to fit a 3" tongue so it is too wide to mount an actuator on top. Although it is not ideal, the only solution is to cut that off and replace the tongue with a standard 3" trailer tongue. Once you have a 3" wide trailer tongue you will be able to install an actuator like the # DX89FR you were looking at.
