Hand winch strap with a safety hook.
Features:
Specs:
Note: Winch straps should always be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The item being towed must not exceed the WLL of the strap being used. To determine the maximum load, or break strength, of the tow strap, simply multiply the WLL by 3. The WLL is always one-third (1/3) of the maximum load.

Zach: Hey everybody, Zach here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at a replacement winch strap from Dutton-Lainson. This is going to be ideal if you've worn out or damaged your boat winch strap. And this is going to be a two inch by 25 foot in length. So it's pretty decent length and is pretty standard size when it comes to that width. Now, this isn't just for Dutton-Lainson winches.
This can also go on other winches. I have it on a Fulton F2 on here today, so it's a really nice way to swap one out and it's got a good material to it. I'm going to loosen this up just a little bit. You can see there, this is a lot like a seatbelt material. It's slick, so I think it's going to do a good job of wrapping around itself.
I don't think it's going to get hung up on anything. Now, when we take a look at the hook on the end of it, it's a pretty standard hook. It seems a little small. It's not like you need something that's really large. If you're in this size strap you're not looking for anything that's really large, but it seems to operate okay. I've tested out some Fulton replacement straps.
I personally like those hooks a little bit better. They look very similar. They just seem to be a little larger, operate a little bit smoother. But overall, this is still going to be a really nice setup for you. It has a working load limit of 2,600 pounds, so that is a pretty good capacity.
That is larger than this boat. It's definitely okay to be safe with that. Now that working load limit, when I say 2,600 pounds, you've got to remember your boat is in the water. This isn't a dry pull weight. You don't want to exceed that. And if your boat does weigh a little bit more than that, it's okay because that water is helping you out with that. But when it comes to keeping it secured to your trailer, you have a few other straps in places as well so they're all working together to make sure that you have that strapped down properly. Overall, it's pretty easy to swap out. All I had to do was for this one I took the lid off just to access down in the winch. But if you have an exposed winch, usually it's just a bolt that runs through it and it's held in place with a nut. Now this does come with a couple different bolts to fit that need. If you have a center cross pin like this style, it will also work with that loop end.Let's just walk you through how we got this one put in place. To get these swapped out, first, you need to extend out your old worn out strap. And with this Fulton winch here today, this one's a little bit different than some. The way this one works is this is held in place with this loop end with that pin there. So it's just a loose pin that locks itself in place to that center section. Some winches have a bolt nut, and that's where that included bolt and nut will come in handy. I'm going to set this one aside and get my new winch strap ready. And then we can take the new strap and we're going to do the opposite. So we're just going to feed it through there. And I'm going to use that pin again. This is when you would just put that bolt and nut in place, and then you just pull it until it gets tight there and we can start ratcheting it back up. Then when we get to the end, we can get that hook in place on our bow eye there and take out the rest of that slack. Now, the first time you put this on, if you don't have any tension in place, the strap will be loose sitting on itself. So you'll want to make sure that you're getting all that out of there.Let it pull on itself a little bit, and we'll be good to go. You can see that one wasn't too difficult of an installation, even for having a different brand of winch like this Fulton one. So whether you have a Dutton-Lainson winch or a Fulton or another brand, this is going to be a really good replacement and especially if you're looking for something with a little bit higher capacity. But that's going to do it for our look at the Dutton-Lainson Replacement Strap for winches..

Hand winch strap with a safety hook.great service as always and the color of straps I was expecting!
thanks George!
Very pleased with my order and shipping was lightning fast.
Arrived well packaged and on time. Great product
It 5’ longer than the stock strap / same quality …just what I needed to haul my car onto the trailer
I used it to make a door lift with the wench I got from you and both work great I used a drill on the wench it will open and close and also hold it open when needed fast shipping and great products
Shipment came 3 days after ordered! I expected on average 10 days.
The Dutton-Lainson Winch is sooo far superior to the winch provided by the trailer manufacturer. I have a 20 ft. tunnel hull bay boat. Tunnel Hull boats are very difficult to maneuver at low trailer loading speeds. The 25 ft. strap allows me to back the trailer in the launch, pull the strap to the boat hook, and reel in. The two speed winch makes this very easy and fast. This set-up prevents damaging the boat by misalignment with the trailer bunks and shallow guides. Great Service with a Great Price!
As usual eTrailer products ship quickly and are high quality.
Installed on boat trailer stored in British Columbia, easy install, works fine, quite happy. Tks

Havent seen it for a year since I put it in the barn last Sept. Worked fine then, thankyou
I installed & used the 2 speed winch. It works easily to which up a 18" boat with a 115 HP engine. I am happy with it.

OK but I like to use the brake as a damper for launching, but as it is steel to steel it chatters. I am going to replace the hub with brass, I am disappointed that you didnt offer that option.
High quality strap fits snugly in the w inch.
I ordered the 25 foot strap on two separate occasions and spoke to "customer service" each time and BOTH times they sent a 15 foot strap. No apologies, lag time in refund, having to ship back their mistakes, no thanks. I look for usa made products on other sites now.
Fit on the winch in place of rope worked out great

still works like the day I installed it
The winch strap was as advertised - great product at a fair price.
One thing tho' - the nut on the attachment bolt was not a lock nut
which is what the winch instructions called for. Otherwise it was fine.
Product looks good but shipping packaging was very very poor. All items just thrown in a cardboard box with clear plastic wrapping. No pride in product shipped. Cannot give more than 2 stars because of the packaging.
Great winch. Bolted right on my 1985 Shorelander trailer with no modification. It has been on my trailer for one year outside in all Ohio weather and still looks and operates like brand new.
Strap placed on Fulton 2 speed 2600. Loaded onto to winch easily.
I had trouble finding the correct replacement for my winch. They were all too thick and couldnt get enough strap on the reel. However these were the same as the original equipment and worked great.
Perfect pairing for my dutton-lainson w inch
Good quality strap and hook, great service from eTrailer!
The strap was perfect for replacing the strap on my winch. The strap was delivered quickly and was excellent quality.
These straps are the perfect answer to my winch situation and fit my winch as specified. The buying process was perfect and came earlier than expected.
Great service !!
Excellent product and as usual, the delivery time was great!
Wow! I gonna be honest, I'm not the best at turning wrenches. I was able to order everything for my trailor easily. Then it was delivered like fast.
Nice stitching on the ends and made in the USA.
Good quality, easy to install, great web site with very descriptive videos
