Replacement For The Shelby Model 5407B Hand Winch

Question:

I have a Shelby Model 5407B hand winch and the gears have worn down. I know they are no longer in business, so I was looking to replace it. I am using it on a hay buggy for big round bales of hay. what would be a good replacement to be able to do the job?

I recommend part # DL14627 which is a Dutton-Lainson winch rated for 1,800 pounds to replace your 1,700 lb Shelby 5407B winch. The drum can handle up to a 9/32" x 58' cable or a 38' strap, is made in the USA, and comes with a 5-year limited warranty. This winch features permanently lubricated bearings, high carbon steel gears, and a Zinc TUFFPLATE finish for corrosion resistance. Finally it also bolts onto the same mounting bracket as your existing winch, making for easy installation.

If you also compatible cable I recommend part # DL24045 and for a strap I recommend part # DL24249. Included are some video resources for additional information.
