Note: To ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs.

Leaf springs are an integral part of your trailer suspension system. The leaf springs provide the attachment points for your trailer's axle, suspending it from the frame of your trailer. Each spring flexes to absorb road shock as you travel, allowing the axle to move somewhat independently of the rest of your trailer. This helps to reduce wear and tear on the trailer and also ensures a smooth ride.

Slipper leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. The eye of this spring will attach to the front hanger with a suspension bolt. The flat slipper end of the spring will slide into the rear hanger. If you have a tandem- or triple-axle trailer, the slipper end will slide into the equalizer that connects multiple springs. The shape of the slipper end of a leaf spring may vary slightly due to differences among trailer manufacturers. Because of this, it's important to check your leaf spring's slipper end before purchasing a replacement spring.

To mount this spring, you will need hangers, a suspension bolt, and possibly a spring keeper bolt, depending on the design of the rear hanger. If you are simply replacing a spring, you may still have hangers welded onto your trailer, but it would be wise to replace the bolts as they can experience wear. It is also recommended that you replace the other leaf spring in your setup at the same time. Because springs can sag and elongate as they wear, this new spring may not exactly match the old one, and the alignment of your trailer could be affected.

If you are fabricating a trailer, you will need to purchase a hanger kit for installation. To determine the type of hanger kit that you need, you must know the specific type of leaf spring that you have, as well as your axle capacity. Depending on the hanger kits used with them, springs can be configured to work for single-, tandem- or triple-axle applications. Hangers and other suspension components can also be purchased separately if there isn't a complete kit that works for your setup.

The leaf springs were a perfect replacement for what we needed and so were the trailer lights. Appreciate the notification of one of the items not being in stock and a substitute provided. However, the original item came available and was shipped in a timely manner.

I ordered my axle kit and received it 30 days later, I expected it in a week. The hubs, U-bolt kit, springs and grease were shipping in a box, when I receive it the heavy parts had smashed the grease tube, and was quite the mess in the box. The U-bolt kit I ordered as suggested by etrailer was the wrong kit and the bolts were short (their system did not suggest the right kit for the thicker springs). I see there is a kit I could have ordered with longer bolts. When I went to tighten the lug bolts on the new hub I received, one bolt started to pull through the hub. I reported the grease problem to etrailer, they could not care less, so I thought it would not be worth my time to report the other issues. I guess I will purchase new u-bolts, grease, and perhaps a hub somewhere else.

  • Do You Have To Replace Trailer Slipper Springs With The Same Amount of Leaves On The Spring?
You can replace your 2 leaf slipper spring for a 4-Leaf Slipper Spring # e69SR as long as it matches the size your trailer requires and you replace all of the springs on your trailer. This spring is 1-3/4" wide, 24-5/8" long and has a radius end. It has a weight rating of 1,000lbs for a 2,000lb axle capacity. You will find on springs with more leaves that the suspension moves easier and they tend to not bounce as much as trailers with less spring leaves.

  • Spring Compression for the etrailer 4-Leaf Slipper Spring While Under a 1,000 lb Load
The 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # e69SR should be compressed ~2" under a 1,000 lb load which would make the "F" measurement ~1 3/4" with the 1,000 lb load. This is based on a formula to find spring compression since we don't actually have that info at hand so take it with a grain of salt.

  • Upgraded Replacement Leaf Springs for Malone Microsport Trailer
The correct replacement leaf springs for a Malone MicroSport Trailer part # MPG460G are the 2-Leaf Slipper Springs part # e36SR. These will be a direct fit replacement for the old springs. They are slipper springs with a 500 lb weight capacity that measure 24-5/8" long. That said, if you want to upgrade to a higher capacity, the 4-Leaf Slipper Springs part # e69SR are a fit as well.

  • Replacement Slipper Spring for Motorcycle Trailer
A spring like the # e69SR you looked at may work if you have a 2,000 lb axle but you will need to know your axle capacity to be sure. The diameter of a square axle can't be used to determine capacity so I would look for an axle tag or check with the trailer manufacturer. To account for flattening of the leaf spring I would measure the flat length which is outlined in the help article below. The # e69SR has a flat length of 26-1/2" which isn't far off from your 26-3/4".

  • Replacement Slipper Spring For a Boat Trailer With 4-Leaf Spring 25.5" Long
The closest size we have to a 25.5" slipper spring is 24-5/8". Do understand that this may be the correct size for your application since as leaf springs sag and get flatter they also get longer in length. Also the amount of leaves a spring uses does not always account for the weight they can carry so be sure to check your boat trailers axle capacity and match it to the correct springs. 2-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 1,000-lb Trailer Axles # e36SR 3-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius...

  • 1995 Coleman Utah Replacement Leaf Springs Needed
The most I was able to find about the Coleman 4735CC201 leaf spring is that it's rated for 1,000 lbs which means it goes to a 2,000 lb axle. For that application we have the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End # e69SR which measures 25-4/8" long from the center of the eye to the end of the spring itself. If you use a jack to raise your trailer by the frame you will be able to get under the trailer to measure the leaf spring without it being compressed and compare that to our length. Something...

  • Replacement 4-Leaf Slipper Spring Measuring 25" Long
It can be a flat end as long as the flat part is long enough that it can reach past the wet bolt just fine. For your application it looks like the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # e69SR is the closest that we have as it's a 4-leaf slipper spring with a radius end rated for 2K trailer axles. The only catch is that it measures 24-5/8" from the center of the eye to the very end of the spring. Since the length is only off by 3/8" though this might still be...

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement For Sagging Trailer Leaf Springs
It's pretty easy to determine the correct replacement leaf springs for your trailers, and there's different ways for double-eye springs and slipper springs. You do have to account for the sag, so go with ones that measure shorter than what you currently have. There is't a formula for this but a good rule for springs that have really sagged a lot is about 1/2" or so shorter. Then for double-eye springs all you need to do is measure your current leaf springs from center-to-center of the...
