Hanger Spacing Dimensions for Installing Slipper Springs on a Boat Trailer
Question:
I am converting my single axle boat trailer from double eye springs to slipper springs. I have removed the old hangers and am going to weld on new ones for the slipper springs. My question is, where should the rear slipper spring hanger be on the rear curve of the slipper spring? On the top of the curve or forward or aft of the top of the curve?

When determining the hanger spacing for a slipper spring you want to go with the dimensions that the hanger kit calls for.
For example if you were using the slipper spring hanger kit part # APS3SE with the # SP-177275
you would want a distance of 22-11/16" inches between the hangers measured on center. This would put the hanger right at the beginning of the curve on the spring.
