It's a drop hitch not much to say, exactly what i ordered, and fast shipping.

by:

Basically I bought this ball-mount after I installed the low-slung hitch receiver from ETRAILER to know I have an ability to haul something if really needed in an emergency situation. The receiver hitch was purchased for my Thule bicycle rack , purchased from Etrailer.

by:

Perfect fit for our boat / car.

by:

The drop hitch worked perfectly with the front hitch receiver to locate the ball at the perfect height. Parking a trailer in a tight location is easy using the front hitch.

by:

Awesome drop ball mount. The price was right and they shipped it to me quickly. Couldn't be happier with the service. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

by:

Works as advertised, owned and used weekly for over a year. Would highly recommend.

by:

This is a product I could not find anywhere else with this much drop.
It arrived swiftly and is a high quality hitch at a very good price.

by:

Inexpensive. Does the job for a small yard trailer. Do not use often enough to justify cost of an alloy one for less weight. If you are fitting and removing your unit to the tow vehicle on a regular basis then you probably will be happier with the alloy drop hitch which is way lighter but more $.

by:

Had to get a 12" drop hitch to pull a very low-sitting trailer. Etrailer came through yet again! Picked up this hitch, ball mount, and factory wiring harness and they fit my needs to a T. Just what I needed, and had no issues putting anything together or hauling the tiny trailer.

by:

Great products and wonderful service!

by:

Best $30 ball mount I ever bought. Needed a huge drop because my Ram2500 is lifted 6 inches. This mount allowed my jet ski trailer to be close to level...Etrailer is a wonderful company I buy all my trailering needs through them. I wish I could say the same for their shipper UPS who it took a week for them to get me my package even know I paid for fast shipping. They explained the package was temporarily lost.. I eventually did get my package..

by:

I installed a 4" lift on my Jeep and needed a longer hitch receiver. After searching the Internet I came across eTrailer and they just what I needed. Great service and super fast shipping. Couldn't be happier with the hitch mount and the excellent customer service.

by:

product shipped very fast. Was actually called and had my order changed by Etrailer staff to save me @ $30 in shipping fees since I needed the Item by a specific date.

Still good to go!

by:

Have not had the opportunity to actually tow but this 11" drop puts my towbar almost level, the 12" drop would have been better however, I felt event that 1 inch more could cause problems with dips in driveway. what I liked was I did not lose weight capacity with this hitch

by:

Excellent because it's the exact right height for my Tahoe's high hitch to get my utility trailer to ride level. Build quality was great, and delivery fast.

by:

This drop hitch is being used on a 3/4 ton ram 4x4 that had 24" from the hitch to the ground and will be pulling a small boat trailer thats only 13" off the ground. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but is very heavy duty and well made. E- trailer staff was great and shipping was fast.

by:

Works well and as advertised

by:

Attached are the before and after photos of my truck/trailer after installing the 11" drop trailer hitch. As you can see there is a big difference in the drop which puts the trailer parallel to the ground. I can't wait to load it and see how it maneuvers going down the road at 55 mph.

by:

This is a great hitch. Is exactly as it was shown to be. I have a receiver on the front of my vehicle and needed the ball to be higher so I am using this upside down from normal. It works perfectly for me .

by:

I recently purchased a boat & trailer that required a drop hitch to level the trailer. I found exactly what I needed on etrailer.com and made the purchase. The product received was exactly what I needed and the website was easy to use and very informative. The product was shipped immediately and the company followed up on the shipment to ensure that it was delivered. I am very pleased with the products purchased and service provided.

by:

I needed an 11 inch drop hitch and it turned out very hard to find, as soon as I found etrailers I found the one I needed very quickly, ordered it & it was at my house within 2 days, now I am pulling a trailer (level). I also messed up my shipping address during the online order, I called in and talked with a real person and they straightened the order out for me. I would recommend etrailer for all your trailer & towering needs.

by:

Fast shipping and product is as it should be. Works wonderfully.

by:

Is a great product will buy a thing I need for my trailers from etrailer.com

Product is awesome love etrailer.com

by:

Works as advertised. Best if combined with a "quiet-hitch" type mechanism to reduce the extra play in the system if it's just slid into place and held there with the hitch pin.

  • Can a Front-Mount Hitch and Adapter be Used to Push a Trailer Into Tight Spots?
You certainly aren't alone having a bit of trouble backing up a long trailer. Using a front-mounted hitch is fine, but the Blue Ox adapter, # BX88132, is designed for flat-towing so it isn't going to work for you. What you can do instead is attach a fixed ball mount, and the Draw-Tite # 80248 is going to give you 9-3/4" of rise. Please keep in mind that the Draw-Tite has has a max gross towing weight (GTW) of 3,500 lbs and max tongue weight (TW) of 350 lbs in the rise position. If you...

  • Best Fixed Ball Mount Option for Motorhome and Tow Dolly Compatibility with 10-11 Inch Drop
The Draw-Tite Ball Mount - 9-3/4" Rise, 11" Drop - 9" Long - 3,500 to 5,000 lbs # 80248 will bring your hitch height to 14 or 15 inches to match your tow dolly. The ball mount is rated for up to 5,000 lbs n the drop position so you simply need to use a hitch ball rated for 3,750 lbs or more. I recommend the 2 inch ball # 63845 or the 2-5/16 inch ball # 63847 depending on which matches your coupler. Both are rated for 7,500 lbs so they will work well. The Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount...

  • Long Ball Mount With 10 Inches of Rise for 2 Inch Trailer Hitch
There is one ball mount that meets your criteria for 10 inches of rise as well as more than 7 inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the hitch ball: - Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 80248 This ball mount will give you 9-3/4 inches of rise (that 1/4 inch is not a factor; you just need to be within an inch or so of level) and measures from 9 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball. For a hitch ball, depending on your trailer's coupler you will need...

  • Ball Mount for 2016 Ford Fusion
Assuming you are in that 9-10" range you can use the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 80248. This has a 9-3/4" rise and a gross towing weight of 3,500 lbs which would be perfect for your trailer. You will also need # C40002 for a 1-7/8" ball or # 63845 for a 2" ball. Just to be sure, I'm going to run through the process to measure for rise/drop. The first thing you need to measure is the hitch height. With the tow vehicle parked on level ground, measure from the ground to the top of your hitch...

For the height off the ground we measure from the top inside of the receiver tube to the ground. Then for a ball mount it sounds like you have an 8 inch rise which isn't quite tall enough. We have a couple of taller fixed mount options in the Draw-Tite Ball Mount - 9-3/4" Rise # 80248 and the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 10-3/4" Rise # AMSC12 but that still won't get you to the exact height needed. • Can Hitch Extender be Used with Ball Mount to Clear Rear Bumper
A hitch extension like the Curt # C45791 can be used to gain the bumper clearance needed for the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 80248 that you mentioned but there is an important thing to keep in mind when using this or any other adapter. When the adapter/extension is in place your trailer hitch capacity will be reduced by 50 percent. This just means if the hitch on your Odyssey has a 3,500 pound towing capacity and a 350 pound tongue weight capacity these limits will be reduced to 1,750 and 175...

I contacted my tech contact at Curt and the distance from the hitch pin hole on the Curt # C13269 hitch to the bumper is 4-1/2". The center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the gusset on the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 80248 is 5-3/4" which means this ball mount sticks out enough to where it will not hit the bumper on your 2016 Jeep Renegade in the rise or drop position. • Recommended Ball Mount with 9-1/2 inch Rise
Between the two ball mount options referenced in your question, I recommend going with the Convert-A-Ball # AMSC12 that has the larger 10-3/4 inch rise. This is because when loading your tow vehicle up for a trip with your trailer, there is bound to be some rear sag that will lower the ball mount even further. Choosing a ball mount with a slightly higher rise than you need will help to account for this. Another option you may consider is the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 80248 that has a 9-3/4...

I really cannot recommend using any of the High-Low adapters for anything other than flat towing a vehicle, even if it could work. But it sound like a ball mount with the proper rise is the ideal solution. The ball mount we have with the most rise is # AMSC12. It has 10-3/4 inches rise.
