Good, very solid ball mount with just the extra rise I needed, 2 3/4", to get level trailer and good clearance for the trailer jack.
But excessive shipping charges from etrailer, $[XX] for an $[XX] purchase. Found out to my cost later that [online vendor] would have shipped for free.

by:

As a full-time RVer, e-shopping is very important for us. etrailer was the right place to shop. Right product, delivered on-time for a great price. You beat the local discount RV store by $25 including shipping. At the same time, I had another outfit send me a clearly inferior product to the one they displayed. Said they would e-mail a pre-paid shipping label for the return (didn't) and tried to put the blame on Amazon.
Thanks etrailer for a great experience !

Does take some of the shock out of pulling my wagon I use to mice corn!

by:

Already own one of these ball mounts and it is excellent. Got a new vehicle and needed a drop hitch/ball mount to tow a trailer correctly.

I love the product. I already had or own an ball mount and the convert a ball setup. That is the reason I purchase another one but with the four inch . I have and will to continue to recommend the product.

by:

We used this on our 2012 Sienna AWD to pull the largest single axle closed top U-Haul trailer to move furniture and bikes 400 miles through the mountains of PA, WV, and VA with no trouble. I noticed less jerking from the hitch being transferred to our van than the last time I towed a trailer like this (though that was with a large sedan). Easy to install and seemed to have decent tolerances in regards to fit and finish. Definitely increased my confidence in towing with a light duty vehicle.

by:

Everything arrived and was in good shape. The cushioned hitch worked really well as I use it to pull a parade wagon with a bunch of musicians on it. The previous hitch bounced enough that they complained about it. This hitch does a good job of dampening the start and stops. Everyone's happy and the music goes on!

Still works well and the music continues.

by:

Nice product, would definitely recommend if you do a lot of towing.

by:

purchase to tow motorcycle on vac. this ball mount is built very well. it stopped the bounce on section lines in the road. also works well with brake controller. does not affect backing. stopped metal bang at startup.the only concern about the reciever stem doesn't seem to go as deep into the reciever. its still secure just sticks out further

by:

These cushioned ball mounts are awesolutely awesome. I don't even know my trailer is behind the truck unless I look. They eliminate all the slamming and jerking of your tow vehicle you get with a regular hitch. I sold all my regular hitches and only run with cushioned ball mount hitches. I have the 2" and 4" drop mounts. I won't hesitate to buy a 6" or 8" drop cushioned ball mount should I ever need one. Do your tow vehicle a big favor and get one of these. You'll be glad you did too......

by:

This is my second bar with shock absorber I've purchased from etrailer - I really like how they function especially when stopping and starting .

Chaz S.

8/25/2018

Still working well. No issues. I do need to unload my older one that is to much of a for the f150. Thinking Craigs list or something.

by:

Will never buy another hitch without the cushion. It saves wear on the transmission jarring, and greatly smooth's out the ride. I actually will be ordering more for pulling wagons on the farm, as this one it ordered is set-up for the trailers with 2-5/16" ball.

Definitely would recommend to anyone who pulls a trailer.

by:

I am using the convert-a-ball with a 2 5/16 ball to pull a tilt bed car trailer. The 4 in. drop levels the trailer to perfect. There are no sharp jolts loaded or empty because of the cushioning effect. Great product.

by:

Would not tow without one. I have overloaded on private property numerous times, and it still has not deteriorated the cushion. Makes regular towing much smoother. This unit, rated at 10k, with about 7500 lbs behind it, made my trailer feel a lot nicer then it is. If you spend big money on a trailer, no reason to use anything but these cushioned mounts.

by:

Great product and a Huge fan of the Cushioned Ball Mount System. Fast and simple. Excellent customer service received from E-Trailer! Package ordered shipped within the 3 days I selected. I would and have recommended E-trailer for their products. Thank you

by:

I have several of the convert-a-ball cushioned hitches!!! They are very strong and provide a cushion when starting and stopping. This lessens the shock to your vehicles drive train and makes your vehicle ride a little more smoothly and you feel less vibration from your trailer or whatever you are towing. I have visted their plant and seen their quality control. They test their products to the extreme!!!!!!!!!!! MADE IN THE USA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by:

I have used this product in the past. My new truck needed more drop. So I went from a 2inch drop to a 4 inch drop. I pull a 9500 pound boat. When I haul I have confidence when using this product. I like the idea of a cushioned hitch. I also use the convert a ball on the stinger.

by:

I already had one of these cushioned ball mounts and bought a second so I can keep one with each of my trucks. Excellent product, noticeably quieter and smoother towing, and a high tow and tongue load rating. You get what you pay for.
E-trailer shipping time and customer followup are tops. I have bought a lot of items from them and never yet been disappointed.

by:

This is these second time ordering a cushioned ball mount from etrailer. It's the best mount out there because when you're attached to a trailer, it feels as if it's not attached. No more bouncing around. Fast shipment and excellent packaging.

by:

Very well built & seems to dampen the push n pull effect that my trailer has while hauling tractor & bush hog. Another great product from convert a ball..

by:

I am very happy with my purchase. Shipping on my items was very fast & packaged well. This hitch isn't the only item I purchased. I like all the items I received from you. Everything I purchased was made of very good qaulity material. And competative prices.
I would recommend buying from you to others !

by:

eTrailer is the best! Fast ship and no problems
I'll
be using the heavy duty hitch to haul my 5,500 lb boat and trailer from Texas to Michigan this spring.

by:

The cushion feature in the hitch is great. For a heavy boat trailering it is a pleasant experience.

by:

Works great. Very happy with this hitch.

by:

Great product! It may be a little strong for my smaller trailers (3000#) but it still gives a little to provide a smoother ride.

by:

Great product. Simple compact design. Dampens movement between tow vehicle and trailer. Makes for a smoother towing experience.

  • Ball Mount And Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2010 Toyota Tundra
The closest fixed ball mount we have to a 2 inch rise is the Ball Mount 2-3/4 inch Rise or 4 inch Drop, 6,000 lbs, item # 2753. We also have the Cushioned Ball Mount 2-3/4 inch Rise or 4 inch Drop, item # AMSC4. If you need a higher rated ball mount for your towing needs the # AMSC4 ball mount has a 10,000 pound capacity. I would recommend the higher 2-3/4 inch ball mount to allow for a bit of rear end sag when a trailer is attached. We have several 2-5/16 inch balls, you will need to...

  • Where Are Fulton Ball Mounts Made?
Fulton ball mounts, like the # F47CR, are made overseas in China. If you were looking for something American made, you would need to go with something like the Convert-A-Ball # AMSC4. The Convert-A-Ball will have a higher 10,000 pound capacity, the same rise and drop as the Fulton, and a polyurethane shock absorber that helps with the jarring/clunking felt when stopping and starting. This is made out of steel though, so if you wanted to go with an American made aluminum option, I do have...

As you mentioned in your question, the Reese Sway-Control Bracket # RP26003 requires the ball mount platform it is used with to be narrower than 2-5/8 inches. I narrowed down our available selection of ball mounts to those that meet your requirements (2 inch hitch, 4 inch drop, 1 inch ball hole, 7,500+ pound capacity) and then went out to our warehouse to measure the ball platform widths on these units. I found that the following ball mounts match what you are needing and feature a ball...

  • What is the Hitch Pin Hole Diameter for Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount AMSC4
Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2-3/4" Rise, 4" Drop - 10,000 lbs Item # AMSC4 does indeed have a 5/8 inch diameter pin hole. That is the standard size for 2 inch ball mounts. The standard size for 1-1/4 inch ball mounts is 1/2 inch. If you have a 2 inch hitch receiver then you will be good to go with this ball mount. But if you have a 1-1/4 inch it will not fit. Convert-A-Ball doesn't have a cushioned ball mount for 1-1/4 inch hitches.

All of the aftermarket hitches we offer for your 2014 Ford F-150 also have the same 2-inch size receiver tube and this is the size that is compatible with the cushioned ball mount you referenced, Convert-A-Ball # AMSC4. If you needed to stick with a 10,000 lb towing capacity, then you would need a new ball mount, # C45338 for 8 inches of drop, # AMSC6 for 6 inches of drop or if four inches of drop was needed, # AMSC4. That means you would need a rise ball mount of 3 inches for the trailer to sit level. The part # AMSC4 has a rise of 2-3/4 inches so it will be close enough to work very well. For a 2 inch ball like what the k2 trailer requires you would want the part # A-90.
