Gaining Rise With a Hitch Ball

Question:

I purchased a cushioned convert a ball 10 inch drop, 10,000 lb ball mount from you some time ago for my pontoon boat trailer. Item AMSC10 for my 2014 Ram 2500. It works well and is level. I need to pull my dual axle utility trailer, it has a different stance and the 10 inch drop will tow it too low to be even. I saw that you carry hitch balls by curt that will give me either 1 inch or 2 inch rise on a 2-5/16 ball Item C40036. Only problem I see in the specs is that the ball is 1-1/4 inch diameter and the ball mount is 1 inch. any suggestions or do I have to buy a complete new ball mount with less drop?

You can get get a hitch ball with a 1 inch diameter shank that will give you 2 inches of rise with a 2 inch ball # C40034, though that is going to limit your towing capacity to 6,000 lbs.

If you needed to stick with a 10,000 lb towing capacity, then you would need a new ball mount, # C45338 for 8 inches of drop, # AMSC6 for 6 inches of drop or if four inches of drop was needed, # AMSC4. I have added links to video reviews of each of these ball mounts for you to take a look at.
