Product is awesome. Shipping container was destroyed when it arrived. Product was not hurt.

by:

Was hoping this would help with shock reduction. It doesn't. Has to fit loosely into hitch to function so it slams side to side and front to back. Would not recommend. Very disappointed in this purchase. Trailers service is exceptional. Easy to order. Arrived quickly, well packed.

To help reduce the play in your set up, I recommend part # RM-061. This anti rattle device once installed will help to stabilize what you have installed in your hitch.

by:

We purchased these 6 months ahead of the arrival of our new trailer with 2 Max Air fans. At the time, no one had the transparent/smoke ones in stock, so we wanted to get ahead of supply chain issues. etrailer had them, and we received them quickly.

Had the trailer dealer install them and two others on the new trailer, so they could do any caulk work if needed. These are fantastic, in that you almost can't tell they are on the fan. A bit of tint, but otherwise crystal clear, and we never worry about leaving the vent covers open while travelling, or in inclement weather. etrailer is our go to for as many of our RV supplies as we can get from them, instead of the "A" company. Great customer service, good prices, and speedy shipping.

Great experience and good customer serv ice

by:

Super quick service. This is the second one I purchased, it was a gift. After I had the experience towing cross country with my jeep on a heavy 12K equipment trailer I couldn't believe how smooth this ball mount feels. No jerking over bumps or starting and stopping. Really a great part and worth the money. That's why I purchased another as a birthday gift for my son in law who has the same truck.

by:

This is the heavier duty version of cushioned hitch I am replacing. It's well made, fit and finish is excellent. I use it on a heavy duty Ford F-350 4x4 flat bed truck with a big V8 engine (460 c.i. or 7.5 liters). During the harvest season I pull two DMI 300 bu wagons tandem. A good quality cushioned hitch is a life savor with that much weight heaving back and forth going down the road. I highly recommend them they are well worth the extra $. Im sorry butbI don't have any pictures to share with you lol

by:

This product works exactly as described. Expect to have your trailer movement front to back smoothed with this. Our original ball tongue had a harsh feeling to the movement, this ball tongue softens that feeling. Of course, etrailer shipped the product very promptly and it arrived well packed. Every purchase with them has been flawless!

by:

Have had for the last year and used this hauling a work trailer that is from 6 to 10k. Really like it, can definitely tell the difference when using a regular style one. I also have a smaller one with 2" ball for towing my jeep. I figure these are cheap insurance for saving your driveline from the added wear of a jaring stop and go motion.

by:

Item received. Installed easily. Shipping was very fast, but, packaging was less than adequate. Hitch had come loose inside of box and torn a hole during shipping. Wiring lost in transit, but, turns out I didn't need it anyway.

by:

This product is heavy duty and performs very well. It seemed a little pricey but I just finished an 1,100 mile trip using it and was very pleased. I have driven countless miles with a "normal" ball mount and there is no comparison. Buy it, use it, you won't regret it.

by:

Just put it in my 2006 Ram 2500, it's a bit of a loose fit. Not sure if that is the design but my concern was that it would rattle going over bumps. My receiver has not been used before so it's not worn at all, it is stock. I put one wrap of Gorilla tape around it to snug it up and to keep it from rattling around.

by:

I really like the cushioned receiver and the ball and lock I ordered. The online process was great. The website had plenty of information and the entire transaction went smoothly. In addition the order was shipped that day and arrived ahead of my expectations.

Great Job!!

by:

The hitch was just as described. It is always a pleasure doing business with e-trailer, quick shipping and very good packing.

by:

Takes the bump away on starts & stops in traffic areas. Wouldn't use anything else.

by:

A great product- this thing is solid and well made. I love the double powder coating. I only wish the video review would have mentioned the shank length for the ball. They reviewed everything but the length. Trailer has always provided excellent service and truly provides great products.

by:

The thickness of the metal on the portion of the hole that faces away from the receiver is a little concerning. Not sure how long it will last.

by:

2nd purchase from etrailer. Fast, efficient service and delivery. Just delivered today so request for review was a little quick. Seems heavy duty, ball I order fit through the hole just right... The whole thing went together like peas and carrots!

by:

I own 2 of these now & they're awesome... Only way to go when pulling a trailer.

by:

Delivered on time and really works well cushioning the trailer from bucking the truck.

by:

second one bought from etrailer, works very well. good product

by:

The equipment is quite impressive and beefed up to carry the published weight. Haven't used it on the truck yet, but am looking forward to that.

by:

This product is just what I needed, good quality

  • Recommended Class V Hitch for 2006 GMC Sierra for Towing 10,800 lb Boat
I'd recommend upgrading that hitch, ASAP. If the hitch fails while you're towing, causing an accident, your insurance company would be well within their rights to deny you coverage which would leave you wide open to all kinds of legal liability. Not a pretty situation. Usually, Class V hitches do indeed have a 2-1/2 inch receiver tube. However, companies like Curt Manufacturing, Draw-Tite and B&W have developed Class V hitches with a 2 inch receiver tube that are strong enough to be classified...

  • Shock Absorbing Ball Mount With 2-5/16" Ball
The Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing part # C40047 only comes in a 2" ball at this time. You may consider using a ball mount like part # AMSC2HD that has a shock absorbing core with a 2-5/16" ball. The ball hole diameter is 1-1/4". If you need a ball with that size diameter shank I recommend part # 19286.

For your 2007 Dodge RAM 3500 HD Flat Bed Crew Cab with dually chassis there is not a B&W trailer hitch receiver available. Instead, I recommend you use the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # 41936 rated for 1,200 lbs tongue weight or 12,000 lbs towing. If you need a stronger receiver or one that can use weight distribution, I recommend the Draw Tite Class V # 41947 rated for 15,000 lbs towing without weight distribution or 16,000 lbs towing with...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Ball Mount With 1 Inch of Rise
With your measurements you will need a ball mount with 1-1/4 inch of rise, though you can be within a half-inch of that and we do have some good options. You said 2-5/16 inch receiver, so I assume you mean that's the hitch ball size your coupler takes, but I'm not sure if your have a 2 inch or 2-1/2 inch receiver on your 2004 Chevy Silverado so I'll list options for ball mounts for both. - 2 Inch Receiver: Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount # AMSC2HD To mount to your hitch receiver it also requires...

  • Difference Between Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount AMSC2 and AMSC2HD
According to my Convert-a-ball representative, the # AMSC2 and # AMSC2HD both use the same cushion, so there won't be any difference in the cushioning ability of either ball mount. Since you have a trailer ball with a 1 inch diameter shank, I'd recommend using the # AMSC2 assuming that your grain wagon weighs less than 10,000 lbs when its loaded. The # AMSC2HD has a 1-1/4 inch diameter ball hole and a 14,000 lb capacity. If you click the provided links, you can see product demonstration...

The Draw-Tite # 41945 you were looking at will indeed fit your 2007 Ford Van with the step bumper which you can see in the included video of this hitch being installed on similar van with the same step bumper. To complete your towing setup you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # C56020, and a ball mount # AMSC2HD, 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286, and hitch pin and clip # PC3. I included a few videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

  • How to Pick Out Ball Mount for 2014 Toyota Sienna Towing Boat Trailer
I wasn't able to find the coupler height of the trailer you are interested in so your best option would be to contact who you are buying it from and have them measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler lip with the trailer level. When we installed the Draw Tite # 76112 on a 2014 Toyota Sienna like yours we found that it measured 12 inches from the ground to the top of the hitch opening. If you compare that 12 inch figure to the coupler height you get for your trailer you'll be...

You can certainly use a cushioned ball mount like the Convert-A-Ball # AMSC2HD along with a trailer that is equipped with a surge or hydraulic brake coupler. • Should Ball Mount Shanks Get Greased Before Installing In Trailer Hitch
You do not want to grease the shanks of ball mounts as the grease ends up attracting dirt which will wear on the hitch and ball mount as the two move around on/in each other. Your best option is to keep the hitch and ball mount as clean as possible.

  • Will a Cushioned Ball Mount Work with Surge Trailer Brakes
The cushion inside of the Convert-A-Ball cushioned ball mount # AMSC4 would have only a slight affect on the surge coupler on your trailer. You may not even notice it. The cushion is very dense and the more pressure that is put on it the firmer it gets. It would take more force to compress that cushion than to actuate the surge coupler. Cushioned ball mount # AMSC4 has a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop but there are other options if you need a different rise or drop to tow the trailer level: #...

The ball platform on the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches part # AMSC2HD is slightly thicker than normal so you will want to use a hitch ball with an extended length shank. I recommend the 2" Hitch Ball part # A-90 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball part # C40030.

  • Are Cushions in Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mounts Rated for the Same Capacity as the Ball Mount
The cushioned ball mount # AMSC2HD is given its rating based on extensive testing and the design of the components. That does include the cushions on the inside of the shank. So in other words if they tested it at 14K and the cushions failed they would not rate it for 14K. The ball mount meets Society of Automotive Engineers J684 specs. The cushion is going to provide more and more resistance the further or harder it is pushed against so it would not collapse or anything like that.
