Keep with spare tire out of weather to prevent rust.

Every Curt product we've purchased over the years has been perfect. Quality, fitment, price, etc has been spot on. The Curt products are far better made than Reese and Draw-Tite. Not even close!

Oh my goodness! We can definitely get that out for you. Customer Service will be in touch.

by:

Worked perfectly.

Super easy installation
and it carried a U-haul 5x8 trailer 1000 miles with almost full capacity on tow-limits.

A little disappointed that the connecting rod doesn't fit perfectly into the receiver hitch. So, when there is no weight on the ball mount, it is wobbly and makes an annoying metal-to-metal clinking noise whenever you go over a ditch. You can easily correct it with a piece of cardboard stuffing for cushioning or just take it off when not it use.

Great piece of equipment, works perfectly! Super happy with the purchase.

by:

Everything arrived pretty quick and the install wasn't too difficult for 1 person (would've helped to have an extra set of hands). Took a couple tries to line everything up and realize that certain brackets needed to be unbolted before the hitch would align (tow hook on passenger side, and a couple near the rear driver's side exhaust hanger).
Minimal trimming required for the underside of the rear bumper plastic on the driver's side to make room on an 05 wrx wagon. Also needed at least 1 extra long exhaust hanger (kartboy) for the rear to make everything level with my 3" turbo back APS exhaust.
Haven't gotten a chance to tow with it yet, but it feels solid.

by:

Easy installation, good manual. No problems on day to day use.

Excellent product. Good professional advise given so that I bought the right product to fit my existing hitch. Courteous, professional service. High quality, good value product. Fast shipping at reasonable cost. Highly recommended. If if need other products this is the place

Been no trouble, it was easy to fit.

by:

Very heavy this product is. I was very surprised when I picked up the box it came in and felt the weight, which makes me glad I bought a bag to carry it in. The last hitch I ever got, from another plac, because I needed it in a pinch for my last car during a move, wasn't even close to being as heavy and it was about the same size and had the same weight capacity. The metal on that one also didn't seem right either, didn't have the smooth coating this one does. I am quite confident this ball mount from Curt, who has been in this business for decades, will easily take the weight of my trailer, which I use for things like mulch and stone, and then some.

Of course I don't ever plan to over load it, but if something ever happens that requires me to make fast lane changes, I am confident the ball mount won't give out on me. I will still use good safety chains though, I'd be foolish not to. If it's one thing I learned i life, anything can happen no matter how much you prepare ahead of time.

So far its worked well for my trailer, making mulch and plant runs much easier

by:

My hitch ball fits like a glove into the receiver I installed this summer on my 2003 Suburu Baja. The ordering experience was easy and inspiring. Why can't all websites be so intelligent? I haven't used the hitch yet, but it's solid as a rock so I have no doubts all will be well.

Super fast shipping

After a year using my Curt Towing kit I’m extremely pleased. Great, durable quality product. Thanks for fast efficient service.

by:

Pin broke with smallest UHaul trailer (unloaded) on back, dropping the hitch and trailer in the road. Fixed it with a better pin and hitch works fine now.

by:

Easy to slide in and out of the hitch receiver, and it doesn't even rattle around and create noise when I'm towing.

by:

The hitch install was easy, the electrical was a bit more tedious, but all is working well.

by:

Quality product, well made, but design could be improved. The square bar that slides into the receiver on the car/truck is too long, resulting in the hitch ball being about a foot behind the bumper, at least it is on 2004 Ford Explorer. It becomes a trip, knee, or hinge hazard if not removed after towing.

by:

Excellent quality

by:

Good deal for this high quality combo.

  • How to Choose Correct Ball Mount for Towing with a 2009 Audi A6
The correct ball mount for your 2009 Audi A6 really depends on the hitch that's installed and the height of your trailer coupler when the trailer is leveled out. For example, when we installed the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver 24836 on a 2008 Audi A6 we found the receiver height (ground to inside top of receiver) was 10". So if the bottom of your trailer coupler is 11" then you need the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45147 which has a 3/4" rise and comes with a 2" hitch ball. Attached...

  • Availability of Multipurpose Ball Mount for a 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver
When you get to the small 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receivers there tends to be more restrictions on what they can accomplish due to their lighter weight capacities. Unfortunately there are no multi-purpose, or special ball mounts that can be used with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. You will only be able to use the regular ball mounts. Keep in mind that when choosing the correct ball mount for towing you will want to take your trailer and tow vehicle to a level area and measure from the ground...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for 1-1/2" Hitch Receiver and 2" Hitch Ball for 2,700 lbs Towing
We do have a variety of ball mounts that fit your description, you just need to make sure the one you choose has the correct rise or drop to fit your application (see attached helpful article). For example, the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 1-1/4" Hitches # C45147 fits all of your criteria and then has a 3/4" rise and a 1-1/4" drop so if that matches what you're needing then you'll be good to go!

  • Availability of 1-1/4 inch Stainless Steel Ball Mount with 2 inch Hitch Ball
We do carry 1-1/4 inch ball mounts with a 2 inch diameter hitch ball already installed on it in steel, but it is not stainless steel. The steel ball mounts do come with a black powder coat finish though that protects it against rust and corrosion. When deciding the correct ball mount for your application you will want to look at the Rise and Drop that it has to offer and choose one that has the appropriate Rise or Drop for your application. For example the Curt # C45147 has a 1-1/4 inch...

  • Is There a Ball Mount for a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch With 1 Inch of Rise
The good news is that the additional 1/4" of rise you are trying to obtain is likely not going to be necessary when towing a trailer. The vehicle should sag a bit once you attach the trailer so more than likely, the ball mount you have now will work just fine for you. I would not worry about the additional 1/4" or so when towing a trailer as it will not have any negative effect. The bad news is that we do not offer a high rise hitch ball that will fit the Curt Towing Starter Kit for...

  • Is Underbody Trim Panel Reinstalled on 2023 Mazda 3 For Draw-Tite Hitch Installation
Yes, to install the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24984 on your 2023 Mazda 3 you will need to remove that panel and it won't be put back into place. Hitch instructions only mention this when the hitch either prevents the panel fitting back into place or there is excessive trimming that needs to be done on the panel for it to fit back in place so it's easier to just remove it and leave it off. If you'll be using the hitch for towing I recommend installing the T-One Wiring...

The hitch has a gross towing weight up to 3,500 pounds and has a tongue weight up to 350 pounds. Your Kia Niro has a towing capacity of 2,866 pounds, so do not go over the vehicle's towing capacity.
