Can The Roadmaster High Low Adapter RM-077-2 Be Used To Tow A Trailer And Mount A Winch On Top
Question:
Can I use this hitch to tow my car hauler, and put a winch in the top slot?

Though I do have a couple other options, the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for Tow Bars # RM-077-2 is actually not designed to be used to tow a trailer. This is specifically designed for use when flat towing a vehicle behind an RV and will not be able to handle the tongue weights of a trailer.
With that being said, we do have the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544 that is rated to 4,000 pounds towing and 400 pounds of tongue weight, but the use of an adapter like this will reduce you tongue weight by 50%.
Another option will be the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver # D210. As this is rated up to 7,500 pounds, it may be the better option. As with all of these types of mounts, using an accessory in the top receiver will reduce your tongue weight by 50%, but with you just using it for a winch, you could store the winch when towing and then slide it into the receiver when parked. This would keep the 7,500 pound towing capacity and will be the better option.
