Perfect fit and all hardware was included. Shipment arrived on schedule and installation took all of 5 minutes. This is a well made spare tire holder,no more having to crawl underneath my 5th wheel to access my spare tire.1774716

This was exactly what we needed. It is very well-made and it sits nicely into the hitch with absolutely no wobble. The only reason I gave it four stars was because of the difficulty in aligning the bolts to attach the spare tire. They are free floating so they can be setup for a variety of tires. But this makes it very difficult to align the bolts and try to tighten at the same time. I solved this by making a paper template of the holes from my spare tire. Then I bought 3 jam nuts and 3 washers to secure the bolts into position before lifting the tire in place. Now that the bolts are secured in the right alignment it will be easy to remove and replace the tire in the future. It would be a very simple thing to add these instructions and supplies to the kit.1770305

Exactly what I need but a few minor things which reduces it to between 4 and 5 stars. The retainers do NOT hold the bolts in place so they slide around while installing the tire. Quite frustrating. I used a lock washer and nut to hold them in place after adjusting to fit my tire. The multi-tool is pretty useless. Overall quite pleased with this purchase.1738385

etrailer could have done better on their description of this item. They do not address locking this item to your receiver. I ordered the 5/8" lock, which fits every standard hole on all the receivers I have seen. But, the hole on this item will accept only the 1/2" lock. now, I have to have a machine shop make the holes bigger, this is less hassle than trying to return my 5/8" lock for a 1/2" lock. Then I ordered the lock for the wheel and I saw the note about keyed alike. I mistakenly thought that the wheel lock and the receiver lock would be keyed alike for $[XX]. I was wrong, but etrailer should have noticed that I did NOT order any items that could be keyed alike and should have deleted that from my order or at least sent me an email to clarify my error. My rating is based on the fact that the holes for the lock should be larger to fit the more common hole size on most receivers or at least make that fact known in their video. they even have pictures showing a receiver lock on this item, another opportunity to say to use a 1/2" diameter lock.1670713

The spare tire mount that came with our motorhome was not strong enough to securely hold the heavy spare tire. etrailer recommended the Mount-n- Lock HiLo Hitch receiver and the etrailer Hitch Mounted Spare Carrier and the combination worked out very nice for us. My husband and I are in our mid 70's and we were to do the instillation ourselves with the help the inclosed directions and some online videos. The hardest part was lifting the heavy spare tire onto the carrier.1373528

I was very happy with the item. It's solid, well welded, all the tools I need plus the bolts and nuts included. I am especially pleased with the extra support piece that sits to support the upright tube that holds the tire and horizonal tubes that connects to the hitch. This fits my off-road small camper. I don't rock crawl, but I do go off road on all my road trips.1688498

My heavy duty pick up truck tire only 2 of the bolts will match the lug nuts. The tilt to the angle of the head makes it so it pushes in to the back of my vehicle. Needs to be more straight-up-and-down with the bigger tires.1364883

I have used the tire mount for a year now. Even though the super duty bolt pattern will only let two bolts hold it to the mount, it has stayed secure.

I purchased a used class c motorhome with no spare tire setup. It was an easy installation onto the hitch, but very difficult putting the heavy tire on afterwards. I probably should have put the tire on first before placing on the hitch. Almost no movement or shaking, it’s very secure.1433821

We do! Part # e98892 is an example of a lug nut lock we carry, and part # e98880 is a hitch pin lock that should work with your spare tire carrier.

This is a sturdy but to me somewhat awkward shaped. It sticks out more than I like. It was quite difficult to get the tire attached and could only get 3 bolts on to secure it. Directions were good, would like to have had more detail instructions for how to install the tire on it, like which side should be facing out, etc. Fingers crossed that it stays on.1673087

Perfect wish I knew about this a year ago.
We cut our bumper off to install a more heavy-duty installation. Doing this we lost our spare tire mount. So we stored it in the front of our 5th wheel where it just bounced around. But with this mount we no longer have to store it up front. We no longer haul a boat so this works perfectly. And now we found etrailer we are making all our rv purchases through them. I was excited about this item. But after the install i tried to open my hatch back and found that it doesnt clear the tire carrier. Its an inch to far in. Im sure anyone that ordered this item would have the same problem. Its obvious that the carrier was never modified to correct this issue. It looks great but its useless as it is. I actually have to remove the entire carrier in order to open my rear door.1247154

Depending on how far under the bumper the hitch receiver is, the carrier may or may not extend far enough to be able to open the rear hatch. On this spare tire carrier the hole closest to the upright bar measures 3.75 inches from the center of the hole to the upright. The furthest hole from the upright bar measure 6.25 inches from the center to the upright. You can use a part like part # Y02483 that will swing away from vehicle in order to give clearance to open the hatch.

Very quick delivery, it even came a day early. Nice online tracking. Good price, very solid steel spare tire mount for my SxS. It is already mounted. Some very nice features like a screw in trailer hitch pin that I think will eliminate any rattle. Also, hardware included. Very happy. Thank you1230011

Works great. Very solid and heavy duty. I used a U bolt with a bracket to stabilize where the stinger slides into the receiver to eliminate any wobble there. Very happy with it.

Very well made, the tubing is of heavy gauge. It weighs 16 -lbs.

Still working great, I love it.

Worked well for my Polaris Ranger. Only thing I didn't like was the 1/2" hole for the pin. Should have been 5/8" to match most common receivers.1626295
