As you may observe, an 8 ft roller bunk would have made it more simple to install! Two 4ft would not be a good idea as the angle iron would have still be necessary.

Excellent up to now but useless in a ramp with deep water boat floats anyway. Shallow waters need a push where the rollers come into action. Up to now, I did not have to push bit I am looking forward to shallow waters!

I have the 3,000 # model and it is exactly what I needed to make loading and unloading my Tracker Pro V 165 simpler. I don't need to back my trailer nearly as far back in the water so I don't get wet feet every time I go fishing.

After a year of using my roller bunks, I can say that I will never have another boat trailer that is not equipt with them. The ease of lauching and loading my rig is fantactic.

Combined bunk rollers and a keel roller (along with a winch and some lumber) to create an easy way to lift and store our 22' kayak. Works like a dream!

by:

I received the roller bunkers but had to wait a few weeks to install them and try them out. I put the 5' roller bunks on 8' carpeted, wooden bunks as your instructions suggested (centered). Once I had the hardware it was a simple process. I took my boat out of the water and could not believe how much easier it was. After I serviced my boat I put it back into the water. I basically had to hold the crank handle to keep the boat from sliding into the water too quickly. I am so pleased with this product, and the best part...I didn't even get my truck tires wet.

Did you have to adjust the height of the 8 bunk board and where on the bunk board did you install them? Front, middle, or the back?Dave

Patrick B.

5/19/2014

If you go with roller bunks that are less than the length of the wood bunks, then you need to center the rollers on the wooden bunk. On this boat trailer, there were only the two bunks and each got a set of rollers so no height compensation was needed. The only time you will need to adjust bunk height is if you are not putting rollers on all of them.

I built a double JetSki trailer and needed bunkers. So after considerations of lastability, durability and ease of use I decided to go with roller bunks. My first Jetski I purchased I had to actually pick up off the ground but the strap on the either Jetski and simply started cranking. With the roller bunkers the ski got right on this is with one man picking up unit with nothing but a strap!! This wasnt a kids 1500cc Jetski laying on the ground either I simply cranked & rolled it straight up onto the bunks no problem! Since this time I’ve had orders of 12 trailers to be manufactured! Ill never have to replace boards or carpet or worry about them breaking in travel and crushing hulls!
Love it

Much better constructed then I expected.

@FrederickD They work great, don't they? What type of boat are you carrying?

by:

Installed these on my existing boat ramp. I poured a 'V' groove like a curb and installed. At the top I installed a 3 ton winch. I pull my 28 foot pontoon boat out of the Gulf of Mexico no problem. I enjoy watching the neighbors eyes light up in envy. Great product and easy to install. One note: I shoot them with white lithium grease regularly due to being in the salt climate.

by:

First off, I alway wanted a set of these, but couldn’t justifying installing them when there was nothing wrong with my stock bunks, and my boat was never a issue to put on/off the trailer. WAS I EVER WRONG!!!
I have an 2014 Lund WC-14 that spends most of it’s life on my trailer. It is used in fresh and salt water and always well rinsed after use.
A short while after putting it in the water for the first time this year, I noticed a pin hole leak in the hull. The boat is in show room condition, so I couldn’t believe my eyes. When I got it back home, I pulled the boat off the trailer to find that the aluminum hull was starting to pit where the trailers carpet coated bunks make contact. Everywhere else was still like new. After fixing the hull with JB weld marine, I had to find a way to prevent this from happening again. The only answer was to use a bunk that does not hold moisture. After doing some research, I decided on the 5’ Dutton-Lainson roller bunks. Super easy installation using the same mounts as the old carpet bunks. I pulled off the old bunks and bolted these to the old brackets. I did have to lower the mount brackets to keep them at the same height as my old bunks. No big deal. Less than a hour later, done. I can roll the boat back and forth on the trailer with one hand now, and moisture should not be a problem.

by:

Using these on a homemade jet ski ramp on my pier and they are excellent. Tried this with just carpet on the rails and it actually broke the strap. I can now raise the jet ski from the water turning the crank with one hand.

Still working great. I would definitely buy them again.

by:

I opened my new rollers today. They were exactly as pictured on the site. What you can't see from pictures is the quality of the materials. I expected the channel to be minimal strength and was surprised to see it is heavy duty! I ordered an additional pair. Only half done

by:

Used your roller bunks to make a portable shore docking station. Project turned out great with the solid frame of the roller bunks. Saved me $$$ buying a kit from somewhere else!!

by:

So far so good i give more info by end of july but so far just got boat sitting on them an it did roll pretty easy. shipping was so fast ordered it on monday and got that coming fri. Lindy A. was a life saver she help me above and beyond thank you Lindy

by:

Product works well and has provided the required flexibility needed to unload and load my jet-ski into the bead of my truck.

by:

Just wanted to brag on Papa's amazing boat ramp, built by his own bare hands, all in the name of fun. Behold and bask in it's glory!
The rollers work very well and all I lack in finishing the job is some stain to make it look professional.

by:

This roller bunk has made launching and retrieving our rescue jet ski much safer and quicker!

by:

Built solid and ready to install. Wish there were some mounting holes in the middle. Hope the tracks do not rust but only time will tell.

No more replacing old rotten wood bunks and recarpeting.
Problems YES!!!!!, but not with installation of rollers. Bolts were all rusted and of course would not loosen sooo a large screwdriver and a hammer to split the rotten wood and then a hacksaw and vicegrips to cut the bolts
I started installing the outboard 5ft rollers first nooo problem, then the inside 10ft rollers (I bought 2ea 12" pieces of 1/4" angle iron for the center brackets where the 2ea 5' rollers would attach and now I'm ready to drill my holes but, the 2ea new 18 volt batterys are both dead (I just charged them both the day before) luckly I had my doz-all saw with me but, I had been using it to trim tree branches and it showed only 1/2 a charge left.
Take a chance or leave the boat in the lake over night. (Now my wife wants to know just how much longer is this going to take)
I live 75 miles away. I needed to drill 4 holes through 1/4" steel. I thought I would give it a try until the battery has nothing left.
Thank God I had sharp drill bits (3 different size bits for each hole) Just as I was finishing the last hole, again I hear HOW much longer!!!!!
Well the rollers look great and work great!!!!!! Much easier to launch, and when trailering I don't need to back into the water as far and, they center the boat better when putting the boat on the trailer.
This is the second trailer that I have put rollers on. (I didn't have this many problems and my wife wasn't there).
If you're thinking of changing to rollers I'm sure you'll be happy, just be prepaired with every thing you need and give yourself time about 1 1/2 hours and, if its hot - - you might think about leaving the wife else where!!!!! I should have had my wife take pictures. Sorry about that!!

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!

Since I’ve used the rollers for a custom project which is not boating related this review may not be helpful to some.

Being an active RVer & getting older it’ was becoming difficult to access the bed of my F 250. Accordingly I used the rollers to make a slide out for the bed. I wasn’t about to pay the $1K for a pre-manufactured product.

The rollers have help up well with several hundred pounds of gear loaded on them. They roll as smoothly as when I first got them.

It may not be pretty but it works well. I’ll be making some modifications this winter to improve it’s functionality.

Bumpy

8/11/2020

I made the improvements &roller bed is still functioning well. I live in a salt water environment with monevidemce of rist I can detect.

We were having an awful time getting our boat on and off the trailer. I thought "wouldn't it be great if someone made rollers?"

So I did a search and landed on etrailer.com and low and behold...roller bunks. Yippeee.

The boat literally slides right on and slides right off into the water, no muss no fuss...love em!!

VERY heavy duty, WELL made and VERY easy to install...just watch the tutorial videos.

Thanks E-Trailer & Delux roller Bunks!!

Still loving my Roller Bunks!!

by:

i launched my boat today. its the first time since redoing my trailer.the roller bunks work very well for me. launch and recovery are not as much work as before. i mounted bunks using 2nd recommended method. product, service, and shipping was outstanding. thanks again.

yes, still loving the rollers. every time i launch and recover i say the only regret about these rollers is i shouldve done it 20 years ago. thanks again.

by:

I installed the 5' roller bunks on my Seadoo trailer, and they make loading and unloading a breeze even with shallow ramps or if the tide is out. I drive on, throttle up and hook the bow eye. So far they have not rusted, but it's only been one season.

Kevin T.

9/24/2018

Season 2 is now behind us, and the roller bunks are still rust free and working as new. As far as I can tell from normal use With that said, I only used it a few times this year in fresh water.

by:

Received 3 business days after order. Quality is excellent. Install was simple using 3/8 X 2 inch "lag screws" and washers over carpeted bunks. This was for a 14 ft Lund boat that I use in shallow lakes that do not have deep water ramps and many times the boat is not in the water when unloading. Boat loads and unloads easily now. Would recommend.

set of rollers I installed last year. I am fabricating a new way to store the skis back-to-back with the set I just ordered.

You are correct, you can mount the Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunks, item # DL21741, directly to the top of your existing wooden bunks. If mounted in this fashion you would not need any brackets. I would recommend stainless steel mounting screws, available at a local hardware store, to attach the roller bunks to your wooden bunks. I do recommend drilling through holes in your bunk board to mount the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk # DL21741. Stainless steel mounting hardware would provide the best corrosion resistance but remember the rails are galvanized and zinc bolts are used on the rollers. Really I say it would be a what would you prefer scenario, but stainless steel is the best option. • Do Rollers and Bunks on Boat Trailer Both Support Boat Weight
