Included hose clamp secures bracket to your trailer hitch.Package had hitch protruding out of cardboard. The wiring harness wire for the right side were short and I had to splice 3 wires to those that were short. The plug adapter was cheaply made. [online] guy said hitch could be installed with a floor jack. I would like to see him try it. Hitch appears to be of good quaility.
Came with beat up box. I already expected the hitch will be damaged, but it was worst than my expectation. It looks like the hitch was previously returned item, so it is not a new item and somebody put an effort painting the hitch to make it look like brand new, but the paint was not even and oversprayed. I did not bother opening the other box because I am already disappointed. I am returning the hitch including the accessories for the hitch.
Bracket is necessary to mount the 4-pin connector mounting bracket. Easy 5-minute install using the included hose clamp.
Has anyone try using and test fit this trailer connector bracket??
I have destroyed two trailer connectors plus marred the bracket coating with no success.
Please advise on a solution.

I am sorry this is giving you so much trouble. If your are using this with part # 18144, part # 18144 is only compatible with certain harnesses. It works with Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Tow Ready and Valley 4 pole flat trailer connectors Will not work with Hopkins, Wesbar, TAP or Plug-N-Tow brand. Part # BK4F might be a better fit for you.
The bracket is a good idea unfortunately the connector doesn't hold in it and to plug in the trailer you have to hold the back of the car connector to insert it or it falls out
The trailer hitch and related items arrived fast and met all my Expectations. The installation went well referring to the great videos provided. Very pleased with the purchase and with etrailer's customer care.
. Wound up not using this bracket , mounted plug holder to bottom of bumper. There wasn’t sufficient room to mount using this bracket.
I couldn't use this on my 2001 F-150 trailer light hook-up installation. BUT, it worked GREAT to attach a Orange Triangle "slow moving vehicle" sign on the rollbar of my old Kubota tractor. WITH no drilling into the rollbar (a NO-NO).....

It is still working to install the orange triangle on my tractor roll-over bar WITHOUT drilling into the rollbar....
Sturdy piece of items here. Had to mount bracket(s) on receiver hitch area due to another flat location being (my opinion) too far from receiver area. It all worked out. Have been a customer on here for years now. They always have durable products to sell and the how to videos are a plus. Thank you all
Worked perfect, easy to install. I had to mount it in a different orientation, but it fit and tightened perfect.
No issues to date, looks great too.

Working great, no issues. Still tight to the hitch and keeping the wiring safe.
Bought this along with the hitch C13143, wiring harness 56083 and bracket 18144. While the hitch and wiring harness went on as described, and I have nothing but praise for the product and service (and YouTube videos), these two brackets were not made for my Lexus. The hitch is too far back and up for these to work as advertised. However, I figured out if I cut the cover a bit more, I could mount these right behind the side hole in the hitch, and they are accessible but also out of the way, and out of sight. Needed a bigger clamp, but lucky I had one in my workbench. Check out the picture for how it looks. Make sure your trailer wires are long enough to reach to it. Don't cover the hole for your locking mechanism!
The product itself appeared to be good but on my 2018 Mazda CX 5, the trailer hitch is mounted very high and the wide part is on the back side, not the top, so when part #18144 is attached, it does not point out the back of the car. It would have been up behind the bumper with the connector pointing down. I did not need the hidden look and it would have been a pain to connect each time.
I could not use Part #18140 with my vehicle. The pictures I included show how high the trailer hitch bar is up under the car and where I ended up attaching the #18144(118144 on box) to the metal bumper bracket. Image without bracket shows back of car at top of picture.
This works great and looks great on my 2021 Ford Escape hybrid. The short version of this bracket was the perfect length. It holds strong to the hitch and securely holds the wiring connector. My only complaint is about etrailer. They recommended the long bracket in the video detailing the harness installation and after installing it, it was way too long and looked ridiculous. The short version was the perfect length.
Installed the Universal Bracket (18140) and 4-Pole Flat Mounting Bracket (18144) in about ten minutes. It keeps my new trailer light wiring kit from hanging loose. Added a wire/cable shield to keep the wires from rubbing against anything. Super easy installation and the extra protection should extend the service life by years. I recommend this product.

I bought this 2" hitch receiver, 4 pole flat (18144) mounting bracket, (18140) bracket, 2" rubber hitch cover, Wiring harness (56094) for my 2017 GMC Terrain Denali. Installation was straight forward per the instructions. I was able to install this by my self. I did use a car hoist and tripod jack stand that allowed me to position the hitch in place while I installed the nuts on the two center bolts. Then I positioned the side brackets to the unibody rail with the welded in nuts that are on the vehicle for a factory installed hitch. While the SUV was up on the hoist I installed the custom 4 pole flat wiring harness and mounting brackets. This install took me about 3 hours, including installing wire conduit over the harness for protection. Thanks etrailer for supplying a great product. Can't wait to use it to pull my utility trailer with my Polaris side by side to the sand dunes.
I ordered three items, one hitch and two brackets. The hitch came in a broken box with no bolts or instructions and one of the two brackets was missing. Out of three items one was incomplete and one missing. Pretty bad!!! On top of that I had already took the plastic panel off and got the car ready for the hitch, which I had to put back on.. Not going to order from this company again!!!

Exactly what I was seeking to secure my 4-plug device to a tow-bar & tidy-up the excess wiring under my hitch. My wife shook her head in disbelief when I told her the installation would be quick & easy (it never is, right)? Well it was! Had this little baby installed in about 30 minutes. The trailer hitch curt light kit for my vehicle fit perfectly! Also, the online video on the curt wiring kit was perfect!
The hitch was easy to install and I highly recommend the retailer hitch brand as what I received was both high quality and delivered very quickly. Installation took about 2.5 hours for both the hitch and trailer lighting kit!
