4-Way Trailer Connector Mounting Bracket Recommendation for a 200 Toyota Sienna

Question:

In a previous post concerning the Toyota Sienna 4-flat wiring harness, part 43475, you said You would then route the 4-Way plug to the center of the vehicle using an available access hole. Is this the access hole that allows the plug to go through the body of the car and eventually attach to the hitch via a mounting braket? Basically, I dont want to have the 4-flat pin hanging out of the back of my van door I want to permanently install it using a mounting bracket but I dont know how to get the plug through the floor of the van.

The 4 pole trailer connector will be able to be mounted under the Toyota Sienna by the hitch. From the way the instructions seem to explain it, the 4-Way will be on the outside underneath the vehicle and not hanging through the rear cargo doors. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. For a bracket, you can use a combination of # 18144 and # 18140.

If you determine that the 4-Way would have to be pulled through the rear hatch, you can follow these alternative instructions. On the floor of your van, in the cargo area, you may have to pull up some panels in order to get to the metal of the vehicle. Once there, it is possible but not always certain, that there is a grommet, cap, plug, or otherwise a hole through which you can pass the wiring.

If there is not hole, plug, cap, or grommet you can drill a hole, making sure there is nothing on the other side of the location you wish to drill. You will need to seal up any holes with silicone to keep out moisture and exhaust fumes. You can use the same mounting bracket combination listed above.
