Video Transcript for Redline Tie Down Anchors TFX250ACQ Review

Today we're going to review the 2 1/2 inch long torch trailer floor and wall liner screw for ACQ treated wood. Now the torque's flat head screws make securing a wood floor or a wall liner to your trailer quick, easy and economical. The screw uses a type F point, which is designed for securing your wood floor or your wall liner to heavy gauge sheet metal. Now these screws are specifically designed for use on the ACQ, which is the alkaline copper quantinary wood. This is because this ACQ is a treated wood. It's very corrosive. These screws have been made with an approved plating material that is less expensive than using stainless steel screws and has been shows to outperform galvanized screws. If you notice has the tapered flat head, which will sit flush with the surface when they're installed.

The torque's head size is a T30. The diameter of this screw is a quarter inch. The overall length, if you put a ruler on it, you can see is going to be right at 2 1/2 inches long. We had mentioned it uses a type F point and what that is it has a blunt tip and as I rotate it, is if you look at the very end, it has multiple cutting surfaces. Now when you do install this, it does require drilling a 7/32 pilot hole. That should do it for the review of the 2 1/2 inch long torques trailer floor and wall liner screw for ACQ treated wood..

no issues with breakage or pulling out after a year of use

by:

Exactly what was needed before installing the torx screws into the trailer frame. The only issue was that the old screws did not come out; had to take those off even with the frame using an angle grinder and cut-off wheel. Twice, while drilling, I ran into what was left of the old bolts. One of those trips snapped off the end of the bit. Otherwise, no issues, and I'm glad I had two drill bits (to install 32 screws).

Installation was easy, and after staining my trailer deck and repainting the frame I have a trailer that is better put together than the original. Those screws hold the boards tight to the frame, and have shown no sigh yet of loosening or rusting.

by:

These are perfect to fasten down the wooden boards in my horse trailer.

by:

By far the best screws that I have ever used and are well worth the money. I looked at other screws to use with treated lumber and not only did they look inferior they cost more. The combination of the screws and the drive bit are definitely a wining combination.

I highly recommend purchasing the Torx driver bit at the same time. Not a "cheap" product. I installed 170+ screws thru 3/16 cross members (after using a 7/32 bit for the pilot hole) and the bit shows very little wear. I highly recommend both of these products.

On a side note. The web site exceeded my expectations for information. I called the customer service desk with a question and received the info that I was looking for. Then they followed it up an email. Best online company that I have worked with. Will definitely recommend to others. Thanks, Bill M.

Everything is great. None to very little cupping of the treated 2 x 8s. Shrinkage of the boards was about what I expected. Still very happy with the screws and the bit. I have recommended both products to others that are thinking about redecking their trailers.

by:

From start to finish etrailer has been great to do business with. Start with a clean surface, measure twice cut once, and drill for every screw...all went in like butter no screws damaged. We never redecked a trailer before, will do them all in house going forward. Two guys 4 hrs (includes breakfast and a lumber run). Couldn’t be happier.

Its been a year...two trailer hauling mowers, a BX25d, probably over 100tons of gravel-2-3tons per load, scrap metal runs, trash hauling and no popped screw all boards are holding just fine...great products!!! Buy them you will be happy! I am??

by:

Great product, took my time, drilled pilot holes, broke no screws!

Holding strong, great product!

by:

I have purchased these in different lengths. I just built a 6 X 9 utility trailer. Not only are these the best price, they are by FAR the best quality I have used. Not one broke or stripped.
Cheap Chinese copies either snap off, or the threads strip out. I was putting them thru 1/8" wall tubing. No problem at all.
Also, it is important to note that the coating on these allows them to be used in virtually any type of wood. AC2, ACQ, Oak (many people don't realize how acidic Oak is), and others.
I really have nothing but the best marks for them.

by:

This is an excellent product. This is the only way I will fasten down trailer decking material. Simple installation and great return in the investment.

by:

I just finished putting the floor onto my trailer and not one of these screws broke during the process. In fact, I am placing an order for 100 more of them to have in my garage. Thanks for a great product.

by:

Worked as needed

by:

These are the right length for attaching rough-cut decking to flat bed. Galvanizing has been holding up fine for a year or so, admitting truck is parked under carport most of the time. Socket head does not chew out driving it snug with manual driver.

by:

This was a great product and exactly what I was searching for. I needed a strong deck board screw that was strong and resistant to the corrosive properties of treated lumber. The screw did wonderful in its self tapping property. I only broke 1 of the 126 I installed in my trailer and that was because I drilled a sloppy hole beside a broken screw from the previous install. The screw tapped the metal easy enough that I was able to use cordless drills to install. Also the price was very reasonable and this is comparing it to screws that had a plain or zinc finish. Shipping was very fast and I used the free shipping option.

still pleased with this purchase. My trailer sits out and the screws are still holding strong. there is some fadingon the head. It appears this screw will outlast the wood. If it does, I will refloor my trailer and order these screws to install it again

by:

Great product. I used 170 to re-deck my 8 x 16' flatbed trailer. I pre-drilled the pressure treated lumber and drilled pilot holes in the 3/16 cross members. I used my 1/2" angle head drill to install the screws as it turns at a slower rpm and still has the torque to drive them thru the 3/16 steel. I purchase the torx head bits (2) at the same time. I only used one bit and it still looks like new. Highly recommend both products.

I have used used the same bit on other projects and still works great.

by:

You need them get them going to use them to redo trailer decking Thanks

by:

Received the screws today. Right on time as ordered. I installed them right away. They work great! I ordered a few extra incase some stripped or would have problems with installation. I recently purchased a new Gooseneck trailer and it only had screws every 3rd cross member. I screwed every row now.
Well, now I have a few extra. They were easy to use. I did dip them into oil and they cut the threads very easy. Will contact again if I ever need more.

Exactly as expected. Highly recommend.

by:

Ease of shopping, great communication, and safe, accurate shipment of product was excellent. Great company, great service!
Quality of the screws was top notch.
But the two 7/32” titanium drill bits , in my opinion, were substandard for the job. I’ve been in construction over 38 years and have drilled a ton of holes in all kinds of metal. Both of these bits failed the task.
Overall, I’d definitely be shopping here for my next trailer needs.

by:

TFX250ACQ trailer floor screw. Great product. I used the screws to re-deck a flatbed trailer that was in desperate need of new wood on the deck.
Thanks etrailer.com !

The screws are holding up very well. No issues. I highly recommend these screws.

Rain is keeping me from starting my project of a new trailer deck, but the product was perfect on a test sample. Shipping was super fast. Bought a new DeWalt impact driver to install them and can't wait to get started. I was sold after reading all the positive reviews so thanks to all of you who posted comments.

The installation is still solid as a rock. This product was absolutely the best choice for my job.

by:

Have used these trailer floor screws in the past and found they have performed well. I just recently replaced the the decking where I had used these fasteners and was able to remove all the screws without any difficulties. Great product.

by:

These screws work perfect when replacing the wooden deck on my 18' Car Trailer. I also used the used the recommended Torx bit offered by Etrailer, and installed about 150 screws with the same bit...not a single one broke or stripped. The only problem I found was, a previous post recommended using a 7/32" drill bit, but I found that to be too small for my application; it just wouldn't allow the screw to proceed thru the steel on my trailer. I had to step up to a 15/64" bit in order to get the screw to actually work.

by:

My truck bed screws arrived via UPS before I even had time to track the shipment. Just as I ordered and quick. I'm a loyal customer now.

by:

If you are going to do it... Do it right. Why fasten your decking with screws that are going to rot off in a couple of years. I built a custom 6 X 9 trailer. Didn't cut any corners on the axle, lights (LED's), steel or anything else. These are the 'best' screws I have found. I did spend some time doing my homework on other as well. MOST others are not for use in treated lumber! Many are not even galvanized (some are just zinc or cadmium). Not only are they the best screws, they are the best price I have found. No, I don't work for them either. :)

Project: Replace wood floor on 5' x 10' trailer using 2" x 8" treated wood. Very good product - use it - you will be pleased you did. Just drill the pilot hole and install screw. I did the drilling and my grandson followed me installing the screws. Zero screws lost/stripped out 80 installed by grandson. I had him apply oil to the first few screws, the screws went in easy. Then I had him to stop applying oil, the screws went in easy - we stopped using the oil. ( Have several drill bits on hand before starting project, I broke 2 bits out of 4 that I had.) The welder who came to the property to cut the welds (5 tack welds holding the L iron at the front of the trailer, the L iron sets on top of the wood to secure it) said the screw were a good choice. We put screws in the ends that sets under the L iron that was remmoved. At this time, I'm not sure if I will reinstall the L iron (the wood may try to curl as it weathers). I can use the screws to attach the L iron vs. spot welds. Thanks for letting me share my experience.

by:

These screws are the same as the factory installed screws. Worked very well and secured tight with 7/32 pilot hole. I did snap the head off of three of them. This was caused by the sudden change of torque when the screw hit the steel under the wood. I dipped the screw about a inch into oil then screwed them in with no issues. You will need a t30 star bit to install them. Shipping and service is good from etrailer. I liked ordering only the amount I needed. I will buy from etrailer again.

by:

The product was of good quality and worked great for my project. These screws are hard to find and they had just what I needed.
