Video Transcript for Review of Redline Trailer Decking Screws - TF01150

Hello, etrailer neighbors. I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at these one and a half inch long Torx Floor Screws, 40 in a pack. So again, you're gonna get these, if you need to install the decking on your trailer floor and something like that nature, they're a nice tapered flathead. They're gonna sit flush with the surface, and you can see that taper there. They are a quarter inch in diameter by one and a half inches long.

They're what they called a "Type F point." They have 21 threads per inch. And it's a Torx 30 is the size of the bit you're gonna need. You also need a 730 seconds pilot hole drill. And again, there's quantity of 40 in each package. Nice, heavy duty quality screws here.

The threads and everything look good. The coating looks really good, so you don't have to worry about them rusting out and corroding over time. Well, folks, again, I'm Steven. Thanks so much for looking. This is our one and a half inch long Torx 30 Screws, quantity of 40.

Have a great day.

  • Screw Set Recommendation for Securing New Boards to Aluminum Trailer
Depending on how thick the boards are that you plan to install in your trailer the 1-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 could work well. The screws are 1-1/2 inches long and are 1/4 inch in diameter. If the depth of where the screws can attach isn't very thick you can compensate for that by using more screws. These are Torx screws so you would need the part # TX430-1 as a drill bit for installation.

  • Is a Pilot Hole Required to Install Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 and What Size Should it Be
Since the Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 are not self-tapping you will need to drill a small pilot hole first before putting in a screw. The screws are 1/4 inch in diameter and it is recommended to drill a 7/32 inch pilot hole. If you do not already have a T30 bit you will need one for these screws # TX430-1.

  • Hardware for Securing E-track to Wood Trailer Floor
The # TF01150 screw is meant to fasten a wood floor to a trailer, it wouldn't be my choice for attaching E-Track to a wood floor. I'd use 1/4 inch diameter lag bolts whose length is a bit less than the thickness of the floor. How many bolts you need would depend on what you're using the E-track for. I'd probably want a bolt fastening the track about every 12 inches or so, maybe closer together for a heavier load. Use a self tapper like # FA1131822 to attach to the steel floor supports.

  • Pilot Hole Diameter Needed for 1-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws TF01150
A 7/32 size drill bit would be ideal as a pilot hole size for use with the 1-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 which are actually 1/4 inch diameter.

  • Screws Needed To Attach 5/8" Treated Plywood To Aluminum Snowmobile Trailer Frame
You will want to use the 1-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 to hold your 5/8" marine treated plywood on your snowmobile trailer. These screws are the same 1/4" diameter you removed from your previous flooring. They are 1-1/2" long as that is the shortest size we carry since the end of the threads are tapered with cutting surfaces to cut into the 7/32" pilot holes you will need to drill through the plywood and into the aluminum floor structure.

  • Recommended Bulk Replacement Deck Screws for Trailer
We do offer deck screws which can be ordered in bulk, you'll first however need to know what size you need. The Torx Floor Screws for example are 1/4" diameter and offered in a few different lengths; part # TF01150 for 1-1/2" long, part # TF01225 for 2-1/4" long, or part # TF01250 for 2-1/2" long. These are sold in packs of 40. You'll need the Torx Head Screwdriver Bit part # TX430-1 for these screws.

  • Torx Screws for Securing Bed Boards to a Utility Trailer
We have a few sizes of Torx screws to secure the bed boards on a trailer, however I do not know what screws are used on the Big Tex trailers and we do not have any specifically for them. I have included the length options we carry below, they all have a 1/4" diameter. 1-1/2" - 1-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 2-1/4" - 2-1/4" Long Torx; Floor Screws # TF01225 2-1/2" - 2-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01250

  • Torx Floor Screws Longer Than 1-1/2 Inches
There really isn't anything we can offer other than using screws longer than the 1-1/2 inch Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 since that particular length isn't catching. Depending the added length you need you can get the same screws, but either 2-1/4 or 2-1/2 inches long: - 2-1/4 Inches Long: Torx Floor Screws # TF01225 - 2-1/2 Inches Long: Torx Floor Screws # TF01250 Both will work with the Torx Head Screwdriver Bit # TX430-1.

  • Corrosion Resistant Screws Recommended For A Snowmobile Trailer
I do have a solution for you but the 1-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 are not treated so these would not be ideal for the use you have in mind. The 1-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood # TFX150ACQ from Redline are subjected to a 1,000 hour salt spray test for superior corrosion resistance and would be better choice. They are not sold in quantities of 40 but you can purchase individually as needed.

  • Fasteners for Attaching Marine Plywood Decking to Snowmobile Trailer
Thank you for the photo of one of the original decking fasteners from your aluminum snowmobile trailer. It appears your fastener has a taper at the point; but then again this might be erosion from exposure to winter road salts. We do offer several lengths of Torx fasteners, including some specifically for ACQ-Treated wood, ranging from 1-inch (part # WLS100), 1-1/2-inch (# TF01150 that you referenced) to 2-1/4- and 2-1/2-inch lengths. The key for your proper replacement size is the depth...
