Video Transcript for Review of Redline Tie Down Anchors - Floor and Wall Liner Screw - TFX150ACQ

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this 1 1/2 inch long Torx trailer floor and wall liner screw for the ACQ treated wood. Now, these Torx flathead screws will make securing the wood floor to your trailer very quick, easy and economical. The screw itself has a type F point to it which is designed for securing your wood floor to heavy gauge sheet metal. Now, this screw is designed specifically for the ACQ treated wood which stands for alkaline copper quaternary wood.

Because this ACQ treated wood is very corrosive, these screws have been made with an approved plating material that's less expensive than stainless steel screws and have been shown to outperform galvanized screws. If you notice it has the tapered flathead to it which will sit flush to the surface when they're installed. The Torx head size on this is a T30. The diameter of the screw is a quarter inch in diameter. And the length we mentioned is 1 1/2 inches long.

As I mentioned earlier, this is a type F point and what that is, it's a very blunt tip. And if you rotate it, you can see that it has multiple cutting surfaces on it. Now, when you do install this it does require first a 7/32 inch diameter pilot hole to be drilled first and then the screw installed into that. But that should do it for the review on the 1 1/2 inch long Torx trailer, floor and wall liner screw for the ACQ treated wood..

These were excellent. I wasn’t quite sure how these worked, but figured it out quite quickly. These are absolutely solid built and I’m happy with how my new trailer deck turned out. The cost does add up when working on a bigger trailers so be aware.

by:

If you are going to do it... Do it right. Why fasten your decking with screws that are going to rot off in a couple of years. I built a custom 6 X 9 trailer. Didn't cut any corners on the axle, lights (LED's), steel or anything else. These are the 'best' screws I have found. I did spend some time doing my homework on other as well. MOST others are not for use in treated lumber! Many are not even galvanized (some are just zinc or cadmium). Not only are they the best screws, they are the best price I have found. No, I don't work for them either. :)

I ordered these screws for a small trailer I refurbished this winter. 1st I tried some from 1 of the big box stores. I started to install the decking with these screws. I broke 1 and stripped 1 and had only installed 4 screws. I threw these in the trash and ordered these from e trailer, I even ordered extra figuring for breakage! I drilled and installed 110 of these screws in a couple of hours . NOT even 1 BROKE or Stripped out. These are a great product and will use them again when I need to install a trailer deck. I am 100% satisfied and would highly recommend this product if you need to install wood on to steel framing. Thanks.

by:

These worked really well for attaching exterior plywood to my steel trailer. I liked that I could order the exact quantity I needed. None of them broke during installation. The only suggestion would be to include the recommended drill bit size with the order, although I was able to find it on the etrailer website so not a big deal

by:

Shipment came fast with no issues.

by:

Great product would buy again.

Used these screws for attaching 5/4" PT decking to my new dump trailer. I installed into 3/32" & 3/16" box steel and had no thread or head failures. Everything attached fine. The screw was just the right length to grab the full size thread area on the screw. The decking was 1" thick

They have held up well. I had to remove 4 center boards and they came out well and I was able to reuse them-a good product.

by:

Just what I was looking for to secure down the new decking on my 2002 Triton XT-10 trailer. I even had to drill new holes in the aluminum frame and used one of these screws as a tap. Worked great and big savings compared to local hardware store that wanted $1 per screw.

I year later and still holding up great!

by:

Just what I needed to re-deck an old Triton atv trailer. These self-threading screws save a lot of time. I have not had them long enough to know how they will compare to galvanized for corrosion, but so far they look good.

After a year they still look great. Very satisfied.

by:

I have used this type of trailer deck screw previously on other projects, nothing compares from those big box stores to include the fastener specialty chain stores. The torx head is a must.

These deck screws are just as the day I installed them. Great product!

by:

These scews worked very well when I replaced the floor on my Titan Aluminum trailer. They matched OEM parts.

Still working great, thanks

by:

I used a 3/16" drill bit to drill all of the pilot holes and put in approximately 80 screws to secure the new decking to my metal trailer frame. Only had two issues with screws breaking and I felt it was from me over - torquing and not from poor quality.

by:

yes, I put a new deck on my snowmobile trailer and these worked very well.

by:

I bought six only need four . I broke one trying to use it to tread the hole . then i pull out tap & die set and had no problem after that

by:

I was a bit skeptical with the screw once I received them as the screw head was smaller than the old screws I removed. After looking at a newer model trailer of the same brand I have I realized they went to these same screws. The screws worked flawlessly and never once did I break or strip one out. Like even passed the screw information to a friend who needs to do the exact same thing but to a longer trailer. This is my second purchase from etrailer and I've never been let down. Great people to deal with.

by:

Used these to re-deck my Aluminum ATV trailer. Worked great. I much prefer the Torx head vs a standard Philips. The trailer was originally decked with Philips screws and some of them did not want to come out (started to strip). I do not see that happening with these. I used Marine Ply not treated but I expect the screws to last a good long time as they are rated for treated use.

by:

We use these for our metal framed tree platform's decking in our challenge course and zip line installations. We've seen some corrosion over the years in certain environmental conditions, all in all they hold up well. Torque drive (T30)is the only way to go.
Great product, but why did the cost go up 75% in the past year?

by:

I received my order today. Fast delivery. Excellent product. I'm using them to replace the deck on a small utility trailer I have. I have used your screws in the past for another trailer deck project. They really work well and I'm very pleased with the performance. Thank you for your excellent service.

by:

Worked great for installing new wood on snowmobile trailer.

by:

Product is holding up great. Everything from ordering, prompt arrival, support, quality etc has been fantastic. etrailer.com gets a perfect score from me.

by:

T-30 Torx screws for treated plywood trailer deck worked as expected. Drove 60 with impact driver into existing aluminum frame without any problem.

by:

High quality fasteners at a reasonable price, shipped my door in 2 days.
I highly recommend e-trailer

by:

Exactly what I needed, probably would had to drive all over town trying to find those trailer deck screws. Ordered and had them delivered in 2 days.

by:

Was excited to find these fasteners specifically for treated lumber. Worked great for rebuilding snowmobile trailer. Price was better than anywhere else.

by:

Using them to install wood decking to aluminum c-channel floor joist. Thickness range of 1/4 to 3/8 and they worked better than expected during my testing.

  • Which Torx Trailer Deck Screws for 2 x 6 Floor Boards
Since a 2x6 board is about 1-1/2 inches thick, I don't think using 1-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood # TFX150ACQ is going to provide sufficient contact with the trailer frame. For that reason I recommend going with the 2-1/4" # TFX225ACQ or 2-1/2" long # TFX250ACQ, which will give you enough screw to install into the steel. You will still want to drill pilot holes for this application, as you've noted.

  • Thread Pitch of Redline # TFX150ACQ Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw
The # TFX150ACQ Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw measures 1-1/2 inches long and 1/4 inch in diameter. The thread pitch is approximately 16 threads per inch.

  • Recommended Trailer Floor Screws for Attaching 1 Inch Decking Boards to 3/16 Inch Steel Angle Iron
As long as you have a pilot hole the screw threads will be strong enough to withstand threading through the angle iron. You should be fine with the 1-1/2 inch screws like # TFX150ACQ you were looking at. For your setup the 1-1/2 will be sufficiant but you can also go with the longer 2-1/4 inch screws # TFX250ACQ. Both of these will work but you will just have more screw poking through on the other end with the longer ones. Since you are attaching treated wood to your trailer, I recommend...

  • What Fasteners to Use to Secure Erickson E-Track to Trailer Interior
Erickson E-Track should be secured to the mounting surface with no fewer than 2 fasteners per linear foot per side, so for example a 3-foot section would need no less than 8 fasteners. The type and length of fastener depends on the mounting surface more than anything else. The screws used should be either stainless or galvanized and they should be long enough to take full advantage of the depth of material at the mounting point. If you were install the tracks on 3/4-inch or 1-inch thick...

  • Torx Trailer Floor Screw Recommendation that is 2-1/2 inch Diameter
We have the 2-1/2" Long Torx Screw # TF01250 which is 2-1/2 inch long and has a bit of a tap built into the head of the screw but would need to have a small pilot hole drilled to work the best. This is 1/4 inch diameter and we do not have a 5/16 inch diameter option. For a Torx bit we have the part # TX430-1 too.

  • Corrosion Resistant Screws Recommended For A Snowmobile Trailer
I do have a solution for you but the 1-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 are not treated so these would not be ideal for the use you have in mind. The 1-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood # TFX150ACQ from Redline are subjected to a 1,000 hour salt spray test for superior corrosion resistance and would be better choice. They are not sold in quantities of 40 but you can purchase individually as needed.

  • Type and Size Fastener to Attach ACQ Treated Deck Boards to Aluminum Trailer Frame
The length of the screw you need will depend on how thick the tubing is. You can use the shorter 1-1/2 inch length # TFX150ACQ, which will get you through the deck boards and into the tubing. The screws we offer are specially designed to work with the ACQ treated wood. If you used anything other than screws rated for ACQ lumber (like the # TFX225 you referred to) or ones made from stainless steel, they chemicals in the wood would cause the hardware to corrode pretty quickly.
