Wood Screws to Use with White Oak Boards

is this the best screw for use with green 1.25inch green white oak boards?

Torx screw # TFX250ACQ is an excellent option for treated wood. If the white oak you have is ACQ treated lumber then this would be the ideal screw.

Otherwise I would go with stainless steel hardware which does cost more but in terms of corrosion resistance there's nothing better than stainless! We have a stainless screw, # 1172904, that will work with wood but it is only a 1/2 inch long.

If you go with the Torx screws and need a bit use # TX430-1. In either case when you use screws in wood you will want to drill a small pilot hole first. This will help to prevent the fasteners from splitting the wood.
