Video Transcript for Review of Redline 2-1/2 Torx Trailer Floor Screws - TF01250

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the two and a half inch long Torx floor screws. These floor screws are going to allow you to re deck your trailer. These are almost identical to a lot of the screws that are used from trailer manufacturers, so it's a good chance that you might not even need to drill a new pilot hole for these when you're putting your new decking on. It might attach to the frame just as they are, so a great option for you there.

These screws do have a tapered head so that they will sit flush with the surface. The end of the screw is an F point and it's a blunt end to help to cut through multiple kinds of surface, including heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, and cast iron as well as zinc. So depending on what type of material you have, it should do a good job for you. These are right at two and a half inches of total length, you can see they're only about one quarter inch diameter. You are going to have 21 threads per inch, and it is going to require a 7/32 inch pilot hole. These are going to be a great option for you if you're redoing your deck.

If you don't already have one, I would recommend picking up a Torx head screwdriver bit. You can find that here at etrailer.com using the part number you see on the screen there, just to make sure that it's easy for you to drill these in place. You are going to get 40 of these screws with each package, so depending on how large your trailer is, how many boards you're putting down would determine how many screws that you'll need. But overall, I think these are going to do a great job allowing you to put those new boards down so that your trailer seems fresh and ready to go, ready to haul more material for a long time to come. So that's going to complete our look for today.

Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Review of Redline 2-1/2 Torx Trailer Floor Screws - TF01250

I have installed 73 of these screws into the flange of 3" C channel.

75 screws, none have twisted off or not tap the pre-drilled holes.

Driving the screws with a Milwaukee 2757-20 Impact Driver.

I must be putting in more screws in than the original installation of the deck, I will be ordering more to finish this job.

As long as etrailer uses this vendor, these screws will not disappoint!!

Great Product + Great Advice + Fast Delivery = Excellent Project Experience.

I bought Deck Screws, Tail Lights and wiring harness.

My only issue was I needed more wire to wire the marker lights and the brakes.

Trailer rebuild has been working fine.My only issue is the center marker lights are a plasticHousing that broke. I have seen trucker lite bars thatAppear to be the solution.

Thanks for the reply. If you need to replace the center marker light bar you might check out # MCL93RB. It looks like this might the right replacement part you need, and it will match the rest of your LED trailer lighting upgrades.

I decided to completely put a new wood floor in my 22 foot slant-load gooseneck horse trailer. The old wood was rotten in many places and I had to remove or cutoff the old screws (they were self-tapping screws). I needed to put down 2x8 treated wood onto the frame and then fasten with new screws. I searched for replacements and came across these. Just the right length to go through the wood and angle iron frame. Just pre-drill the holes using the correct size drill bit and then use the correct size torx bit to fasten them down with a drill. You can probably find the drill bit to use on the description on etrailer and/or with the package of screws. Be sure to use the correct size for the hole. These are much better than self-tapping. I included a picture of the trailer and a picture of the wood floor so you have an idea.

Very bad experience. Placed an order on 5-24-23 for an item that showed to be in stock on the website. Receive an email stating that is back ordered and due to ship 6-5-23, several emails later still no wiring harness. Finally 7-10-23 I receive an empty envelope, well not completely empty it has a letter from USPS stating that the enclosed was found loose in the mail. A box would have been more appropriate to ship this item, as I have been in shipping for two different companies for 38 years now. I am unable to upload pictures of the envelope, I will send them via email.

I purchased these deck screws to replace the worn out deck on my utility trailer. They are the exact replacement screws for what was used when the trailer was built. After removing the old deck and fighting the old screws out, some I hade to drill out. I ended up using all of the original holes with no new holes needed. They are 100% quality and worked great. Helped me put new life in my 11 year old trailer. Time to go back to work for another 11 years!

Worked well securing deck to trailer.

matching exactly with what I have on my trailer. Website was clear and product came when they said it would. No complaints. Will shop here again

I get all of my trailer needs from etrailer.com. I don't bother searching for the things I need because eTrailer.com always has it and at a good price with quick shipping.

Recently replaced the floor on my 20 foot flat bed trailer and needed the special screws that work with pressure treated lumber. etrailer.com had exactly what I needed plus help in selecting the right screw for KDAT material.

by:

etrailer is my go-to supplier for anything I need for our 7 equipment trailers. Recently I decided to re-floor our 20 ft flatbed gooseneck trailer and etrailer had the special fasteners I needed for the KDAT material I wanted to use. Ordered 2 bags of these screws and 3 days later they were delivered. Great selection of products, great customer service, super prices, and quick delivery. What more could you ask for?

by:

These are exactly what I ordered unfortunately the package came open inside the shipping box and a few of the screws where lost but overall a good product and a good company

by:

Shipping was quick and screws worked perfectly.

by:

I put a new deck on my trailer! The frame is aluminum and these screws worked perfectly once you drill the pilot hole. I put in 120 screws and they pulled the boards down tight and not one of them stripped out on me. Well worth the cost !

by:

Product works great, and secures the wooden deck to the frame of the trailer without having to pre-bore holes.

Outstanding, the screws have really worked out well. They went down easily and have held well over the year.

by:

Good quality product. I had questions on the installation of the trailer floor screws and received excellent help from them. All my questions were answered and the installation went great.

by:

Very pleased with purchase and easy use of website. And the added information for wiring harnesses.

by:

i order'd torx screw's for one of my heavy trailers and exactly what i needed and wanted showed up a few day's later. Thank You.

by:

Product was Exactly as described plus came in a timely manner also as stated. Not my first order with etrailer every time was pleased with transaction.

by:

We used these trailer screws to redeck our boat slip. Worked by well. We are return customers to etrailer and will continue to place orders with them.

by:

Order arrived the day it was supposed to, quality product. Much more so than the self drilling I was looking at in HD, Good info on the site regarding pilot holes etc.

by:

These are perfect for securely attaching wood/decking to angle iron. With a 1/4" predrilled hole, they easily self tap. Counter sink the hole for a clean, flush finish.

  • Availability of Torx Head Trailer Deck Screws In Smaller Quantities

  • Can 2-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws TF01250 Be Used With Treated Wood
We have an option for you, though it isn't recommended to use the 2-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01250 with treated wood as it can corrode the non-treated screws. Instead, the best option is the 2-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood # TFX250ACQ. If you need a screwdriver bit with these screws you can use the Torx Head Screwdriver Bit # TX430-1 In regards to returns, new and unused products are able to be returned. • Recommendation For Screws To Attach Pressure Treated Decking To a Flat Trailer
I would recommend to use the treated torx screws for ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary) treated wood for better corrosion and rust resistance. The treated torx screws like the Redline 2-1/2 Inch Long Torx Trailer Screw for ACQ Treated Wood, part # TFX250ACQ, are plated with a material that will resist the ACQ preservative used in treated wood, which is very corrosive because of the high levels of copper it contains. When using ACQ timber it is necessary to use double-galvanized or stainless...

  • Torx Trailer Floor Screw Recommendation that is 2-1/2 inch Diameter
We have the 2-1/2" Long Torx Screw # TF01250 which is 2-1/2 inch long and has a bit of a tap built into the head of the screw but would need to have a small pilot hole drilled to work the best. This is 1/4 inch diameter and we do not have a 5/16 inch diameter option. For a Torx bit we have the part # TX430-1 too.

  • Recommended Bulk Replacement Deck Screws for Trailer
We do offer deck screws which can be ordered in bulk, you'll first however need to know what size you need. The Torx Floor Screws for example are 1/4" diameter and offered in a few different lengths; part # TF01150 for 1-1/2" long, part # TF01225 for 2-1/4" long, or part # TF01250 for 2-1/2" long. • Torx Screws for Securing Bed Boards to a Utility Trailer
We have a few sizes of Torx screws to secure the bed boards on a trailer, however I do not know what screws are used on the Big Tex trailers and we do not have any specifically for them. There really isn't anything we can offer other than using screws longer than the 1-1/2 inch Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 since that particular length isn't catching. Depending the added length you need you can get the same screws, but either 2-1/4 or 2-1/2 inches long: - 2-1/4 Inches Long: Torx Floor Screws # TF01225 - 2-1/2 Inches Long: Torx Floor Screws # TF01250 Both will work with the Torx Head Screwdriver Bit # TX430-1.

As long as you have a pilot hole the screw threads will be strong enough to withstand threading through the angle iron. Both of these will work but you will just have more screw poking through on the other end with the longer ones. Since you are attaching treated wood to your trailer, I recommend...
