Is a Special Drill Required to Install the 2-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Screw # TFX250ACQ

Question:

I am putting heavy treated marine 2x6 on an 18000 dual axle trailer. I will be screwing to 4inch channel cross beams. Should I be using the TFX250ACQ screws and will a normal size impact driver work or is there a special impact driver I need to use? I understand a 7/32 cobalt drill or several will be needed. Also is there a standup adapter made for the drills? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:

The 2-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw # TFX250ACQ is designed for use on ACQ treated wood that is normally very corrosive to metal fasteners. Even if you don't have ACQ treated wood these screws should work great.

Any drill should work fine, the correct bit to use would be the part # TX430-1.
