Video Transcript for Review of Spectro Wiring - 14 Gauge ATO-ATC Fuse Holder - SWC9538

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the Spectro 14-Gauge In-Line ATO-ATC Fuse Holder, for a quantity of one. Now this is an in-line fuse holder that's used for applications where over current protection is required. This type of fuse is normally used in low voltage in motor vehicles. Now the wire gauge on this holder is 14 gauge size wire. So it is designed to accept either a 10 amp or 15 amp ATO or ATC style fuse.

Now to go to install this holder, what you'll want to do, you can see it's a single loop design. You just cut it where you need to, and then you connect the two ends after you cut it to the wiring in line. And then you'll install your fuse for protection. So basically when you go to install your fuse, if you notice there's your two holes there, I happen to pull .. Here's that type of fuse and it has ...

This as a 10 amp one.So you just take the two tabs, line it up with the two spots in there, and then just push it in all the way. Make sure it goes down all the way to give you the protection. Put the cap over there, and then that will protect the fuse from any damage or from the elements. Now this is for a quantity of one fuse holder. Now the fuse that I just demonstrated with that is not included.

You would have to purchase the fuse separately. But that should do it for the review on this Spectro 14-Gauge In-Line ATO-ATC Fuse Holder..

Fuse holder was a breeze to wire in. I use it with one of the trailer connectors to wire a electric tongue jack on heavy duty trailer. Great products etrailer, thanks.

  • Powering Interior Trailer Lights With Generator
You may splice your generator into the main 12V power and ground from the trailer's 7 pin connector to power the interior lights if you use an inline fuse like part # SWC9538 and fuse part # C58450-1 between the 7-pin 12V wiring and the generator 12V outlet. I recommend to wire in the power and ground to the Optronics 12V DC power plug part # A-200 to plug into the generator. The Optronics plug is rated for 12 amps. You want to use an inline fuse because if the wiring shorts out it can...

  • How to Wire Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning
To get power to the controller of your Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning part # LC759404, you need to tap into an existing circuit, or run a power wire from the battery with an inline fuse holder, and a 15 amp fuse, like part # SWC9538, and part # C58450-1. The red "POWER" wire on the motor or awning head, attaches to the red power wire on the controller. The black wire is ground. The "EXT IN" and "RET IN" wires will route to inside where you have the switch mounted. The controller...

  • How to Connect Fuse to ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad w/ Thermostat
The ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad w/ Thermostat # 277-000164 has a 4.8 amp rating. If you can find a fuse rated for 5 amps that would be ideal but aside from that we have the fuse holder # SWC9538 which is compatible with 10 amp or 15 amp # C58450-1 fuses and you will simply splice one end of this holder to the power wire of the heater pad and then the other to your power source. If you'd like the ability to control power to the heater pad then I also recommend installing...

  • Where to Find Fuse for Power Steps on Motorhome
The fuse for power steps on a motorhome, like part # LC3658373, will be found on the 12V power wire that runs to your battery bank as opposed to a fuse in the power center like what you find on a vehicle. What you're looking for is a fuse holder similar to the part # SWC9538 where you can remove a cap to get at the fuse. Attached is a sample wiring diagram for you to check out. Please note that different steps have different wiring configurations so the location of this fuse can vary...

  • How To Wire In Three Thermat Heat RV Tank And Pipe Heater Pads
The ThermaHeat RV Dump Valve Pipe and Elbow Heating Pad # 277-000162 pulls 0.3 amps and the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad # 277-000164 pulls 4.8 amps. Assuming that you're having them all run off the same switch and wiring you would be fine using a 10amp fuse # SWC9538 and some 14 gauge wire. You can run the power wire from the battery to a switch, like part # DG52452VP, and then either splice three separate wires from the switch to the pads or one wire from the switch...

  • Troubleshooting A MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe That Isn't Responding To Temperature Settings
If your MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-06200K isn't properly responding to commands then the first thing to check is your power and ground. Make sure that you have a secure ground connection and check the voltage with a multimeter # PT89ZR to ensure the unit is getting a full 12 volts to properly operate. If the power and ground are both fine then it's most likely the circuit board malfunctioning and would need to be replaced with part # MA10A21276K. I would also...

  • Adapter Needed for External Battery to Trailer Side 4-Way
We do not have a direct adapter, but you could very make your own. Using alligator clips and the Hopkins Wiring Harness # HM48035 would allow you to do this. I do recommend installing at least a 15 amp fuse # C58450-1 and Fuse Holder # SWC9538 between the 4-Way and the battery to keep your setup safe in case of a short.

  • Can I Hard Wire the Jensen JTV19DC Diretly to the Power Source
The Jensen LED RV TV with DVD Player part # JTV1917DVDC can be hard wired if you choose not to use the plug end. When doing this however you will be eliminating the fuse holder in the plug. With that said you need to add an in line fuse like the Spectro 14-Gauge ATO-ATC Fuse Holder part # SWC9538. With out this in place we can't recommend hard wiring.
