exactly what I ordered.

by:

I broke the mounting bracket off the circuit breaker, maybe I a little too rough with it so I blamed myself and ordered another one. While tightening the ring terminals on the new one, the same mounting bracket broke off again. I was more careful with it the second time so I must conclude that the spot weld was not up to snuff. After two units broke I gave up on using the breaker and just used an inline fuse instead. It wont auto reset but it should never blow the fuse anyway.
If you do use it, be careful not to stress the mounting bracket. I would only use this inside an insulating box because if it was just mounted on the engine bay wall and the bracket broke, the hot terminal could short to ground and be a big problem.

by:

The mounting bracket on this breaker broke off so I bought another one. Then the same thing happened on the second one. Be very careful when mounting this breaker and it might work fine, but I was never able to use it.

by:

Works great - once I got the wiring installed this thing had no issues with my trailer.

by:

Everything was as advertised, and thank you Kaylyn R for your wonderful customer service. It took awhile to get everything installed, because of crazy events in the past year, but it all works great!

by:

Easy installation. I used the videos at etrailer, step by step instructions were very helpful.

  • What Fuse/Circuit Breaker is Needed For The Charge Line When Adding Curt Trailer Adapter #C57672?
I recommend using the Wiring Kit # 5506 for running the wiring on your 2019 Mazda CX-5 with the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57672. This kit includes duplex wiring for both the charge line and for adding a brake controller. The kit includes a 20-Amp # PK54220, 30-Amp # PK54230 and 40-Amp # 9510 circuit breaker. The 20-amp breaker is typically used to power the brake controller for single and tandem axle trailers. The 30-amp is typically used to power the brake controller when used...

  • Installing Brake Controller On 2008 Chevrolet Kodiak Motorhome
There is no plug-in brake controller wiring harness available for your 2008 Kodiak, so it will have to be hardwired. If you already have a 7-way connector at the rear of your RV, you can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to locate the stoplight switch under the dash. This wire will only show power when the brake pedal is pressed. This is where the red wire from the brake controller will connect to. The blue wire from the brake controller will then be connected to the pin on the...

  • Recommended Time-Delayed Brake Controller For Motorcycle Towing Camp Trailer With Electric Brakes
The Prodigy P3 brake controller, part # 90195 is a great brake controller and one of our best sellers, but for a motorcycle you might be better off using a time delayed brake controller. The brake controller I recommend is the Draw-Tite Activator IV Trailer Brake Controller, part # 5504 because it is smaller than most other controllers at 4-3/16 inches long x 2-3/4 inches wide x 1 inch tall. The advantage of a time-delayed controller is that you can mount these at any angle versus the...

  • How to Wire in a Brake Controller on a 2008 Monaco Windsor Motorhome
You are correct, the blue wire goes to the brake output circuit of the 7-way on your motorhome, the white wire goes to the ground of your battery, the black wire will run to the positive post of your MH battery through a 20 amp circuit breaker like part # PK54220, and the red wire goes to the cold side of your stop light switch on the brake pedal, in your case it should be the wire number 102 in your fuse control center. This circuit will see 12 volts when the brakes are applied and none...

  • MaxxAirFan Installation to Independent Car Battery
Your MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-05100K will require a minimum of 5 amp service. I recommend installing a 15A inline fuse or 20 amp circuit breaker like # PK54220 to protect your fan components. The manual doesn't state anything about this setup, so it is simply my recommendation as precautionary. You can use # 16-1-1 wire and ring terminal # DW05737-1. I recommend butt connector # DW05744-5 to connect to fan power leads.

  • How to Add Power for Lights on Enclosed Trailer When Not Connected to Tow Vehicle
The battery you already have for your trailer brakes is more than likely a breakaway battery. The brakes on your trailer are going to get power from your vehicle through your 7-way connection. In order to power your trailer lights when the tow vehicle is not connected you will need a 12V battery like the # BRW34FR. From there I recommend running a charge line from your vehicle using # 12-1-1. It would also be a good idea to install a switch like the # PK34308 so you can control the power...

It sounds like the dealer messed with your factory wiring harness and you want to replace it with the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118288. The correct way to run the wires is to connect the dome light to the 12V power wire either directly coming from your battery using a circuit breaker or splicing into your 12V wire at the 1 o'clock position at your bumper. If you want to run a specific wire, you will use # 16-1-1 sold by the foot and use circuit...

  • Brake Controller Recommendation for 2018 Jayco Seneca Motorhome
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 for your 2018 Jayco Seneca. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well. That we are...

I called my contact at Curt and they told me the symptoms your system has are the converter. Since it is not sold as a separate item, the harness will need to be replaced. The Curt trailer harness with a powered converter is part # C59496. We have had several customers send positive reviews with this harness. Since you are planning on getting a trailer with brakes there are a couple of additional things you will need. First, you will need a brake controller. I recommend the Prodigy P2,...

  • Installing a Brake Controller on a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Factory 7-Way Connector
The 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not have the pre-wired port used for installation of a brake controller. To install a brake controller on your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a factory 7-Way you will need to do some hard wiring. The wire Jeep provides is the electric brake output wire that goes back to the 7-Way trailer connector. This wire should be a light green wire that is behind the fuse box in the cab of the Jeep. It will connect to the blue wire on the brake controller. You will...
