Question:

I am looking to install a brake controller. Does my vehicle have a direct plug in? If so what harness would i use?

There is not a direct trailer brake controller plug-in for your 2008 Jayco Seneca with a Chevrolet Kodiak chassis. If you already have a functional 7-way connector at the rear of your RV, to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885, which I highly recommend, you will need to first locate the stoplight switch under the dash using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. This wire will only show power when the brake pedal is pressed. This is where the red wire from the brake controller will connect to.

The blue wire from the brake controller will then be connected to the pin on the 7-way connector at the rear of your truck that is designated for the brakes.

The white wire on the brake controller is for ground and can be secured to any clean, bare metal surface on the vehicle.

The black wire on the brake controller is the 12V power and will be attached to the positive battery terminal using a circuit breaker. If you have 2 to 4 brakes on your trailer, you will use a 20 amp circuit breaker like # PK54220.

If you need additional wiring to reach this length, you can use # 10-2-1, which is sold by the foot. If you need additional blue wire for the brake controller, you can use # 10-1-1.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller mentioned above is a great proportional brake controller that will activate your trailer's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your vehicle. It has a nice digital display with continuous diagnostics that will alert you to any potential issues. This brake controller is well known for its reliability and ease of installation.

I have attached a couple of helpful articles and also an image that shows brake controller wiring in more detail.
