And today we're taking a look at the vehicle-specific wiring harness, that will work in conjunction with the Tow-Pro Elite electric trailer brake controller. These harnesses are going to be great to work with your Tow-Pro Elite in a variety of different trucks and SUVs. Now, make sure that you get your vehicle-specific harness. You're going to want to use our fit guide on "etrailer.com", and that's going to make sure that you get the right harness, and that way your install goes nice and easy.
Included in the REDARC kit, you will find this plugin adapter, and this is going to have these spliced ends, and you're gonna have to tie into your brake signal, your brake output, your power output and your ground. Now, if you are pretty handy with electrical, that's awesome. That's great. You can use this. But I'm the kind of person, plug and play in OEM kind of setup or really nice factory one like this.
This is the vehicle-specific harness. So this ties in directly to our factory tow system, and clips right in, it's got this nice braided sheathing on it, to kind of protect the wires, and then it plugs directly into our module here. So, to save yourself a little bit of headache and time, and make the install go that much smoother, and not have to worry about loose connections, I highly recommend getting the vehicle-specific harness. So this end of the plug is specific to your vehicle. As you can tell, it looks like the factory plug, it fits in perfect, has the locking mechanism, so you aren't gonna have to worry about loose connections happening with your plug, and it's going to make install a lot easier.

These panels with the Redarc brake controller provide a factory install appearance in your truck. Excellent product.
Be sure to follow the instructions and mount it solidly to steel frame under your dash. I screwed mine into the steering wheel-brake pedal frame. Flawless operation
Perfect fit for my 2022 Tacoma! Plug and play as advertised. The video instructions made it self-explanatory. The Redarc controller worked the first time and has performed perfectly ever since (pulling my Winnegbago Micro-mini). etrailer is my go-to place for all my trailer accessories.
Directions for location of where to plug in the harness weren’t correct, but YouTube answered that question. Other than that, very good.
It makes everything work, what more do you need in a wiring harness!
Harness made install quick. Tacoma’s trailer harness is behind the driver’s side kick panel. No tools required to pop the kick panel off just pull carefully. Trailer connection is all the way back against the firewall behind some other wires. There is a grounding screw about 6-8” in front of the harness connection on the exterior wall.
This wiring harness worked great on my 2020 Toyota Tacoma. Made the installation of my redarc tow-pro elite so easy.
Perfect fitment for my Tacoma. Cables are long enough to give flexibility in mounting location without adding unnecessary bulk to the area under the dash.

If you are considering a Redarc brake controller, and you have a 3rd generation Tacoma, getting this harness is a no-brainer, since your truck is already wired for it.
This mounted perfectly in my pickup truck without any issues.

I installed this brake controller on a 2022 Tacoma V6 4X4 Off Road. The Redarc unit arrived and was well packaged. The installation was simple and the instructions were clear and straightforward. The unit blends into the dash and appears as a stock component. I have used this controller while hauling nearly a ton of construction materials on several occasions. It has really worked well for me. I can recommend this controller.

It's exactly what I needed. It allowed me to connect my Redarc controller to my new pickup without needing to purchase a new controller. So far it has been working perfectly. The documentation that came with the cable was a little confusing. A technician took the time to call me back and explain where to find the correct connector on my pickup to plug the cable into. What a fantastic team. Every time I deal with them, they are so helpful, professional, and an absolute pleasure to work with!
