When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

Electric reverse lockout with solenoid is automatically activated when the tow vehicle is shifted into reverse. To use this feature, you must have a 5-pole flat, 6-way round or 7-pole wiring harness.

EASE OF INSTALLATION: Definitely not plug and play. RELIABILITY: Excellent. DURABILITY: Product used exclusively in salt water environment. Still looks new. No Rust! RECOMMEND TO OTHERS: Yes, but know you are in for a major task.

I replaced a twenty four year old coupler with the Titan T4750820.
My previous system had a separate coupler, hydraulic pack, and battery box. I could not keep up with the effects of salt water and time. It became a maintenance and safety nightmare.
The installation of a titan hydraulic coupler and a Tekonsha P3 brake controller has restored my confidence in my braking system.
The staff at etrailer.com was first class in answer all my questions and making sure I got the right gear the first time.

by:

Love the coupler, heavy, built well, nice unit. I only wish e-trailer would of notified me that it was on back order prior to taking my money. Ended up moving a vacation back about a month because of it.

by:

The latch is a pain, it's always getting stuck. It is such a pain that I just ordered the Demco. Save yourself the headache and buy the better product from the get go.

  • How Does an Electric Reverse Lockout Solenoid on a Titan Coupler Get Wired
On the reverse lockout solenoid on Titan coupler # T4750820, one wire will need to be grounded to the trailer frame. The other wire needs to connect to the reverse light circuit on the trailer side connector. When the vehicle is placed in reverse it powers the solenoid and will not let fluid back to the brakes allowing you to back the trailer without the brakes engaging.

  • Replacement Brake Actuator For A Gross Trailer Weight Of 10,000 Lbs.
Absolutely, the brake actuator we have that most closely matches your gross trailer weight (GTW) of 10,000 lbs, is our Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator part # T2478100. If you do not wish to have a 3" drop for the hitch ball, you will want part # T2477600. The Titan actuator is rated for a gross trailer weight up to 12,500 lbs and will fit over a 3" wide trailer tongue. If you are using disc brakes then you will need the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout part # T4750820.

Sounds like you want to change from drum brakes to disc brakes on your Pontoon trailer with 3 Rockwell TA-35 torsion axles. If this is correct then yes, it is possible, and I can help! The 2/rcmhs-8 you were looking at is part # K2HR35D-8. It has a Dacroment finish for longer durability, is listed to work with the 10 inch wheels and has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. Since you have a triple axle you will need 3 sets. It does include the races needed but will need both the bearings inner...

  • What Components Are Needed To Convert Electric to Hydraulic Disc Brakes On 12K Trailer
I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains everything that is needed when adding hydraulic disc brakes to your trailer. In addition to a kit like part # K2R1258L12 you will need to make sure you have the right brake mount flange, and you will need to add hydraulic brake lines to your trailer. You will also need a surge brake actuator like part # T4750820 installed on your trailer frame. I have attached links to the brake lines we offer, and to the actuators we offer.

  • Recommended Surge Brake Actuator for Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
A surge brake actuator will need to be based off of the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the trailer with the boat loaded. As long as the boat and trailer do not weigh more than 12,500 lbs I recommend using the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator part # T4750820. The Titan actuator will bolt onto a 3" wide straight tongue trailer, fits a 2-5/16" hitch ball, and has an electric reverse lockout solenoid. The actuator has a zinc plating for corrosion resistance as well as an integrated...

  • How to Install the Backup Solenoid on Titan Disc Brake Actuators
The Fitting in the back of your actuator, # T4750820, will need to be removed to install the Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators, # T4748800. I have posted a photo showing this fitting. Once the fitting is removed you will install the solenoid valve directly into the back of the master cylinder, see second photo, then attach the brake line from the trailer directly to the solenoid. The fitting that was removed will not be needed.

  • Troubleshooting Electric Reverse Lockout on Titan Model 10 Coupler
The Titan Model 10 Actuator # T4750820 uses an electric reverse lockout that relies on the signal from the vehicle's reverse light circuit. That signal engages the lockout solenoid that prevents the actuator from compressing (and engaging the brakes) when you back up. If your vehicle's trailer connector has damage to its reverse light signal wire this would cause the brakes to remain engaged. You can refer to the linked photo of a 7-way vehicle socket to note that the center pin is usually...

  • Tips For Removing Stuck Master Cylinder Cap On A Dexter T4750820 Actuator

  • Are Replacement Parts for the GDC-100 Available
I may have a solution for you, but we don't have replacement parts for a GDC-100 actuator. It looks like the GDC-100 is a heavier duty actuator designed to work with disc brakes, so the # T4750820 would be a good option to use as a replacement. This is a higher capacity disc brake actuator with an electric lock out, so it's ideal for a boat trailer that has disc brakes..
