Video Transcript for Titan Trailer Brakes T0980100 Review

Today we're gonna take a look at the Titan 25-inch long hydraulic brake line with the fittings. Now this 25-inch long hose will route the brake fluid from the master cylinder of your hydraulic brake actuator to the trailer brakes when it's used with additional lines and fittings. Now those additional lines and fittings we do sell separately on our website, and they are listed on this product page as a related product. You can see this hose is a flexible design which makes it perfect for use with fold-away trailer tongues. This brake line is furnished with 3/8-inch by 24 UNF male and female fittings on the ends. The male fitting's what will thread into the master cylinder of your actuator, and the female settings would attach to the first steel brake line in your brake system. I do wanna give you an overall measurement, just to show you that it is 25 inches.

So from the very end to the very end it's 25 inches long. That should do it for the review on the Titan 25-inch long hydraulic brake line with the fittings.

Flexible brake line worked fantastic when installing a Swing Away hitch

by:

I have a pontoon boat with the trailer I purchased from BassPro. I called customer support, to get a replacement hose for the brake line and they told me "it is discontinued" and offered no help in finding a replacement. I then reached out to this company, and Kate was more than helpful. We found a replacement hose that worked (with no part numbers or any useful information) The customer service was outstanding! I will definately use this company again for any of my trailer parts.

by:

Just what I was looking for. Fair price & on time shipping. What more can you ask for?

by:

The disk brake kit included everything required for my trailer with the exception of a third brake hose which I ordered separately. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The most difficult part of the installation was the removal of the old thoroughly rusted brake shoes and drum. The new disk brakes work well and have been problem free. The only change that I would recommend would be to include Nickel-Copper brake lines rather than the steel lines which are prone to rusting.

by:

Part was exactly what I needed and installed easily. Seems to be of good quality.

by:

Waited about 2 weeks for the order. When delivered found the product delivered was INCORRECT as the brakes lines were 18 inches in length. Brakes lines ordered were to be 25 inches in length. Great Disappointment!

by:

I am very happy with the product I received from etrailer.com. The quality of the product was top notch, and it was perfect for my application. I would suggest that the owner also put with the product description that it fits 1970-1980 jeep j2000's and j10's because that is what these fit exactly and was what I bought them for.

by:

I have actually installed one side of the brakes, and the wheel cylinder fit perfect. The hose was a perfect match also. Thanks for providing a great product at a better than the national auto chain prices with shipping included!

  • Is a Flexible Hose Needed to Connect Titan Reverse Lockout Solenoid Valve # T4748800
You will need to add a flexible brake line hose only if your trailer coupler uses a hinge at the rear of the coupler (if it is a foldaway type). If so, we offer flexible brake line hoses in three lengths, each with male and female 3/8-inch-24 UNF fittings. The 13-inch hose is part # T0777300; the 18-inch hose is part # 18018-SF; and the 25-inch hose is part # T0980100.

  • How to Modify Brake Lines for Folding Tongue Boat Trailer
You could the 25 inch long hydraulic brake line with fittings, part # T0980100. You would just need to connect the line to your actuator master cylinder to route brake fluid to your trailer brakes. The fittings are included. We offer the flexible line in a few different lengths as well. For example # T0777300 is 13 inches long.

  • Can Electric Locket Be Added To Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator
Yes, you can add the # T4748800 to the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator # DX83FR so you have an electric lockout. This is also compatible with the Dexter Hydraulic Brake Line # T0980100 which is perfect for your folding tongue.

  • Attaching the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line When Using Fulton Fold-Away Coupler
When using the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line # T0980100, there are fittings included to attach to your current brake line. One end of the brake line has a female fitting. This female fitting will attach to the male fitting on your brake line. You would need to coil the existing steel brake line in trailer frame behind where the Fold-Away Coupler # FHDPB350101, installs. So basically the Titan Line is adding an extension to your current brake line so the trailer tongue can fold. The other...

The Fulton Fold-Away Hinge Kit, item # FHDPB230101, is designed for bolt-on installation. If you need a weld on kit, you would use the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit, Weld On, item # FHDPW230300, for your application. To install either of these foldaway kits you will need to cut the trailer tongue at the desired pivot point, up to 36 inches see table below, and then attach the two sides of the fold away to the cut ends of the trailer tongue. • What are the Fittings Made Of on 25 Inch Titan Hydraulic Flexible Brake Line with Fittings
You are correct. Flexible brake line # T0980100 can be used in any part of a hydraulic braking system including going from the caliper to the metal line like you want. The ends are different. The more brass-looking one is zinc-plated steel. The other end is steel. My contact at Titan believed it to be stainless steel but could not verify that with the technical data for the product. This same part and design has been around since the 1970s so it is a commonly used part in trailer braking...

  • Parts Needed to Switch a Trailer From Surge Brakes To Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
First you are going to need either a Drum # DH54FR or Disc # DH94FR brake actuator depending on what type of brakes you have. Also be sure to check with the local laws where you live as many states are now requiring all trailer axles to have brakes if over a certain weight. If this is the case I would need to know what axles/brakes you currently have. You will also need a Breakaway Kit # 3802311, Junction Box # 3430001-JBK, and 7-Way # H20046. • Do You Carry A Flexible Brake Line Longer Than 18 Inches In 1/4 Inch Diameter?
I recommend the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings - 25" Long # T0980100 for a longer flexible hose. This is a 3/8 inch diameter versus a 1/4 inch, so if you were to use it with current 1/4 inch, you'd need an adapter. If you want the 90 degree fitting, you can go with the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose - FIF and 90-Degree Male Fittings w/ Stainless Flares - 1.5' # BH-3MFS90FF-1-5 or the Hydraulic Flex Hose - 18" long # 18018-SF which are both only 18 inches. • Brake Lines for Hydraulic Brakes on a Slide Axle Trailer
What I would do is run regular steel brake line back to the mid point of where the axle can travel like you have said. Then from there use the flexible hose long enough to reach when the axle is in the most forward or most rearward position and long enough for the travel of the suspension. We do not have a kit with all flexible hose but a local auto parts store should have all of the parts needed to fabricate something up. The longest flexible hose we have is # T0980100 at 25 inches.

  • Length of Brake Line Hose Needed When Installing Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit, # FHDPB350101
If your trailer has a surge brake coupler you will need to install a flexible brake line like the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings - 25 inch Long, part # T0980100, inline with the couplers master cylinder and the original brake line so the tongue can fold without damaging the braking system. • Thread Size and Pitch for Titan Brake Line Tee with Mounting Bracket # T0778500
I spoke with my contact at Titan and he informed me that this Titan Brake Line Tee, part # T0778500, has an inverted flare seat at the base of the fitting, and it is designed for use with a flared brake line or hose. He also informed me that the thread size and pitch is 3/8 inch x 24 national fine thread, and you would need a male fitting of that size to match the orifices. The Titan Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings, part # T0980100, has these same thread dimensions.

  • Can a Titan Aero 7500 Drum Brake Actuator be Used with Disc Trailer Brakes
Since brake actuator # T4839000 is a drum brake actuator you will have to replace the master cylinder with # T4714200042 which is the one for disc bake applications. Disc brakes require more psi to activate the brakes so you cannot use the drum master cylinder because it will not be strong enough. Nothing else about the actuator will have to be changed. You can use the same brake lines as well. But if the trailer currently has steel lines going to the drum brake wheel cylinders you will...

  • Selecting a Brake Line Kit for Boat Trailer Being Converted to Disc Brakes
You are correct to place your disc brakes on the rear axle of your boat trailer since this is where most of the weight will be carried (nearer to the boat's motor). This kit includes 18-7/8-inch long flexible lines, but if your measurement shows you need longer flex lines we offer various sizes of lines; part # T0777300 is 13-inches; part # T0776500 is 18-25/32-inches...

  • Flexible Brake Line For Fold Away Coupler Hinge Kit
I recommend Titan 25 inch Hydraulic Brake line part # T0980100 to use with the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge kit. The 25 inches is LIKELY long enough because the line attaches to the back of the actuator at the master cylinder and gives you enough slack to not put stress on the rest of the brake lines when the coupler is folded in. Its always better to have a little bit of slack in the brake line when installing the folding tongue for that reason. If you need a longer line, I recommend...

The Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit, part # FHDPB350101, is intended for use on steel (but not aluminum) boat trailers that have a tongue size of 3 x 5 inches. Yes, this is the internal dimension of the two coupler halves. When installed the two halves of your trailer tongue will each slide into one half of the coupler. I contacted Shorelandr and confirmed that your steel trailer PT2440T has a 3 x 5 tongue (about 78 inches in length); this will mate properly with the Fulton coupler....
