Does Brake Line Have to be Cut When Adding Coupler Hinge Kit

Question:

I installed a Fulton swing tongue on my boat trailer. I had to disconnect my hydraulic brakes. The swing tongue is 26” from split to center of ball. I want to cut my main metal brake line and install flex line and reconnect to actuator and to the now cut metal brake line. What part or parts do I need? Or do you have a complete kit that will do all this?

The flexible line part # T0980100 is designed to thread directly into the back of a surge brake actuator.

Instead of cutting your current hard brake line you would want to coil the metal line to move the fitting back so that you can use the flex line there.

There are some simple little pipe benders that you can get at a hardware store that will allow you to bend steel lines without kinking them. You can usually do it by hand by carefully bending the line around something like a soda or coffee can. You always want the highest point in the brake line to be at the master cylinder. So when you coil the line you want it to spiral down to the wheel.
