Jeff Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, I'm gonna take a look at the replacement brake pads for 10,000 pound and 12,000 pound Dexter disc brake assemblies. It is for a quantity of four pads. Now these are semi metallic brake pads which will replace the pads on two of your 10,000 pound or 12,000 pound disc brake assemblies. The brake pads are what will apply pressure to your rotors to slow or stop your trailer's wheels.
Now this kit here as you can see includes four brake pads and the mounting hardware for use on one axle. Which is two brake assemblies. The backing plates on this have a nice e-coating on them. Which will reduce noise and help protect the brake pads from wear. That e-coat finish also resists corrosion.
The pads themselves are a semi metallic material which will resist heat damage. And performs well in cold weather also. If you notice on the back these do now have the attached retaining clips on the back side of the pads. And these clips are what will install to the inside of your piston bores. These parts are made in the USA.
Does come with a nice set of installation instructions that'll describe how these install. But that should do it for the review on the replacement brake pads for 10,000 pound and 12,000 pound Dexter disc brake assemblies..

These pads have been updated and now have retaining clips built into them far superior to the old wire spring that did not work nearly so well.
Eetrailer will probably not appreciate this but if canmask for someone to help, ask for Sheyl, she really gets the job done and follows up well. She has helped me in the past and saw this order coming through. She sent a nice note and made sure it go shipped as promised. Rather unusual to get a note from,an online company thanking you for returning to buy again and promising to watch over your order in process. These parts go on a commercial hotshot trailer and im,I'm, in a rush when I need to get something. etrailer has really performed well when I'm in a pinch. And Sheryl has been a big help.

we needed these two months ago. Thats how long it took for delivery. Received them one month after getting them from different vendor. This is a poor business practice on the part of E-trialer.

I use a 40’ gooseneck trailer for hotshot hauling. I had my brake controller turned way up (8.5) so I smoked my pads in 35k miles. Installed these and haven’t had any problems (~1500 miles). Turned the brake controller down to 3.5 when empty and 5-6 when loaded. Trailer stops just fine with 16,500lbs.

The brake pads were exactly as described, dexter brand and factory fit. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was price. Etrailer has a higher price than competitors but offered quicker shipping. That being said delivery was ahead of schedule.

The product is great but what makes this better than anywhere else is the customer service that I received. You don't find customer service anywhere anymore but my sales man Brian went the extra mile. I have been a long time customer, but now, I will now always buy my parts from etrailer just because I know if I need help ,or my order was not correct , or any reason they will do what it takes to satisfy you . - Frozen Brake Caliper Troubleshooting on Dexter 12k Axle with Hydraulic Disc BrakesYou should be able to compress these back on using a C clamp or a brake rewind tool without much trouble. If they're completely frozen and won't budge using one of those tools, bleeding them completely would be the next potential solution. If all else fails, and depending on the mileage and the age, it might be time for a replacement. I recommend the Disc Brake Caliper for Dexter 10k and 12k Axles # BP18-045 which comes with the calipers and new pistons. These calipers require the 1/4"...

- Picking Out Replacement Dexter Brake Assemblies for 2006 Peterson Excel 5th WheelDepends on the capacity of the Dexter axles you have. If they are between 6k and 8k the # K71-629 is correct for Dexter calipers. If they were between 10 and 12k you'd instead want the # BP04-395. If you had 3,500 lb axles the part # K71-623-00 would be what you'd need.

The disc brake pad kit part # BP04-395 comes with a lube that you'd put on the pads which prevents noise and also allows them to last longer. How do the rotors look? Other factors might be if the trailer is now carrying more weight than usual or the brake controller isn't set properly which might cause the brakes to drag a bit more and wear out.
