Video Transcript for Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bars RM-590050-00 Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to take a look at the extended U-bolt kit for the Roadmaster anti-sway bars. Now, these 15 and seven eighth inch long U-bolts are used to install your Roadmaster anti-sway bars to your vehicle. Now, the Roadmaster anti-sway bar kits number RM-1139-143, RM-1139-144, and the RM-1139-149 are all used in conjunction with the vehicle's factory bar and it mounts using the factory U-bolt.Some vehicles that those kits fit on, they may require these extended U-bolts. Basically, these extended length U-bolts are designed to replace your vehicle's square factory U-bolts if they're too short. These parts are made in the USA, and just to give you some dimensions on this. The usable length, which will be measured from the end here to the inside, going to be right at 15 and seven eighth inches.

The thread length, in other words how much thread is on the end of each one goes up to there, is going to be right at five and a half inches, and in the inside width is going to be right at four and a quarter inches wide. But, that should do it for the review on the extended U-bolt kit for the Roadmaster anti-sway bars.

I purchased a Roadmaster sway bar kit and longer shackle bolts from E-Trailer. The sway bar came on time with free shipping! Upon closer inspection I realized I needed the longer shackle bolts. I called and found it was in stock and available in 2 days with free shipping! Their prices are very competitive and then you get excellent service. It also helps that the shipping was free at this time.

Thank you for asking. The sway bar continues to perform as expected.

by:

I purchased these U-bolts along with the Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar upgrade. I planned to install myself, but as it turned out installation required a very large torque wrench, that I did not have. As a note, a call to a third-party U-bolt source tech support suggested that the original U-bolts should not be reused, even if they're long enough. Apparently suspension U-bolt threads are cut in a manner not intended to be retorqued.

by:

Paula S at Roadmaster was a big help when I ordered our front and rear sway bars. She recommended these extended U-bolts and the mechanic who installed them said they were good and necessary.

by:

they have made the ride and handling of our motorhome a pleasure to ride in and drive.

by:

I ordered the wrong U-bolts with my original order. Make sure you crawl under your coach and look before you order. I had a 50/50 shot and got it wrong. I definitely needed the longer U-bolts installing the rear sway bar on my 24000 GVW coach. The exchange with etrailer went through without a problem. Very good company to deal with. I had to pay a restocking charge but that was to be expected seeing how I made the mistake.

We haven't installed these yet, so this is more a review of etrailer's service and shipping. All I can say is these guys know their stuff and are more than happy to share their wealth of experience with you prior to purchase and after the purchase. They will not leave you hanging and wondering how, when, where-ing your purchase. They have how-to videos, knowledge base articles, and vehicle match algorithms that all help you pick and install the correct product for your vehicle. The shipping is surprisingly fast........fast fast. My confirmation email said it would be 7-8 days and the packages arrived in two days. When I complete the install I will update this review with fit and performance data. So buy with confidence!

This is the solution for the F53 Road Master Anti Sway bars #1193-144. These u bolts are over an inch longer than the stock ones, making Anti Sway bar install easy and safe. Ordered and delivered as scheduled, questions were answered by knowledgeable friendly staff.

by:

Prior to installation of this kit my RV acted like it was going to tip over as it swayed from side to side when I made a turn or was hit by a cross-wind. Post install the drivability of my 37' RV increased by 100%.

  • Recommended Sway Control and Ride Suspension for 2004 Gulfstream Independence with Ford f-550 Frame
For your 2004 Ford F-550 motorhome chassis, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-143 is the correct fit for your motorhome if it is up to 34 feet long. It if it longer, then you will instead use # 1139-144. The rear anti-sway is the most help out of all components. You will likely need longer u-bolts # RM-590050-00 or # RM-590050-10. Next, the Front Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-148 is the next best step followed by the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer with Mounting Brackets for...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement For a 1996 Fleetwood Bounder 28T on Ford F-53 Chassis V8 Engine
For your 1996 Fleetwood Bounder 28T of the Ford F-53 chassis with the V8 I recommend the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-143. This will add a sway bar to the rear of your suspension to reduce sway and provide better stability when turning. First you will want to check your U-Bolts on your rear axle to determine if they are going to be long enough to allow for the sway bar. A 1/2" thick plate will need to be added to the U-bolts. We have the Square Extended U-Bolt Kit # RM-590050-00...

  • How Do I Correct Sway From Crosswinds and Passing Trucks on 2019 Entegra Vision 26X Motorhome?
This isn't uncommon to have this, but there are several products that can help enhance the factory suspension system on your 2019 Entegra Vision 26X combat what you're currently dealing with. The biggest improvement can be made by upgrading the rear sway bar on your Entegra, which will work to stop sway at the rear of the vehicle from crosswinds and passing semi-trucks. Since the Entegra Vision 26x is built on a Ford F-53 chassis, you'll need the Roadmaster Rear Sway Bar # RM-1139-146 ....

  • Anti-Sway Bars for 2019 Tiffin Allegro Open Road Motorhome
According to what I was able to find, the 2019 Tiffin Open Road Allegro is manufactured on a Ford F-53 Chassis. The exact sway bar you need will depend on the GVWR of your motorhome, which should be mentioned on the manufacturer's ID plate along with the VIN and other important information. For 15,700 lb, 18,000 GVWR models less than 34 feet long, use # RM-1139-146 which would install in conjunction with the existing sway bar. For 22,000, 24,000 or 26,000 lbs, use # RM-1139-149. The factory...

  • Anti-Sway Bars for a 2019 Tiffin Open Road Allegro 36 UA
Yes, we do have anti-sway bars for your application. According to my research it looks like your 2019 Tiffin Open Road Allegro 36 UA is built on a Ford F-53 Chassis with the V10. Since this is the case you will want the Front Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-148 and the Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-149 from Roadmaster. Both of which are catered to the 26K GVWR of your motorhome. For the rear bar you do need to check to ensure there is enough factory u-bolt available to accommodate the factory nut,...

  • Recommended Handling Enhancement Kits for F-53 Based Four winds Hurricane 34B Class A Motorhome
In general it is best to start anti-sway efforts at the front of the motorhome, to prevent such handling issues from then rolling through the entire vehicle. For a front anti-sway bar I suggest Roadmaster's # RM-1139-148 which works on both V8 and V10 models. This no-drill install replaces the OEM sway bar with a beefy 1-3/4-inch-diameter 4140 chromoly steel bar that includes polyurethane bushings that last a long time. For your 2005 Fleetwood Bounder 34F, I recommend replacing the rear sway bar first. This retains the factory sway bar. The factory u-bolt may not be long enough for the factory nut, washer and 1/2" plate.
