Video Transcript for Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bars RM-590050-10 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the extended round U-bolt kit for the Roadmaster anti-sway bars. Now, these 20 and a quarter inch long U-bolts are used to install your Roadmaster anti-sway bars to your vehicle. Now, the Roadmaster anti-sway bar's part number RM-1139-143, RM-1139-144, and RM-1139-149 are all used in conjunction with your vehicle's factory bar and it mounts using the factory U-bolts but some of the vehicles that those sway bars are used on may require these extended U-bolts.Basically, these extended length U-bolts are designed to replace your vehicle's round factory U-bolts if they're too sharp. The nuts and washers are included. They are made in the USA. The usable length on this, which is going to be on the inside from the very end here up to the top here. And I got to see inside measurement usable length is 20 and quarter inches. The thread length, in other words it's threaded from this end right up to here, so the length on the thread is going to be five inches.

And then the inside width, which is measured inside to inside is right at four and a quarter inches.

We took our first trip with these installed over the last two months (April & May 2021 4,000 miles). All three of these were put on at the same time front & rear anti sway bars with the extended length U-bolts. The RV handled great.

Will definitely need them if you install the road master rear sway bar. Mine needed them with the 24000 GVW.

by:

These did exactly what I needed them to do. Removed the old U-bolts and used these to extend the length so I could install the sway bar on my 2018 34PA Tiffin Open Road

by:

Product made a great difference in the handling of my RV. Very easy to install. Due to shoulder surgery my daughter installed it for me!!

by:

Worked OK, I guess. Installer didn't say he had a problem installing them.

by:

Do not but from anyone else. etrailer and their staff are second to none. Their follow through is the best in the business. Not to mention they let you know how long your wait will be. Who does that!!! I have ordered 7 items in the past month and have been more than pleased with all.

Thank you etrailer staff!!

  • Are Extended U-Bolts Needed To Install the Roadmaster Rear Sway Bar On a 2018 Jayco Precept 36T
The Extended U-Bolt Kit part # RM-590050-00 (square) or part # RM-590050-10 (round) may be needed to install the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar part # RM-1139-149 on your 2018 Jayco Precept 36T but I cannot give you a yes or no answer. The only way to know for sure would be to crawl under the motorhome and take a look at the factory u-bolts to ensure there is enough threads left to install an additional 1/2" plate.

  • How To Increase Stability and Reduce Sway Of 2020 Bounder Motorhome on 2019 Ford F-53 Chassis
It sounds like you meant that the Fleetwood Bounder is on a 2019 Ford F-53 chassis which is very common. The first step in increasing the stability of the 2020 Fleetwood Bounder on the 2019 Ford F-53 chassis is to replace the factory sway bars. The factory sway bars, especially on the Ford Chassis are not as good as the aftermarket sway bars at keeping the motor home in line. I recommend Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway bar part # RM-1139-148 and Rear anti-sway bar part # RM-1139-149. Before...

  • Recommended Suspension Upgrades for a 2018 Jayco Precept 36T
The first and most important suspension upgrade you will want to make on your 2018 Jayco Precept 36T is an upgraded rear anti-sway bar, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar part # RM-1139-149. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar is going to help minimize the floating/rocking feeling while out on the highway which is typically the most common complaint with a motorhome and the weakest component from the factory. The second most important suspension upgrade you will want to make is a set of...

For your 2004 Ford F-550 motorhome chassis, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-143 is the correct fit for your motorhome if it is up to 34 feet long. It if it longer, then you will instead use # 1139-144. The rear anti-sway is the most help out of all components. You will likely need longer u-bolts # RM-590050-00 or # RM-590050-10. Next, the Front Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-148 is the next best step followed by the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer with Mounting Brackets for...

  • Anti-Sway Bars for 2019 Tiffin Allegro Open Road Motorhome
According to what I was able to find, the 2019 Tiffin Open Road Allegro is manufactured on a Ford F-53 Chassis. The exact sway bar you need will depend on the GVWR of your motorhome, which should be mentioned on the manufacturer's ID plate along with the VIN and other important information. For 15,700 lb, 18,000 GVWR models less than 34 feet long, use # RM-1139-146 which would install in conjunction with the existing sway bar. For 22,000, 24,000 or 26,000 lbs, use # RM-1139-149. The factory...

Yes, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM25VR will fit your 2018 Thor Miramar 37.1 on the Ford F-53 24K chassis V10 engine. You will need to measure the length of the U-Bolt threads sticking past your current plates to ensure they are long enough for the Roadmaster 1/2" plates being installed. If they are not long enough you will need either the Square # RM-590050-00 or Round # RM-590050-10 U-Bolt Kit. The anti-sway bar will use the weight of the axle as a brace against the chassis so that pressure to one side of the motor home is countered by the sway bar. It minimizes the side-to-side movement that cargo shift, wind or passing trucks can cause. On some applications longer u-bolts are required to install this kit. For square-end...

  • 1998 Ford Transit Motorhome Rear Sway Bar Recommendation
We do! According to my research your 1998 Ford Transit Motorhome is built on an F-53 chassis so as long as it has a 15,700 lb GVWR I recommend using the 1-1/2" Diameter Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-143. Please note that you may also need the long U-Bolt kit as well. For 15-7/8" Square Bolts you need part # RM-590050-00 and then for 20-1/4" Round Bolts you need part # RM-590050-10.

This will replace your current way bar with a thicker and stronger 1-3/4" sway bar and uses polyurethane bushings versus rubber. For the rear the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM25VR will add a 2nd sway bar to the rear of your chassis. This bar is also 1-3/4" in diameter like the front with polyurethane bushings.
