Video Transcript for Equal-i-zer Hitch Ball - Trailer Hitch Ball - EQ91-00-6100 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the two and 5/16ths inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems. It's made from a sturdy steel construction. It's going to feature a durable rust resistant double chrome platting and the hitch ball's going to come with your lock washer and it's going to come with a nut, so all that's included. It's also going to come with a little set of instructions that let you know some installation instructions as well as making sure that you get it properly torqued down when you're ready to install it. Now, the ball diameter on the unit is two and 5/16ths of an inch. We're going to take a measurement of the shank real quick. This is going to give us an overall length of two and 3/8ths of an inch and it's going to give us a shank diameter of an inch and 1/4, and this has a weight capacity of 10 thousand pounds. When you install it, this goes through the hitch ball hole opening on the weight distribution head.

On the underside of the head, you place on the lock washer followed by the nut. Then again, according to the instructions that come with it, you want to get it torqued down properly. That's going to do it for today's look at the two and 5/16ths inch Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems.

Product information on website was useful for selection. Product delivery was good and ontime. Hitch was easy to install and adjust and helps keep my trailer from swaying.

by:

The Equalizer hitch parts I received were exactly what I needed to adapt our trailer hitch setup to a new tow vehicle. More importantly, Martha was super helpful - understood what I was trying to accomplish, and found the right parts for us. Great experience!

by:

New to camping two year ago, had a R-Pod first year and now a Forest River FQ 17. Bought the Equal-i-er Weight Distribution system and trailer tows great.

by:

The price for the ball is ok, but then a special socket is needed to attach it and that’s ridiculously priced. Seems price gougey to me.

by:

Service was great. I was notified by etrailer that the package was damaged enroute to me. They immediately offered to resend the order.

by:

Shaft was too big, but seems like a quality product.

by:

Awesome customer service
Thank you

by:

I've put a little over 4000 miles on the hitch and hitch ball that eTrailer recommended. It tows like a dream and is easy to use. Far better than the ride before weight distribution and it was eTrailer that finally got me into the right solution after several other companies talked me into buying the wrong thing. They've earned my trust.

by:

Straight forward install on our 22’ Airstream. Experienced zero sway issues on 5 trips that have included highway speeds. Would purchase again.

by:

The hitch is great! I installed the FA92-00-0600 on my 2014 Acura MDX to pull my 2019 Geo Pro 19BH camper. It is night and day between the old and new hitch. Way less bounce and herky jerky when starting and stopping. Really pleased with the hitch.

Installation was straight forward though it took a bit of time to dial in just right. You also need some big wrenches for sure. I also bought the ALL643216 socket to attach the EQ91-00-6100 hitch ball.

The packaging left something to be desired. Part of the box was falling apart and things fell out of the box when I moved it off my doorstep. The hitch is almost 100 lbs so I'm not totally surprised, but this could be improved for sure.

by:

This hitch is very simple to set up and take down while travelling. Drove home with our new 27 foot TT in high wind through the Columbia River Gorge with no problem.
My shipment of 3 boxes was delayed because of Midwest storms and I was concerned of the arrival. etrailer customer service was exceptional by their concern and devotion to keeping me updated of the arrivals of all 3 packages. Great item and company transaction.

The website is user friendly. I was able to locate the item I needed and checkout without error. The Equalizer hitch ball was delivered promptly within the shipping agreement dates. The Hitch ball works with my Equalizer WDH effectively and is solid and sturdy. I have not question it will do the job.

by:

Ordered the Equalizer distribution hitch. I have not had a chance to use it as my new travel trailer has not arrived yet. Very heavy duty and appears to be as advertised. I ordered this after reading several reviews.

by:

High quality ball I ordered with the hitch head and shank. The Equal-i-zer distribution/sway system is top notch and maybe in the USA! It came a day earlier than expected as well!

by:

Just what I needed to to replace the ball on my weight distribution hitch.

by:

Highly recommended product from others. Didn't disappoint. Amazing shipping! Half of the shipment showed up the next day - the other, the following!!

by:

It’s a ball hitch. Fit great. What’s more to say?

by:

Very solid hitch ball. No complaints wh atsoever.

by:

Completes the Equalizer Hitch I just purchased, but haven’t had a chance to use.

by:

Great experience ordering parts I needed. The parts were shipped exactly the day they promised. Definitely would use etrailer again. Thanks again.

  • Does the Weight of the Weight Distribution System Count as Tongue Weight When Picking Out WD System
This is a very good question, but you do not need to count the weight distribution system as added tongue weight when you use it. We have had several weight distribution manufacturers come out and specify this. To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I...

For your Gulfstream Vintage Cruiser 19ERD, I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37060ET which is rated for a total tongue weight of 200 lbs - 600 lbs. The total tongue weight is the tongue weight of the loaded and ready to tow trailer added to any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. • Recommended Weight Distribution/Sway Control System for 19 Foot 3000 lb Lightweight Travel Trailer
Because a travel trailer has a lot of surface area for crosswinds and traffic caused turbulence to act against, I'd highly recommend using a weight distribution system that provides an incorporated sway control component. To choose the proper system, you'll need to know the tongue weight of the travel trailer when it's fully loaded and ready to go. Anything packed in the truck bed behind the rear axle ALSO needs to be considered as tongue weight. Assuming that the 350 lb figure you mentioned...

  • Will the 6,000 Lb Equal-i-zer System Work On a 2018 Airstream Sport Travel Trailer
If the loaded tongue weight of your trailer is under 600 lbs then the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37060ET will work for you just fine. There is no other reason it would not work for you assuming the above holds true. The only thing you need to make note of is the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the vehicle as this will get added to your total tongue weight figure as well. If your trailer has a 2-5/16" coupler then you will also need part # EQ91-00-6100.

Since we know your camper uses a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball you'd also need the part # EQ91-00-6100. This system would also be ideal for the weight of your trailer as well.

To help distribute the weight of your 2021 Coleman Lantern 17B travel trailer properly with your 2007 Chevy Tahoe and reduce sway I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37060ET.
