Weight Distribution Recommendation for R-Pod Trailer with 500 lbs of Tongue Weight

Question:

Trying to find the appropriate weight distribution/sway control system for pulling a 4000 lb max loaded weight, 20-foot Rpod trailer with approx 500 lbs tongue weight. Tow vehicle is a 2014 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton crew cab/short bed. Want to be able to back up without having to disconnect anything. Also want to be able to install myself. Looking for something that noticeably improves towing stability and reduces sway without being overkill. The Fastaway E2 seems like a feasible solution, but it would be nice to get your recommendations on other possibilities. Thanks!

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

The Fastway e2 part # FA94-00-0600 would be perfect for a tongue weight of 500 lbs. This is a simple setup that will help provide stability, reduce sag, and reduce sway.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # EQ91-00-6080 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # EQ91-00-6100.
