There is a weight distribution hitch you can use with your nearly 3,000 lb GVWR trailer, though I do have to mention that the owners manual of a 2016 Ranger Rover Sport says it is not recommended to use a weight distribution hitch with this vehicle. But if you decide to, what you can use is a hitch from Fastway:
- Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0600
The Fastway # FA92-00-0600 is for total tongue weights between 200 lbs and 600 lbs, which is right in line with your trailer, and comes with everything needed for install except the hitch ball. For that, depending on the size of your trailer coupler, you'll need either 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6100 or 2" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6080.
