Video Transcript for Equal-i-zer Hitch Ball - Trailer Hitch Ball - EQ91-00-6120 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the 2-5/16-inch hitch bolt for Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems. This has been designed for use with the Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems. It's made from a high-grade chromoly steel construction. It's going to feature a nice strong durable design. It's going to have a rust-resistant double chrome plating. It does come with your lock washer and the nut so both of those components are included.

It's going to have your wrench flats here on the side which is going to allow for an easier installation. It exceeds SAE J684 testing and certification. The ball diameter is printed right there on top. That's going to say 2-5/16 of an inch. It's going to have a weight capacity that's also printed on there that says 12,000 pounds. The shank length, that's going to measure about 2-1/4 inches long and the shank diameter is going to measure 1-1/4 inches.

When you're ready to install it, this goes through the ball hole on the head assembly. Washer goes underneath and then you would install the nut and then you need to get it fully tightened down. You would need to get it torqued to the specifications listed by the manufacturer. That's going to do it for today's look at the 2-5/16 inch hitch bolt for Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems.

I bought a 12,000 lb rated Equal-i-zer weight distribution system from a different retailer, but they installed the wrong rated ball. etrailer had the correct ball at good price. I can't wait until summer to use it.

Its a ball
you are reading a review of
a trailer ball
It preforms like a 2-5/16" trailer ball should
Doesn't fit a 2" coupler, push as hard as you want, even get your overweight friend to do that bounce thing that big people seem to have a knack at doing on all vehicle bumpers, wont fit. This is a good thing, because its the wrong size for a 2" coupler anyway, and its probably a safety hazard.
If you need to find a 2" ball, please email the people here at etrailer, they will hook you up faster than a felon on the run.

I bought an e-2 hitch for a travel trailer that weights 5900 lbs. dry and to be pulled with my GMC 1/2 ton pickup. It arrived three days sooner then I expected Which was nice. It took sometime to figure out exactly how to set it up, but the more you work with it the easier it becomes. I ended up dropping the L-bars to the lowest setting and used only 3 spacer washer in the hitch. At the final measurements the truck was the same level as without the trailer attached which is perfect. I took it out camping this weekend for a trial run. The trailer pulled perfectly and we had no problems. I ran into another camper who had the same exact hitch and loves his. I would highly recommend this hitch to anyone plus the fact it comes with about a $200 savings over the big name brands. Karen helped me with my order plus answered some questions for me during the installation process, Thanks Karen..

nice web site, easy to get around and find what I was looking for. I ordered a 9" drop for my Equalizer hitch and a correct size ball. They shipped as promised by etrailer. However the train had a derailment on it's way here. I sent an inquiry as to the where about of my package and they responded the next day with the train problem. I received an email and a phone call follow up from etrailer. I wasn't expecting this great customer service from them but was VERY PLEASED with the service. Got delayed a couple days NO PROBLEM for me. Looking thru the cataloge now for my next purchase.
Thank You etrailer
John

Had a great experience with etrailer.com Ordered all the parts I needed for my equalizer weight distribution hitch (needed a ball and thin walled socket). Saved about 2o bucks on the socket. Ordered on a Saturday morning and had all my stuff on my door in NC by Weds. Great customer service. Will be back.

by:

This product worked great for me. It took a 1-7/8" three quarter drive socket and 3' extension handle with ratchet to tighten it because of the location it's in. Pulls a 7000lbs. trailer with no issues.

by:

Works wonderful! More stable than a sway bar. Very happy with this purchase.

Working like a charm. Been on three trip so far. Wind, rain, drought roads. Pretty stable hitch!

by:

I ordered from here because they had them in stock and this kit came with everything I needed including the ball! Unfortunately when my packages came the ball was not there and when I called to inform them they without question shipped me the ball that should have came the first time. I have not installed the hitch yet but it’s very heavy and seems like it will do as expected and the costumer service was great!

by:

Big shiny (for now) ball.
etrailer spot
on. Good stock and rapid delivery

  • Current Weight Distribution System Rides Rough
If you are having a rough ride but the suspension setup on the tow vehicle acceptable when not under, then yes I suspect you have a WDS that is not best matched your situation. Please review the help articles I have linked. I suggest you try the Fastway e2 Weight # FA92-00-0800. This is for 500-800 lb. tongue weight and one the better rated WDS from customers. You will need a 2" Hitch Ball for this, I suggest # EQ91-00-6080. This is a 2" ball with a 1-1/4" diameter shank that 2-1/4"...

  • Clamp-On Style 1,200 lb Weight Distribution System
The Replacement Frame Bracket Kit 32333 won't allow you to convert your chain-style Husky system to the clamp-on style Centerline system. So if you want a weight distribution hitch with integrated sway control which is a clamp-on style, it would require a new system. The best option for a 1,200 lb system is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-1200. I really like the Fastway for its superior sway control, which is created by friction at two points on the...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System For 2016 Ford F-150 Supercrew
The best way to determine which weight distribution system to get is to know the total tongue weight. This would be the tongue weight of your ready-to-tow fully-loaded trailer added to the weight of any cargo placed behind the rear axle of your truck. If you are towing a trailer weighing 5,500-lbs the tongue weight should be somewhere between 550 and 825 lbs. Add 200 lbs of cargo and you are around 1025-lbs of tongue weight. I would recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System,...

The use of a weight distribution system is indeed recommended for your 2020 Lance 2375 Travel Trailer because its weight is more than half of that of your 2018 Ram 2500. I am not saying that it would be impossible for you to tow your trailer without one but the difference between towing with one and without one would be a night and day difference. Most people do not realize what affects rear end sag has on the vehicle's braking and stability. The added sway control protection is also a...

  • Can Older Model Eaz Lift Weight Distribution System be Upgraded with Higher Rated Bars
Although we do not carry Eaz Lift products, I did speak with someone there and she informed that the new weight distribution bars will not fit with older model weight distribution hitches because on the newer design the head of the bars are a little bigger and the locking slot is a bit lower. If you want to upgrade your weight distribution system without spending too much, I recommend the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-1200. This system has a tongue weight capacity of 1200 lbs and you would just...

To replace your 2-5/16" Equal-i-zer Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6120 you will need a Thin Wall Socket # EQ70-00-4800. You will also need a 3/4" drive ratchet, 6" extension, large crescent wrench and 3/4" torque wrench capable of 450 ft-lbs of torque. You will likely also need some penetrating oil to help remove the nut especially if you can see a lot of visible corrosion. The two points of sway control on the e2 are at the brackets, and the friction is what creates the outstanding sway control of this system. The ideal system would be one in which your total tongue weight falls somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity.
