I would run a wire to the fuse box under your hood and then find a circuit that only sees voltage when the key is on like the radio circuit. Tapping into a circuit there will be better because it will prevent the accessory the circuit powers from being deprived of power.
I would remove the fuse from the circuit you plan on using, test to determine which side of the fuse holder has the current on it and then use that side for attaching the fuse clip.
