Parts Needed to Install Trailer Brake Controller in 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question:
Need a parts list and directions for a 2018 Grand Caravan. The van has no wiring harness currently. Our camper has a 7 pin connector and electric brakes. Want to be sure what I order is correct. Also want to verify I do need a brake controller.

Since your trailer has electric brakes, you will indeed need to install a brake controller to actuate them. I'd recommend a proportional brake controller like the Curt # C24VV Triflex for safe, effective and predictable braking.
To install the brake controller, you'll need to begin with a 4 pole trailer wiring harness. You can provide one by installing # C56331. With the 4 pole in place, you'll install the controller using our # ETBC7 brake controller install kit. The kit includes every thing needed to install the controller, including the adapter to convert the 4 pole provided by the # C56331 to a 7-way trailer connector. It also includes all the necessary wire, hardware and circuit breakers.
You'd use the # ETBC7 kit as shown in the install video I've linked for you.
