Recommended Hangers and Shackles for Building Tandem 7,500 Pound Axle Trailer

Question:

I am building a trailer. I have a set of 7500 lb. 3 Dia. axles with 25 3/8 eye to eye springs. I am looking for a set of heavy-duty hangers and shackles that are greaseable. I am looking for something that allows for plenty of movement , axle wont hit. What would you suggest?

I recommend using the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers - 1-3/4" Wide Double Eye Springs # K71-359-00. This kit has heavy duty shackles, wet bolts, and also equalizers with built-in grease zerks. This will give you 33" axle spacing.

Although there are no heavy duty hangers, I would use longer hangers for additional clearance. You can use the Front/Center/Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 3-1/4" Tall - 9/16" Bolt Hole # 28-5 in the front/rear and then the Front/Center/Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 3-5/8" Tall - 9/16" Bolt Hole # # 29-31 in the middle.

I have attached some helpful articles on leaf spring suspension and axle placement for your reference.
