Its been a year and I aint broke it yet.
I
use this hitch to tow my 7Klb trailer. The trailer is tongue heavy and I needed something rugged to tow it with. Haven't had any troubles with this hitch.

by:

This ball mount fit the SUV just right. I needed a 5 inch rise and the mount angled away from the bumper. However, the load capacity was way more than I needed, but the fit made up for that. It's a little loose in the receiver so I will be adding a stabalizer to lock it in place.

by:

Did not work on my truck due to custom rear bumper. Looks great on my friend's 2018 F350 4 X 4 diesel!

by:

Solid metal casting. Ball mounting hole is 1.25"; hole for the drawbar pin is a shade over 5/8". Approximately 3.5" from the center of the pin to the inside of the drop; approximately 10.5" from the center of the pin to the center of the ball. Drop is 6". Thickness at the ball mount surface is a hair over 1". Width at the receiver is just under 2", and at the ball mount it's a hair over 3". Markings at the ball mount surface are "MAX TRAILER 16000 LBS, MAX TONGUE 2,400 LBS, V-5 SAE J684"; markings at the receiver billet are "PAT#D469723 MADE IN CHINA SHA012210".

I bought this hitch for a trailer I use to haul logs with. It is very well built and should last forever.

That is a very interesting trailer you have there, is it custom made? Just curious, whats the GTWR of your trailer?

I will send an email to Frank to see if he has anything to add. Keep an eye here in case he replies.

I had to take trip with my new Ram 1500 Bighorn and towing my utility trailer with my old hitch wasn't having my trailer level.
These items made it level and had no issues at all.
Thank you,
Joe

Nice steel ball mount with very little flex, especially for such a big drop. Bought a new ball at the same time and put it right to work. Nice black enamel paint finish.

Keeping the ball greased makes hook-up easy. Very pleased with the way it performs.

This product is really stout, and will give great peace of mind while towing my new 10,000# boat and trailer.

Unrelated, but worth mentioning is that the service by etrailer.com is exemplary. This is my second purchase from them, the first of which arrived promptly after excellent communication about the status of my order, and the products were even better than expected. On the second order, the box containing the goods was damaged in transit, and this 31# Ball Mount had exited the package through a hole poked from within and must still be rattling around in a UPS plane or truck somewhere. I took a digital picture of the box and called customer service to report the problem. About half an hour after making the call and forwarding the image by E-mail I got notification that a replacement had been shipped free of charge. Much to my surprise it arrived the next morning. The only request was that I keep the damaged box for a while in case UPS wanted to pick it up to verify the report.

This kind of service is exceptional, and will make me a permanent customer of etrailer.com.

by:

The quality of this 6000 lb. rated hitch ball riser is better than the 7500 lb. rated riser it is replacing. Your videos helped me get the exact riser size that I really needed instead of the riser I bought from the company that installed my trailer hitch. Thank you.

by:

I just received this new drop hitch and it feels like it was built from tank parts. Solid steel. All I can say is don't drop this on your foot or you won't be going on any trailer hauling trip. Great 6" drop, excellent length to get a good reach behind my vehicle, 1-1/4" shank hole for heavy duty ball mounting. I don't expect I'll ever have to replace this part!

by:

This was a gift for my son. I also have two more that i use. Very strong and i don’t have to worry about breaking then as i have done with the welded ones. Safety is very important to me.

by:

Product was exactly as it should be. E trailer was great with their customer service. The first hitch they sent never made it to my home, I called e trailer and let them know and they sent another one out the same day.

by:

Got the ball mount in no time, even with free shipping! Haven't had a chance to actually use it, but it seems rugged and well made! Also ordered a couple of other items from E-Trailer and they all arrived in record time. Also had an email conversation with Michael H. about a connecgtor for the trailer brakes and my P3. His information was spot on - Thanks Michael H.!

by:

Leveled the trailer out while towing, little loose In the receiver, probably wrap it with some electrical tape...good price, good shipping.

by:

This forged ball mount is a solid, hefty product, no doubts about its tow capacity. It fit my Class IV Hitch receiver as advertised. Delivery was fast...received it a day earlier than expected.

by:

Great service, very prompt shipping. Got the HD 6" drop, and 10,000 # 2" ball and pin & clip. This will help to level my car trailer. Weight rating is higher than needed but , I'd rather be on the plus side.

by:

Exactly what I was hoping to find in the market..... It shipped so fast, I couldn't believe it! Five minutes after I received it, I put it on my car and the "higher" ball hitch level is now perfect for my boat trailer.

by:

Good strong ball mount. Will have no doubts about pulling our 2 horse trailer. The weight rating is overkill, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

by:

Great selection of ball mounts, 6" drop mounts are a rare find at any of the local stores. Great product, good price, fast shipping. Thanks Etrailer.

by:

Very heavy duty hitch! Works great!

Still working great!

by:

The trailer hitch was just as expected -- it's a 6" drop ball mount. However, the customer service was unexpectedly great!

by:

Everything was packed with care... Came in the mail before due time... The site helped with the fitting for my truck with no trouble.. And everything fit my truck it stated it would... Thank you for y'all time and y'all great prices! Saved a bunch!!

by:

Ordered this ball hitch from the etrailer.com website. Very prompt service. So far, I am very pleased with this product and this company.

by:

Very Strong, Sleek-looking ball mount that gives adequate towing height to accept my boat trailer. I take comfort knowing it's cast solid (not hollow like lesser class ball mounts) and capable of supporting my load.

by:

I required a 5" rise due to my vehicle being so low. This ball mount was perfect with the angle of the lift being diagonal it helped clear the vehicle without making contact. It created the perfect hight required for a uhaul trailer.

  • Ball Mount with 5-1/4 Inch Rise and 1 Inch Diameter Ball Hole for a 2 Inch Trailer Hitch
Rise or drop doesn't have to be exact. If you can get it within 1 inch you will be just fine. We have # C24WR which has a 5 inch rise and has a 1 inch diameter ball hole. Or another option is to use # C45336 with bushing # F-2. The bushing acts as a spacer allowing you to use a 1 inch diameter ball shank in a 1-1/4 inch ball hole.

  • Recommend Ball Mount To Clear Rear Bumper of 2008 Toyota Sienna
We do have a ball mount that should work well for your towing setup, but, the item you referenced, Forged Ball Mount, part # 40332, will not provide the 7 inches of clearance from the pin hole to the edge of the bumper. The item you selected, Titan Ball Mount, part # 45291, cannot be used in the rise position, so it will not work for your towing setup either. A good solution to provide rise to keep your trailer fairly level when towing and to clear your rear bumper would be the Curt...

  • Extra Long Ball Mount to Allow Installation of Towtector Debris Guard on F-350
It sounds like you are looking for a longer ball mount to use in your hitch to allow installation of the Towtector debris guard. I have linked you to our page for extra long 2-inch 10K ball mounts. For a 2-inch size we offer the Brophy # BH20 which measures 13-1/4-inches from the center of hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole and either 3/4-inch rise or 2-inch drop. There are longer ball mounts but they do not have the 10K rating you need.

  • Recommended Ball Mount With 5-1/2 Inch Rise For 2-Inch Hitch
We do not have any fixed ball mounts with a 5-1/2 inch rise specifically but we do have them with a 5-inch or 6-inch rise like part # 40332 and part # C24WR. You may want to consider an adjustable mount that gives you some flexibility. The ball mount I recommend is the Convert-a-Ball Adjustable-Height Ball Mount, part # TK5007. This is adjustable up to a 10-inch drop or an 9-inch rise. If you need a 2-inch hitch ball I recommend part # 63845. For a 1-7/8 inch ball I recommend part # C40051.

  • Will the Curt Ball Mount 40332 Clear the Bumper on a 2019 CX-9?
The Draw-Tite # 76020 that you have on your 2019 Mazda CX-9 will have the pin hole recessed 6 inches from the closest edge of the bumper. With the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 40332 being 10-1/4 inches from the center of hitch pin hole to the center of ball hole, there should be no issues using these together. If you do not have a 2 inch ball for this, I suggest going with the Curt # A-90. This is rated up to 10,000 pounds and has the needed 1 1/4 inch shank to fit the # 40332. The Curt Pin...

  • Ball Mount for Towing Rental Trailer with 2022 Honda Odyssey
U-Haul rental trailers typically have a coupler height of 18 inches. When we installed the etrailer # e98855 on a 2022 Honda Odyssey, we found the receiver height to be 13 inches. This would be a height difference of 5 inches. The Draw-Tite # 40332 ball mount offers a 5 inch rise, so it would be a pretty good choice for you. However, I'd go with the Curt # C45336 instead. It's a little less expensive and has plenty of capacity for your needs. For a 2 inch trailer ball, you'd use # A-90....

I have attached an article that shows how to measure your hitch height and coupler height to find the correct rise or drop you need in a ball mount. Once you have determined the rise or drop that you need, you will want to choose a ball mount with the correct rise or drop that is rated for the weight of your trailer. It sounds like you currently...

  • Dimensions, Angle of the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 40332
I went out to the warehouse and pulled the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 40332 and took some measurements for you. The dimension from the center of the ball hole to the upturn of the arm is 2-1/8 inches. The second measurement, from the upturn to the top of the shank, is 7 inches. See the image showing the dimensions which I have attached for you. I spoke to the engineer at Draw-Tite who designed the ball mount and he said the angle of the drop is 52.696 degrees.

  • Availability of a Forged Ball Mount with a 6 inch Rise
Out of the ball mounts we carry that the manufacturers have labeled as being forged, the closest one to a 6 inch rise is going to be # 40332, that you have referenced. To get that additional inch, you could use a ball with a 1 inch rise like # C40035. This is a 2-5/16 inch diameter ball with a 1 inch rise and 10,000 pound capacity.

Based on my research, it looks like you will likely have a beveled, fiberglass one piece top on your Rockwood Freedom, so you can use the Swagman Ladder Rack, part # S80510 as a permanent installation on the camper's roof.
