What Size Ball Coupler Does Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Currently Come With

Question:

Two questions: 1 the advertised specs say the trailer has a 2inch coupler but the first Q+A answer says the 66inch trailer has a 1 7/8inch coupler. Which is correct? 2 can you help me figure out the proper ball mount so I can pull the trailer in a level position? I will be towing with a Santa Fe with the top of my hitch receiver at 13. How high should the top of the coupler be when the trailer is level? One of your QandA answers says the ground to the top of the CROSSBAR is 22inch but that seems incorrect. In both cases the specs shown online and your QandA answers seem to differ. Thanks in advance for your reply.

I checked with Yakima to verify and the Rack and Roll Trailers like the part # Y08106 that you referenced comes with a coupler now that is designed for 2 inch hitch balls. At one point it was 1-7/8 inches be they have since changed that. The info you found was incorrect and I updated that page that you mentioned.

When the trailer is setting level the top of the coupler down to the ground will measure 22 inches so you will need to go with a ball mount that will allow you tow the trailer level. If you subtract 3 inches from that you will get around the distance to the bottom of the coupler which is the dimension to use for picking out the right rise/drop.

You would need a ball mount with 6 inches of rise to allow the trailer to be towed level. For that you would need the part # C45100 as long as your trailer hitch has a 2 inch opening. Then for a 2 inch ball part # 40038. 13 inches from the ground like what yours measures is pretty low.
