I bought this on my knowledgeable brother's advice - he gave me the exact order number and link to buy from etrailer! I had it installed locally, without complications. I use my truck mostly to haul my horse or my friend's two donkeys in my 14-foot stock trailer. I have no complaints, the hitch does what it's supposed to do.

Easy install, everything included, and great instructional video. Worked out great for my RAV4.

by:

Perfect height for my boat trailer on 2021 Toyota Rav 4 Adventure with EcoHitch. Quick service and easy ordering.

by:

The mount has worked well. It is sized right to pull our small trailer and I also pulled a boat 600 mi with no issues.

by:

Works as advertised. Great fit and now my boat is level traveling down the road. Fast turn-a-round. For [xx] shipping and the heavy weight, expected delivery in a week or two. Two days later it was at my doorstep, arriving late evening. Great service. Thank you.

by:

The products (ball mount; hitch pin; spring) i received from etrailer.com are Curt branded. For me that means a first class hitch, accessories and great service from etrailer.com. eTrailer.com had the best total cost for the items I wanted. There C/S was outstanding.

I am pleased with the products for my Curt hitch.....also please with etrailer.com thank you

by:

Worked perfect for my tool tug application. See attached photo.

by:

The trailer hitch was top notch, very impressed. Unfortunately, the packaging was NOT. The receiver hitch was shipped loose in the box and the flanges that bolt to the frame of the vehicle busted through both ends of the box. The powder coat was scraped off one side due to this. The hitch needed to either be wrapped better or cardboard added to the box ends to keep this from happening.

The electrical receptacle I ordered at the same time was also loose out of the packaging, inside the box bouncing around with the heavy 4" rise ball mount. I was actually surprised that none of the fasteners were lost due the gaping holes in the box or that the electrical connector wasn't damaged, but fortunately, this time everything was okay.

I think this is a great company with great products, it's just very unfortunate that their shipping department doesn't take as much care in the delivery of those products.

trailer hitch works great with no flaws in manufacturing welds. Purchased to drop cycle trailer down 4 " off my honda Pilot. Now trailer is level and goes down the road great.

Great Hitch, Curt is a forerunner in trailer hitches.

Just what I needed for an unusual setup on a VW Vanagon. What I like about etrailer is the detailed information provided on the site. The measurements were very helpful in getting the right parts. Thanks

Works great. Just what I needed.

by:

We didn't actually use this drop hitch. We were going to use it in the rise orientation, but it was a tad bit too tall as the tail gate hit the trailer hitch. It looks like a quality part, but I don't have any use info for you.

by:

This product has the lowest drop of any bar I could find while still supporting 7500lbs. I needed it because I just bought a big flatbed landscaping trailer, and when I tow it, I do so with a Y-connector and a bike rack. With the 7500lb drawbar that came with the new trailer, there wasn't enough room above the ball hitch to connect or disconnect the trailer to it without removing the bike rack first. This product solves that problem.

by:

I have been very pleased with this product so far and am extremely pleased with the Customer Service I have received from etrailer. I originally ordered a ball mount with a 8" drop. After receiving it and trying it out I found that I miscalculated and my boat trailer was not sitting level. I contacted etrailer and received an email with a UPS prepaid shipping label the next day. The whole thing could not have been easier on my end. That is how it should be done. Thanks to the etrailer team.

Mike

Great product. Fast service. Thanks.

by:

I just want to say. The trailer receiver I ordered was the best. The shipping deliver was fast. I called by phone to get just what I wanted. Do not trust the email pictures with what you just ordered. When I saw them I tried to cancel the order. It did not look right. When I received my order it was more than prefect.
My suggestion to all of you, explain in full detail what you need and they will ship the right hitch.

by:

nice hitch , just what i needed

by:

The products bought were exactly what I expected with regards to quality. But what I appreciated most was the short amount of time it took to receive the items - very quick turn around from placing the order to receiving all of the items. I had emailed etrailer a couple of times, once to get the tracking number and another just to acknowledge receiving it and both times customer service replied right away - so kudos to George J and the customer service team.

by:

Fits perfectly in the rise position on our ‘84 Dodge B250 Ram van that has a class III Draw-Tite hitch. There is about 1 1/2” clearance between the vertical brace on the front of the ball mount, and the vehicle bumper. Be sure to watch the product video. It gives you all of the measurements you need to see if it will fit your vehicle.

by:

Hitch and ball arrived quickly and were of high quality. powder coat finish looked great. Also compliments to the etrailer folks: their followup on the order was fast and professional. Their website is very easy to use and the tracking system for orders uses a pictorial map.
great work etrailer!

by:

Works great, and the low profile keeps it out of the way. The adaptor cable made it plug and play for my 2021 Nissan Frontier.

by:

I purchased this ball mount for my Dodge Ram 2500, and have towed a Jayco travel trailer >5000 miles since then with no troubles. Fit and finish are excellent; still looks new after a year of use.

by:

The ball mount, ball, hitch pin and light kit are still working well after a year.

by:

I received my order very quick and all items are just as advertised. I will defantly order from e-trailer again. Prices are ok too. I am impressed with the product lines they offer.
I'll be in the market for one or two trailer brake controllers very soon.

by:

Product is straightforward and is solidly built. Works great as an easy solution for anti sway if you use several different hitches.

by:

What is there to say about a trailer ball and ball mount? Many miles on it and the trailer hasn't fallen off. Never had any problems with any Curt product.

  • 4 inch Rise Ball Mount Recommendation for a Mazda CX-7
You should have no problem using a ball mount with a total rise of 4 inches on the 2 inch hitch of your Mazda CX-7. The ball mount wouldn't put any undue stress on the hitch. Hitches are designed for use with ball mounts that have varying heights to allow for trailers to be towed level and a 4 inch rise is a very common amount of rise needed. For a ball mount that has a 4 inch rise you would want the part # C45070. I attached a review video for this ball mount for you to check out as well.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for Trailer Needing 4 inches of Rise
You are really close to getting the correct rise drop but on the trailer side you measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler lip instead. So you'd most likely have about 21 inches on that side compared to the 18 inches on the vehicle and would need 3 inch of rise. But if you are squatting that much I'd compensate with the ball mount if at all possible. So for that the Curt ball mount part # C45070 is a really great option as it has 4 inches of rise.

  • Locating Correct Ball Mount to Connect with Trailer on Mazda CX-5 with Low Ground Clearance
I do have a solution for you, however there is definitely not enough ground clearance at the hitch connection between your Mazda CX-5 and 6x12 utility trailer. Any slight incline or bump in the road is going to cause issues with your current setup. To add clearance while also ensuring that the trailer itself is level when connected (it's a little hard to tell in the picture but it does appear that the tongue/trailer is nose low), you will need a ball mount with a larger rise such as...

  • Selecting Ball Mount with Correct Drop for Lifted 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic
The best solution for towing your trailer level with a lifted truck is a ball mount that provides the amount of drop you need. • How to Pick Out Rise Ball Mount for 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Hitch
I attached an FAQ that details how to pick out the correct ball mount. Picking out the correct ball mount will allow your trailer to sit as level as possible. Next, you will measure the coupler height from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when the trailer is on level ground. Next, you will need to compute the difference. If the hitch height is...
