Ordered this to fit with an eTrailer hitch for my Rav4. This was recommended as the correct extender by live chat support. Does not fit. Will not line up for the bolt to engage threads in the receiver. Also the lock is very wiggly and does not hold the extender firmly in the receiver. Super disappointed.

I had the parts taken from our warehouse and tested together. You hit the nail on the head as the inside measurement from the center of the pin hole to the solid back is 3.75 inches, which is not quite long enough for the On Ramp Yakima bike rack shank. I also tested the shank with adapter part # C45791 and it worked perfectly. I will have Customer Service reach out to you for the best option to have extender part # e88YR returned. As for the wiggly lock, I recommend also including an anti rattle device such as part # RM-061 or part # GY88XR. They would help to hold the extender tighter to the hitch opening which helps to minimize movement.

I would definitely give these items and more importantly your sales and service. 5 stars
My new F150 has a taller tailgate and the hitch receiver is farther under the bumper than my old ‘06 F250. It is also a little higher off the ground.
One picture shows how the tailgate hits tongue Jack on my utility trailer.
The ball was 8” from the receiver. The extension and new 4” drop ball mount move the ball to 14”.
So now the tailgate can open completely. Of course I needed to lengthen the chains and wiring pigtail. The trailer is only rated for 2900 lbs so it won’t exceed the decrease in load rating.

It looks good and I'm sure will work well. It does what I wanted

by:

Very High quality product, as has been everything else that I have purchased from E Trailer. Purchased to allow me to open the tailgate on my Wrangler with a carrier installed. I will try to post pictures as soon as I use it.

  • Hitch Extender that Can Fit Class VI Hitch and be Used with Weight Distribution
We have the Curt hitch extender part # C45048 which fits a 2-1/2 inch hitch size, can be used with weight distribution, and can be cut down to 24 inches if needed. This would be the best option we have as long as your Class VI hitch has a 2-1/2 inch opening.

  • Will the GearBox 34 Clear My Ladder and Spare Tire Holder on My 2019 Mercedes Sprinter 2500?
The clearance of of the GearSpace 34 # HGK819 on your 2019 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 depends on how far your ladder rack and spare tire carrier extend from the rear of your vehicle. One way that you can determine for sure if you have enough space is by measuring the furthest outward surface of your tire carrier and ladder from the center of your hitch pin hole. If that measurement falls under 10 inches, you will not have interference when using the # HGK819 on your Sprinter. Unfortunately,...

  • Hitch Extender for Jeep Wrangler With Receiver Mounted Bike Rack
On your Yakima FullSwing 4-bike rack the distance between the end of the receiver and the upright portion of the bike rack is about 8-1/2". (I have attached a picture illustrating this.) You would have to measure the depth of your spare tire to see if it will fit normally. I suspect it will be too close, but if it is, you can use the 8" etrailer # 80307 hitch extender if you have a 2" square receiver opening. If you have a 1-1/4" square receiver opening you can use the 7" Curt # D189...

We haven't been able to test the GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier # HGK826 on very many vehicles, like your 2016 GMC Acadia, but I can give you some measurements that will allow you to figure that out for your own setup. When the GearSpace 34 is fully extended it sits out about 31" away from the center of the hitch pin hole. The box hase outside dimensions of 68" long x 33" wide x 40" tall and the shank has a 6" rise. If you measure 31" out from the center of your hitch pin hole you...

  • Towing Capacity and Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6L
I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2017 Subaru Outback with the 3.6L engine and it lists a towing capacity of 1,000 pounds for a trailer without brakes and 2,700 pounds for a trailer with brakes. As you mentioned it lists a tongue weight capacity in either case of 200 pounds. A vehicle's tongue weight capacity is usually just 10 percent of its towing capacity, but there are certain instances like on your Subaru Outback where this is not the case. I am not...

  • Will Threaded Hitch Pin Work with Hitch Extender for 2 Trailer Hitches
The Trailer Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long # e88YR is not threaded. Therefore, you can use your threaded locking hitch pin on the bike rack side but you'll have to use a different locking hitch pin on the shank side like the etrailer Hitch Pin Lock part # e98881 or the Gen-Y Iron Grip Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin part # GY39FR which is anti-rattle. Unfortunately, there won't be any extenders threaded for a hitch pin.

  • Is it Okay to Use a Hitch Extender in Between a Swing-Away Extender and a Bike Rack?
You are correct that using a hitch extender such as the #e88YR will reduce the hitch's total tongue weight capacity by 50%, so if your daughter's hitch normally supports 350 lbs TW, with the adapter it can support only 175 lbs. I contacted Yakima in regard to using a hitch extender off of a swinging arm such as the the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches # Y02483, and they are strongly against using it this way. Although the arm is rated to support up...

We have a couple pretty long ball mounts for you to check out. The overall length of part # D-26 is 16-1/2 inches. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the ball mount plate is 8-1/4 inches and to the horizontal plane of the ball mount plate it is 10-1/2 inches. • Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier with Tilting Function for a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
The 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # e98874 is a great option. It is 24"x60", made of steel and has the tilting function you are looking for. It has a measurement of 9.5" from the center of the hitch pin hole to closest edge of carrier when folded up. There is a good chance you will not have enough clearance from your spare tire for this to fit when folded. But that is the largest distance we have for a tilting carrier. • Determining If Hitch Extender Can Be Used On Forest River Microlite 21FBRS
Using a hitch extender like the Trailer Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long # e88YR will reduce the capacity of the hitch you have installed on your Forest River Microlite 21FBRS by 50% due to moving the weight further away from the hitch which adds additional leverage to the weight. As long as the weight of the bike rack plus your bikes does not exceed 50% of the hitch rating you shouldn't have an issue with the hitch itself, but I do recommend reaching out to Forest River...

You can measure from your trailer hitch pin hole to the rearmost part of the tailgate when folded down and if it is less than 12-1/2" you will likely be fine without any interference, but I cannot guarantee it since we haven't tested it on a 2008 Honda Element yet. There's a simple solution which is just to use a 3 inch to 2 inch adapter sleeve and then a 2 inch hitch extender and you're set. So the best option is going to be the following: - Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" # e33YR - Trailer Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long # e88YR Just put the sleeves in to turn your 3 inch hitch into a 2...

If your 2023 Ford Bronco does not come with a receiver we do have the Draw-Tite # DT37GR which is specifically designed longer. Flat towing refers to pulling another vehicle with all 4 of its wheels on the ground, typically behind an RV.
