Built-In Rain Shield

MaxxFan Deluxe Rain Shield

The MaxxFan Deluxe has a built-in rain shield that, along with the dome, surrounds and encloses the vent opening. The shield blocks rainwater and other precipitation from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or trailer. This means you can run the fan during any weather without having to worry about the consequences. With the rain shield, there is also no need to install a separate vent cover.

The smoke dome on the rain shield is constructed of durable high-density polypropylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.

Variable-Speed Fan

MaxxFan Deluxe Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan operates in manual mode. You can choose from 4 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed.

This fan also exhausts stale air out of your RV. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Flush-Mounted Keypad

Keypad for MaxxFan Deluxe

The flush-mounted keypad on the vent enables you to operate the fan, including turning the fan on or off. You can also control the fan speed.

Manual-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Deluxe Open

The dome on this roof vent is constructed of durable high-density polyethylene, and it is translucent so that some natural light can shine through. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance that blends into the roof of your RV.

Unlike a dome that has only 1 arm, this manual-lift dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will not flutter during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome. Pull the knob outward, turn it to where you want it, and push it in to lock the dome into place.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Deluxe Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

Installation

The MaxxFan Deluxe vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The included mounting flange is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, first secure the mounting flange to the roof. Then connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Next insert the vent into the flange and fasten it down using the metal mounting points on the flange. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

Easy install, quiet, no rain gets in when open even with travel. Works great.

It is still spinning and quiet.

by:

Works Great! We're in the process of selling our small trailer (bought a small motorhome). The MaxxFan will be a great selling feature.

by:

I installed this myself on a vintage camper. It fit perfect in the space where the old vent was. Wiring was simple, and cutting down the bezel was easy. I have left this open for months and even in storms and no rain gets in. Being able to keep it open keeps the camper from getting musty. I also like the tinted skylight effect it gives.

by:

Work great, no problems with rain, snow or leaks. With solar panels we leave both fans on while Class A is unoccupied to keep humidity down and temperature cooler inside rig. We are very satisfied

Still works great, no issues. These fans are the best

by:

MaxxAir fan arrived on time. Installation was easy, just follow the enclosed instructions. Hardest part was removing the old vent, that takes the most time. Total time start to finish was about 3 hours.
Unit is good quality and workmanship. Very quiet running and easy to operate.

This fan really is whisper quiet we love it. Pat thank you for great customer service and follow up.

by:

Delivered as promised in fine shape. MaxxFan fit perfectly in existing 14X14 opening. Simple install and is functioning as designed.

This is the fan that should be initially installed in every new RV. On low speed you can’t even here it run. The volume of air that it can move is fantastic.

Excellent. Fantastic air flow and on low speed you have to look at the blades to see if it is operating. So quiet!

by:

Easy install with lots of information on how to install. I use this on my Ford E-150 and so far it has been fantastic. Works well in light to medium rain but downpours allow some water to splash in. Very quiet on lower speeds but a nice white noise sound at higher speeds.

by:

Excited to install for the Alaska summer

by:

This is the 3rd one that I have put in our trailers. Very easy to install. It really does move the air

by:

I live the ease operation of the fan as well as how easy they are to install. This is the 3rd Maxfan I've ordered from etrailer, they are great and will continue to do business with them.

Within a week after purchase the fan was rendered useless due to a very loud high-pitched squeaking sound on every speed setting. Not to doing some research I found that this is not a new issue and there's plenty of other people that have experienced the same. I contacted them and they said they would send me a new motor that I would need to install, I did not receive the motor until 3 months later causing me to have to delay a trip. I installed the new motor and am having the same issues. I cannot describe how disappointed I am having spent so much time and money now on this product. I live in a travel trailer and now I'm wearing ear plugs to sleep every night as the fan is my only way to regulate temperature.

I have contacted the manufacturer and they suggested that you should run the fan on high for 24hrs straight.

That sounds awful! I have contacted the manufacturer and they suggested that you should run the fan on high for 24hrs straight. This should get rid of the loud high-pitched squeaking sound.

by:

Added two of these to my travel trailer. Had to run electrical to both vent locations. These were well worth the effort to install. I can vent the hot air out of the trailer in about 30 seconds by running these fans with the side windows open. A great option for interior temperature control without having to run the AC. The fans can be noisy at the higher speeds but I usually run them effectively at lower speeds. I have been able to run these open in the rain with no issues. Love that they are low profile when closed during our travels.

Nice fan, very quire. Works great in my van.

Arrived exactly as promised, price better than all competitors. I am super happy

by: 02/14/2022

Great upgrade for our travel trailer. Our trailer only came with a vent in the living room, no fan. We replaced the vent with this MaxxFan Deluxe which is really awesome. The biggest hassle of the install was removing the old vent, but that was done in about 30 minutes. Use a plastic putty knife to slowly scrap the old LAP sealant away. Then slowly pull up the old vent or fan, again using a plastic putty knife to work away any butyl tape under the old vent/fan. Clean the roof with isopropyl alcohol. Then put new butyl tape under the MaxxFan flange, stick it down. Cover the edge with Dicor LAP sealant. Install the fan on top of the flange. Go inside and connect the wires. Then install the trim piece, trim if needed. Overall took me two hours and I was leisurely with a lunch break.

by:

the fan is very quiet, in fact I had to look to even make sure it was on. The hardest part was peeling the old butyl tape off and prepping the area for the new one. I like it a lot and it defiantly beats just a plain old vent.

Dale

IT HAS BEEN WORKING GREAT.

by:

Excellent upgrade! Easy to install aside from having to remove the old sealant. These fan have made a difference in ventilation for our 25’ Class C. They are high quality and have plenty of settings to suite our needs. Even at full speed, they are not as noisy as I would have expected. I highly recommend this product.

Still working like the day I installed these fans. I purchased one with the remote &amp one without. Definitely pay the few extra dollars for the remote version.

Easy install instructions....

I was pleased with the pricing and also pleased with the delivery schedule. It was right on time, which is very unusual in today's world. Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

  • Replacement Screw for a Manual Maxxair Locking Knob
From everything I could find, the screw should be the Replacement Locking Knob Screw for MaxxAir MaxxFan and MaxxFan Deluxe # MA10-21241K. However, this is specifically designed to fit the MaxxAir MaxxFan # MA00-04000K or # MA00A04301K or the MaxxFan Deluxe # MA00-06401K. This is due to the knob on these models being on the thick side and the screw needing to go fairly far up into the unit to get purchase. I included an image showing what I mean as well. With that being said, if you do...

I've installed more vents than I can count all to separate switches already built into the trailer or motorhome and not once had a single issue with voltage spikes. I have however ran into situations where the vent and another appliance were both ran to the same switch and had too high of a draw when both were being used at the same time, causing the circuit to overload. Running the vent with less than 12 volts is the more likely case for circuit board issues. When MaxxAir vents are turned...

You technically can use a powered roof vent like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-06401K however it is not recommended because the moisture can ruin the electronics. • What to Measure to Determine Correct Replacement Trailer Vent
What you need to do is measure the size of the opening on your trailer's roof, which you can do be removing the vent as well as the garnish around the vent. If you did this and only got 13-3/8" x 13-3/8" I highly recommend simply enlarging your roof opening to what is now the standard size of 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" as there are no vents which will fit into a 13-3/8" x 13-3/8" opening. That way you can choose from a new vent that is powered like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K...

While we have heard of people using electrical vents like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K above a tub/shower, it is not meant to be installed in that location because water from the shower (whether it is from steam or from someone dancing around while singing in the shower) can harm the electrical components and cause the vent to fail.
