Video Transcript for Review of Maxxair RV Vent and Fan Parts - Operator Mechanism - MA10-20281K-3CF

Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a quick look at the replacement Maxxair roof vent manual lift operator. This is going to fit several different models of the Maxxair roof vents including some deluxe and standard models. It does have the list of part numbers that this fits in the description on our product page here at etrailer.com, so definitely check that out.But basically, this is going to allow our handle in our enclosed trailer or an RV to turn that lifting mechanism to lift up our vent. That way we can let in some air, get some circulation going and keep everything nice and cool, let out the hot air, let in the good cold air and vice versa. If your vent or fan is cracked or damaged at all and you've got some water leakage, it's probably best to just replace the entire unit.

But if everything's working properly, and this is really the only issue is that it's just not lifting or closing anymore, this is going to be a much less expensive option as far as keeping everything working and instead of having to replace your entire unit, you can just replace this small mechanism to get everything working again. But if anything's damaged like your top cover's cracked, you're starting to get some leakage in there, you probably will want to just replace that whole vent unit because it's important to keep out any kind of water damage from your trailer. You don't want to get anything else inside your enclosed trailer dirty or anything like that or damaged. We have a lot of options available here at etrailer.com, if you want to pick one up. But that aside, if everything else is working just fine, this is definitely going to be an easy way to replace that and get you back out on the road, enjoying the cool air.It is an aluminum construction. It comes with that mounting hardware.

We'll have the two bolts and nuts that capture inside there to mount this in place. And then it'll also have the two holes to attach it into our system. The distance between those two at the bottom is about two and five-eights of an inch, center-on-center. The length of each of those hexagonal sides is about a quarter of an inch for each of those hexes. And then the length coming off here is about one and three-eights of an inch.

The instructions do have a list again, of what this is going to fit and then instructions for the various different models and how to get those taken out and replaced, so it makes it a little easier to do your install without having to do any guesswork. But that's going to do it for our look at the replacement Maxxair roof vent manual lift operator.

One year in, the part I ordered and the resulting repair have been highly successful.

by:

Ordered this part for a friend. Waiting to hear back on the installation.
It arrived on time as promised through the postal service. Good job etrailer.

by:

Still working good after 1 year.

by:

I think the service I always get from eTrailer is phenomenal. I generally do not complain about products and eTrailer cannot be blamed for carrying extremely low quality repair parts by manufacturer’s like MaxxAir. The MaxxAir roof vent manual lift operator is a shoddily made piece of garbage but it is necessary for the operation of the vent. At approximately $40 MaxxAir should be ashamed for the poor quality because I know few people who haven’t had this part self destruct. I would happily pay $100 for a duplicate part if it were machined from steel or aluminum. With the stress put on the mechanism by the spring which is part of the overall lift mechanism, pot metal castings are not going to hold up. It is only a matter of time until every one of these mechanisms will fail and need to be replaced.

by:

Mechanism worked fine, installation was difficult as previous mechanism was flush mount to bracket. This replacement lift operator had screw heads that protruded. I was able to modify the mounting bracket to accept the screw heads and enable flush mount.
4 stars due to modifications required.

Fit perfect and was the fix for my Maxxair fan that wouldn’t open. Piece of mind getting this from Etrailer.

by:

etrailer was super easy to access and order the replacement part for my broken (again) Maxxfan. They shipped the part immediately and delivery was quicker than expected, so quick I was able to make the repair before up coming camping trip! This is my first time using etrailer, they were great, I highly recommend. This is my 3rd time replacing this part, I am very dissatisfied with Maxxfan!

by:

Product fit perfectly and installed easily, vent works as it should. Old one came out in pieces and was only a couple of years old. Hopefully, this one is more durable.

by:

Very quick service/delivery. Have not yet installed, so I can't comment on quality of the product.

by:

I ordered this product and as always, etrailer was very quick to get it delivered! I haven’t installed it yet, to be able to talk about the workmanship of the part. But they were very quick getting me the part!

by:

The part arrived in a timely matter. Was easy to install and works perfectly

by:

Easy to install took less than 20 min (that includes climbing on to camper roof). Came with super easy step by step instructions. Make sure to save your screws and washers from previous lift operator as this product did not come with them.

by:

Product was exactly as advertised and what I needed!

by:

This part worked perfectly. It was easy to install too. I consider etrailer to be an exceptional vendor with quality parts, fair pricing, and tech support.

After a year it still working well. Very happy with this purchase. Thanks

This replacement part for my MaxxAir Roof Vent (manual version) fit my vent perfectly! I probably should order another one as a future spare, just in case the manual version becomes obsolete in a few years. I do like this MaxxAir Roof Vent and Fan, the fan is so quiet, I don’t even hear it running! I am very glad I was able to find this replacement part at etrailer.com, as I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Now I get to use my fan/vent again.

It was pretty easy to install, I used the pictures on etrailer.com to give me a quick tutorial on the best approach to replace the part. I probably should have taken my own pictures as well, but it was pretty easy, and I was done with the whole job in less than 30 minutes. You do have to get up on top of the trailer roof as part of the replacement activity, as well as inside the trailer, so be sure to prepared for that.

Quick turn around time and great customer service
