Video Transcript for Review of Maxxair - RV Vents and Fans,Enclosed Trailer Parts - MA10-20968

Today we're taking a look at a Replacement 12-Volt Variable Speed Fan Motor. This replaces the fan motor on your Maxxair MAXFAN RV roof vent. Again, it is a 12 volt DC variable speed motor. This works with a lot of different part numbers. To view all of those, you can check out this product's product page at etralier.com, and all the roof vent part numbers are listed for easy reference. I also have a print out, which I'll show you in a moment, for the video.

If you want to, you can pause the video and take a longer look at that sheet I'm gonna show you. But, it's a really nice construction. We have corrosion resistant finishing. It's gonna keep it safe from the elements. It's gonna keep it safe from rust and corrosion. We have a little sticker right here that shows us that our white wire is this side.

Black's on that side, and our wires are sealed right here as they feed into the motor housing. The wires run to this plug, so that way you don't have to hard wire anything. You can just simply plug it into the fans that this is- or excuse me, the roof vents that this motor's designed to work with. So, I'm gonna put that list up right here. You can see that.

We'll take a moment. These are all of the part numbers for the roof vents that this motor acts as a replacement motor for. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Replacement 12-Volt Variable Speed Fan Motor.

I was very happy, we had paid over $300 for the exaust fan and it was a major ordeal replacing it, and we just redid our rubber roof and didnt want to tear it up. We were glad to be able to find a motor compatible with our 10 speed bathroom fan

by:

My slide-in camper came with a roof fan that had issues from the get go. The replacement I ordered has been in my camper for two years now and runs like a champ.

by:

Great customer service! I really appreciated the email notifications as to status - from ordering, to picking the item, to packing and shipping, to expected delivery date. Also, I received the package in 3 days from placing the order. Fantastic!

by:

Product arrived promptly and is exactly what I needed. This fan motor replaces #10-04020, which Maxxair no longer has in their system.

by:

Great price

by:

Product as described. Quick shipping and great communication. I would definitely use etrailer again.

by:

I thought it unfortunate etrailers would not honor the price etrailer quoted at $[XX] charging me $[XX] instead of the lower offer.

by:

As always, the trailers, customer service is above excellent. They keep us so well informed about the product and arrival time. The products are always top notch. Also, I appreciate being able to connect with a customer service representative and find the product that I am looking for.

by:

One year later and still working great. I have the fan set on auto, so it comes on when it warms up in the trailer everyday and turns off when it cools down.

by:

I have had three of these fans and ALL OF THEM start squeaking after about 30 to 40 days of use. I would buy something else, but can’t seem to find an alternative. The unit is a closed system and not easy to clean or repair. Very disappointed with the durability, high cost, and performance of these units. I do not recommend.

by:

Used this to replace a blown motor on a MaxxAir Fan. It was the exact same motor and exact same connector.
If you are looking to replace the motor to stop the green light and beeping, make sure it's the motor first. Take the fan apart so you have access to the circuit board, turn the fan on and see if it beeps. Then unplug the fan from the circuit board and see if it beeps. If it beeps with the fan motor unplugged your circuit board is bad. If it beeps with the fan motor plugged in, your fan is bad.

by:

Installation was a piece of cake from the inside of the trailer. Fan motor works as expected. Delivery was ahead of schedule. Really satisfied with trailer!

eTrailer comes through again. New motor works like a charm, easy to install, fan is like new.

@Dave We're glad to hear that, thanks!

This is my third replacement motor. They work fine for a couple months and then they start the inevitable squeak. That squeak will increase over time, and eventually become unbearable and require replacement. I feel that a lot of these five star reviews come from people that don’t live in their van full-time. If you live in your van full-time, you’ll know what I’m talking about. You’ve probably replaced a few yourself.

To be honest we have had other reviews talking about the squeak that happens with the motor. We reached out to Maxxair and a possible solution is to run the new motor on high for 24 hours to break in the bearings. It has worked for other to diminish the squeaking.

by:

haven't installed this motor yet, but I want to leave 5 stars for etrailer's service. Great updates and responses and instructions from these folks. I'd rather buy products through them than anyone else.

I procrastinated replacing the fan’s motor because I thought it would be complicated. Finally replaced it about 4 months ago—it was easy! And it fixed the problem of the Maxxair fan running for a few seconds then stopping and beeping. Yay!

by:

Got great help when placing my order by phone

by:

I am now on my third Maxxair fan motor. Every motor develops an annoying squeak after about six months. The motor costs over half of the entire Maxxfan unit. This has become a very expensive fan! I tried to fix the squeak on the first motor following videos. Total nightmare. Squeak came right back. Bought second motor. Same thing. Did not attempt to repair. Just dealt with annoying squeak. Never went away. Just installed the third motor and sounds great. Just nervously awaiting the cycle to begin again. You need to maintain the motor. The brushes develop build up. No way to manually clean. It is a sealed unit. Bad design. Expensive. Not happy.

I know this sounds counterproductive but MaxxAir does recommend to run a new fan on high for 24 hours to break in the bearings. This is a common issue this trick has worked for a lot of owners.

by:

Exact replacement works great!

by:

Etrailer never disappoints. Exceptional all around.

Renee

These fans are just a nightmare to deal with. Third motor - two months after purchase annoying squeak is back. Please dont tell me to run it for 24 hours. Thats the best Maxx Air can recommend? Joke. Stay Away from this fan!

by:

Just the one I needed.

Theresa

After a year this fan is still going strong!

by:

Same as OEM, easy install, ad connections matched

by:

Still up and running quietly after one year. Original part was noisy but this one purchased at etrailer is fine. I no longer turn the fan on while the RV is on the highway, perhaps this was what damaged my original motor.

Paul

8/1/2022

The tic tic noise came back, but if you carefully remove the motor and open it you may clean the carbon brush build up. After that it work fine again. one day the brushes will need replacement and will need to decide if I change the motor or replace the brushes.

by:

Sent the new motor super quick and arrived on time, super grateful for their service, new motor works great.

by:

The motor arrived as scheduled. It's installed and working perfectly. Thankfully I did not have to replace my MaxxAir vent fan!!
