What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out, there's Gen Y ball mount. This is gonna be designed for the Phantom X adjustable ball mounts. It's gonna slide right in the receivers like the one you got with it. So it's gonna be good for replacing it or just getting a second one if you need a different size ball. Let's check it out.
Gonna be designed to work with the two inch by two inch receivers on the adjustable ball mount. Use the same pin and clip. Now that's not sold with it. You'll have to get that on the side separately. The same thing with the ball.
So you're gonna get just the mount here and you'll have to mount the ball there yourself. So if you need a, this one's a two inch one. If you need a two and five 16 inch one you can order that and put that on there. That way you can swap 'em out without having to remove the ball every time because this is gonna need to be torqued down completely. Now we gotta have it loosely put on there by hand just so I can show you today.
But something else I wanted to point out is make sure when you order the ball, whatever size you need you look at the diameter that it fits. So we wanna make sure it has an inch in diameter for this portion here, for it to go into place so you can add the lock washer and the nut and then torque it out in specifications. It's gonna be a sturdy steel construction with a black powder coat finish on there. So just like the one you had before just like the whole assembly it's not gonna rust or corrode if the elements get to it. If you leave it outside, it's gonna be fine.
The ball mount's gonna have a gross tow weight rating of 7,000 pounds. It's gonna have a tongue weight rating of 700 pounds. So just keep that in mind with what kind of truck and trailer combination you're gonna use it with. Overall works really well. Really easy to pin and clip it and adjust the height just like you could with the one that came with it. I like having a separate one. Just if you have two different trailers two different couplers, you're gonna have both set up and ready to go. That way you can get on the road faster. Well, I think that does it.
