Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement Gen-Y adjustable ball mount shank with the 15 inch drop for a two inch hitch. Has a 10,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this part here will replace the shank from your Gen-Y adjustable ball mount with the staff receivers. It uses a solid shank here that'll slide into your two inch hitch receiver that's on your vehicle, and you can see up front here it has the seven stacked two inch receivers, that'll let you mount a ball mount, a bike rack, or other hitch mounted accessories to your vehicle.
This does give you adjustable heights. So it lets you tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. This will work well if you have a lifted truck. And if you use a ball mount in it, the ball mount can be lowered or raised to match your application. Now, if you do put it in the deepest drop position, in other words, if you install the shank like this and then put your ball mount all the way down here at the lowest one, it'll give you a maximum drop of 15 inches.
This is a heavy duty steel construction. It is ideal for towing extra large loads. Does have a nice zinc primer and then a powder coat finish to resist corrosion. Now, when you do install this into the hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock for securing the shank to your vehicle. Those are not included.
We do sell those separately on our website. And these hitch pin hole diameters are five eighths of an inch. This is S A E J 6 84 certified. It is made in the USA. Few specs again.
The application is two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. Gross towing weight capacity is 10,000 pounds. Tongue weight capacity is 1500 pounds. Now one last thing I do wanna mention is this ball mount does have many different dimensions to it. So I do recommend for you to go to the product page of this part, and we do have a picture of this ball mount with all the dimensions on it, and it'll let you verify any dimension that may be needed for your application.
