Towing can be brutal, especially when your setup is outfitted with standard, metal-on-metal components. Steel and aluminum can only absorb so much vibration and chucking, so every time you hit a bump in the road, that shock gets transferred to the rest of your rig, leaving it vulnerable to wear and tear. Another unfortunate side effect is an uncomfortable ride for you and your passengers.

Protect your truck and trailer from road shock, vibrations, and rattling - and stay comfortable while you drive - with the shock-absorbing Curt RockerBall hitch ball.

Shock Absorbing ShockDrop Technology

Curt RockerBall with SockDrop Technology

The RockerBall hitch ball features Curt's innovative ShockDrop technology, which is engineered to suppress vibrations and rattling while you're towing. When you hit a bump, the ball compresses around the flexible, polyurethane core. This durable material absorbs excess shock at the coupling point so that it doesn't transfer from the truck to your trailer or vice versa. The result is increased control and comfort as you tow, as well as less wear and tear on your towing setup.

Premium Construction

Curt RockerBall Construction

This hitch ball is built to last with its forged steel construction and durable powder coat finish. The flexible, shock-absorbing polyurethane core withstands extreme heat for long-lasting performance, and the chrome-plated ball resists corrosion.

Curt RockerBall Zerk Fitting

The built-in zerk allows you to lubricate the isolator core when necessary, ensuring quiet and trouble-free operation.

High Quality Part. Easy to install. I would buy again for another vehicle.

P.S. etailer.com did a great job getting me this part. They processed & shipped this order immediately. I also appreciate that they made it easy to track the shipment. Thank You etrailer.com, I WILL be placing more orders from your company. Thanks again.

I just purchased a new hideaway hitch system. But the hitch sits only 15 inches off the ground at best. And, my trailer coupling is 22-23 inches off ground. So l needed 7-8 inches of rise on the new 1.25 inch receiver system.

Internet research took me to etrailer and the Brophy hitch. I got 5.5 inches with the Brophy hitch, the highest available for a 1.25 inch receiver I could find. The others are limited to 5 inches max. I added another 1.5 inches with your Curt shock absorbing hitch. Voila, with a combined 7 inches of rise and on level ground the trailer now rides perfectly level!!!! Both parts were very easy to connect.

Delivery was speedy. Thank you for saving the day and my investment in an expensive new hideaway hitch!

by:

Quality products. But the added height of this Curt shock absorbing rocker ball in combination with the 5-1/2” height Brophy bar, I still bottom out and scrape the inclined road to my house while towing my boat.

by:

Like most any lock they can be a little temperamental after being out in weather a while, but a shot of lock lube or WD40 takes care of that. "Training the lock to your given key is a breeze, and I definitely like the convenience of not having to try and recall which key is needed to use them!

by:

it was not packed well. it came in a Manila envelope without sufficient padding for such a heavy item. Labels all scratched up because of that. The item itself is good quality.

great service fast shipping

This hitch ball works great no slamming back & forth when stopping are starting. Just the right height for my F150 with a 4 inch curt drop receiver. I would definitely purchased again. Ran it with an unloaded trailer & a trailer with weight around 2500 lb. You want be disappointed in the purchase.

by:

I was in the market.
Looking for some
kind of dampening hitch.
But all the hitches I found We're over $300. I stumbled upon the Curt rocker ball . It was interesting to me so I had looked up some reviews on it. There wasn't any good reviews on it, but there also wasn't any bad reviews either.
So I decided to give it a shot,
Since it was pretty Inexpensive. Since then, I've had it for a year and a 1/2 now And it's been amazing.something so simple,That works very well. You won't notice it as much if the trailer already tows very well But the trailers that do a lot of jerking You will feel the difference.
A night and day difference.to me it reduced it by By 80%. Very good product!

by:

on our NEW Ram 1500 truck this ball helps reduce the trailer vibration that gets transferred into the truck. it definitely helps with a smoother ride.

by:

Greatest difference is felt with a full trailer vs empty. For reference, I haul a 3700 horse trailer and with one or two horses on board, this makes a noticeable difference in the reduction of ‘jolts’ when road seams, potholes are encountered. No noticeable difference when empty, but I am rarely empty. Good value for outcome.

by:

Works great in taking out the "jolt" when making quick stops and starts

by:

I received my order one day late but everything turned out good and I already tried out the ball hitch and lock assembly and seems to tow pretty good so far

by:

Drove from San Diego to Alaska - smooth ride w/trailer...

by:

Somewhat disappointed in Curt with this product and I have always been a big Curt fan. The first one of these I ordered was the listed 3" drop unit. The base of the rocker ball is almost 1 7/8" tall so on a 4 inch drop ball mount its really only a 2 inch drop hitch so be aware when ordering. I had to send the first back and reorder the larger drop unit. When I received the larger drop unit I put it in the receiver like many other hitches I have used and proceeded to properly torque the ball down. Because the rocker ball has a pivot point its very important that it stay parallel to the receiver. Curt includes a sheet metal plate that shims in between the ball mount and the ball to prevent it from turning. The plate is no where near strong enough though and at 224 ft/lb the plate bent and the ball rotated. After the plate is bent it is almost impossible to get he thing torqued down right and lined up.

by:

love using the rocker ball

by:

Kimberly, our Sales rep, was incredibly patient and amazing and guided us through our options and availability. The products arrived on time and as expected. In a world of choices you all went above and beyond any expectations.

by:

Received product before due date however, both our WD Hitches do not have the standard piece to allow the Anti-Rotation Plate to be useful. Pictures attached.
Checking with etrailer to see what can be done before modifying either the ball or the hitches. Only other issue was packaging, it was well packed on bottom side but not on top which allowed the product to distort the box it was shipped in but it did come fully in tact with no visible harm. Mentioning this for future delivery of such items.

by:

This all-in-one kit does everything it promises to do. I wish I'd learned about it sooner.

by:

Changed over from the conventional Ball. Noticeable difference after installing Rockerball. Makes the ride quieter and when braking no noises and no trailer play when braking or accelerating. recommended Product.

by:

Good idea, though actual towing feels chaotic. Pulling a 4,500 pound camper trailer with a F150 - Max Tow Package and this hitch causes the trailer to surge back and forth when braking, accelerating and/or rolling over bumps in the road. I don't know if my hitch is defective or not, but I will not be using this hitch anymore. The other issue is, when torquing the ball hitch to the specified 450 ft/lbs - the flanges that are supposed to hold the ball in place bent and I had to find an alternative to secure it from turning.

  • How Much Rise Does Curt Rockerball Give Ball Mount
The Curt Rockerballs like the part # C94CR add 1-1/2 inches of height compared to a standard ball so if you used this with a ball mount that has 2 inches of rise like the # C45270 that you referenced you'd effectively have a 3-1/2 inch rise. So for the amount of rise that you want your best option would be the part # C40047 for a Rockerball since it has a 1 inch shank diameter and then the Brophy ball mount # BM20 which has a rise of 3/4 inches. This would get you really close to what...

  • Curt RockerBall for 2015 BMW 328xi Wagon
Yes, the Curt RockerBall # C94CR meets your needs of a 2" Hitch Ball. This has a 3/4" Diameter Shank that is 2-1/8 Inch in length. If you need a drawbar for your 1-1/4" hitch I suggest the Curt Class II Drawbar # C45521.

  • Shock Absorbing Solution for Towing Lightweight Trailer with Class II Hitch Receiver
For your application I recommend checking out the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball which comes with a 3/4" diameter shank as part # C94CR or with a 1" diameter shank as part # C40047. This unique hitch ball absorbs the shock at the connection between the hitch ball and ball mount which is perfect for a lighter application like what you have. Please note that the mounting platform on your ball mount must be at least 3/8" thick and the hole size must not be more than 1/16" larger...

  • Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Ball For 800LB Trailer Pulled by 2010 Subaru Forester 2" Receiver
I have a recommendation as the 3,500lb Curt RockerBall # C94CR is only designed to be used with 1-1/4" Class I and II ball mounts. Since you already have 2" draw bars/ball mounts you can use the 7,500lb Curt RockerBall # C40047. This will fit your 2-1/2" wide mounts. This will work with your trailer even though it is only 800lbs. Do not be overly concerned with the weight ratings as these are maximum weight ratings and the reason the other RockerBall is so low at 3,500lbs is the 3/4"...

  • Recommended Ball Mount To Get 6" Of Rise For a 2015 Chrysler 200 Class I, 1-1/4" Receiver
Currently our Curt Drawbar # C45028 has the most rise available for a 1-1/4" Class I receiver like that you would have on your 2015 Chrysler 200. The rise is 5-3/8" from the receiver. To get slightly closer to your 6" rise you can use a Curt Class I Drawbar # C45025 with a Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C94CR. The ball mount has a rise of 5" and the RockerBall sits 1-1/2" higher than a traditional 2" ball. As long as your trailer accepts a 2" ball this would give you...

  • Solution for 1-1/4" Ball Mount With 7" Rise for 2016 Honda CRV-EX Towing U-Haul Trailer
The 1-1/4" receiver does limit you but I have a solution to achieve a 7" rise for a ball mount. You do not want to use an extension since it will cut your capacity in half which means you wouldn't be able to tow that trailer. What you need is the Brophy Anti-Rattle Drawbar # BR39FR. This only has a 5-1/2" rise, but you can combine it with the Curt RockerBall # C94CR. The ball sits 1-1/2" taller than your standard hitch ball with the shock absorbing base. It also uses a 2" ball which is...

  • Does Curt RockerBall C94CR Have More Cushion Than Curt RockerBall C40047
The 3,500 lb capacity Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C94CR (40246) does not have a softer cushion than the 7,500 lb RockerBall # C40047. The cushioning is the same and the difference between these two is the capacity, of course, as well as the shank size. The RockerBall # C94CR has a 3/4" diameter shank (so that's the size ball mount hole they fit) and the # C40047 has a 1" diameter shank. As for # C40047 and 40247, they are exactly the same. I believe Curt uses different...

  • 1-1/4" Ball Mount Capable of 7" of Total Rise With 2" Ball
I have a solution for you to be able to get to 7" of total rise. The Brophy Anti-Rattle Drawbar # BR39FR is a 1-1/4" ball mount that will give you 5-1/2" inches of rise. That is the largest rise that I have been able to find. You can couple that with the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C94CR. It will fit the 3/4" hole in the Brophy ball mount. The ball does sit 1-1/2" taller than a traditional hitch ball thanks to the shock absorbing mechanism. This will also give you...

  • Do Curt Rockerballs of Different Weight Capacities Have Similar or Different Dampening
The dampening is different between the higher and lower rated Curt RockerBalls. Based on your trailer being lighter I'd recommend the part # C94CR that you mentioned even though the roads you plan to travel on are rougher. This will give you the smoother ride quality over the higher rated option.

  • Availability of a 2" Trailer Hitch Ball With a 3/4" Diameter Shank With a Rise
The Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C94CR is going to be the only 2" diameter ball we carry with a 3/4" diameter shank which has any rise. The shock absorbing base adds 1-1/2" to the height of the hitch ball. If this will not work for you I can recommend a different ball mount with either a larger diameter hole to fit the 1" shank for the 2" Hitch Ball # C40034 you found. Or with a different rise/drop to use a standard hitch ball. I will need to know what size ball mount...

  • Calculating Rise/Drop Ball Mount to Use with Curt Rockerball Hitch Ball
So the Curt Rockerballs like the # C94CR sit about 1-1/2 inches taller than standard balls. And most rise/drop calculations are measured at the base of the ball and not the top so that changes the 16 inch height to be right around 14 inches for how our ball mounts are organized/measured. So then subtract the 1-1/2 inches of the Rockerball puts the height instead at 11-1/2 inches which is right at the 11 inches of your hitch opening. So that would mean you'd want a rise of right at 1/2 inch...
