Nick was very helpful and helped me decide which hitch would work best for me. Hitch arrived on time and was a very heavy hitch that should do anything I need it for.

Got this to carry our electric bikes between the motorhome and tow vehicle. Works great.

by:

Have approached several RV an Tow experts for a solution to a car/motorcycle tow combination for months. Came across Etrailer on the Internet, and “asked their expert” for a suggestion. They suggested a heavy duty dual receiver that was substantial enough to accommodate any tow combination requirements. Their advice was “dead-on” right, and I ordered the parts and they were delivered a few days later.

Their expertise is excellent, as is the ease of doing business with them. I can enthusiastically recommend this organization, and the professionals working with them!

Looks like an extremely well built product. Glad I made the choice I did in buying this ball mount.

  • Can Dual Receiver and Hitch Extender Be Used Together For Towing with a Bike Rack
It would be too dangerous to use the Curt Extender # C45796 with a dual receiver like that as it would put too much movement on all of the different parts and extenders like this cut your tongue weight in half so your Tacoma would be overloaded. Instead I recommend checking out the following parts to see if this will potentially work for your scenario: - Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-304 - Thule Camber Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # TH9056 - Hidden Hitch Ball...

  • Does the Use of a Dual Hitch Adapter Reduce Tongue Weight Capacity
You are correct, the use of an adapter typically reduces the tongue weight capacity by 50%, but the amount can vary slightly. Since you are towing a trailer, you do not want to use the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6 since it is designed for flat towing. As for the other dual hitch adapters available, I checked and they all reduce capacity by 50% so that would leave you overloaded. I do, however, have a solution. I recommend using the Replacement Shank...

  • Gen Y Replacement Shank on 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Towing Travel Trailer
The Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-303 is a great option for lowering the ball mount for your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. This shank is rated for 10,000lbs which is well below the 6,000lbs of your travel trailer. The one thing that I want you to consider is you said you have a 5" Lift. Does that include or exclude any larger tires that may have also been installed. If it doesn't include the tires you might want to consider the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable...

  • Can I Use the Thule Arcos Enclosed Cargo Carrier w/ a Dual Ball Mount?
Yes, you can if you use something like the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount item # 325-GH-304. This ball mount will not reduce your hitches capacity like adapters do. If you already have one and would like me to verify it will work feel free to email me back with some information about yours. You will most likely not be able to open the Thule Arcos Enclosed Cargo Carrier item # TH25YE while you have a bike rack installed above it is the only conflict I can see you encountering...

  • How to Carry a Bike Rack and Tow a Trailer At the Back of a Tow Vehicle
What you're wanting to do can be accomplished, but we'll need to get you some different equipment because you never want to use 2 adapters, and from my experience all of the dual receiver options using the style you're showing in your diagram, similar to the Malone # MPG544, will actually reduce the weight ratings by 50% instead of 25%. (plus each accessory that reduces the weight rating will be reducing the original weight rating of the hitch - not the "new" weight rating achieved by using...

  • How to Carry Bikes Between Motorhome and Towed Vehicle
Carrying bikes while using a tow dolly can be a bit tricky since the rear of your towed vehicle will be angled down so instead I recommend using the Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-304 in the rise position and then using the lowest receiver for your tow dolly and the highest receiver for a bike rack like the Thule Range # TH9057 to carry your bikes between the motorhome and tow dolly. To be able to haul your Saris bike rack and your rear cargo carrier at the same time The Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-304 will get the job done. This carrier has a 7-1/2 inch drop and has a tongue weight up to 1,500 pounds. I recommend checking your vehicle's manual to double check the proper tongue weight capacity for your 2011 Toyota 4Runner. • Can Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter be Used for Towing and a Bike Rack
You are on the right track of thinking, but the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 actually isn't rated for towing a trailer so we need to look at a slightly different with the Gen-Y Hitches. For your application you could probably use part # 325-GH-303 or # 325-GH-304 as these are somewhat similar to the Roadmaster that you were previously looking at and they are definitely rated for towing and utilizing your bike rack. • Dual Hitch Receiver Recommendation for a Bike Rack and Tow Dolly
For your application I recommend using the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-304 because it's one of the few options that allow you to use a bike rack and tow dolly (most of them are for a bike rack and flat towing). The Gen-Y has stacked receivers so you can have your bike rack installed in the highest position (with the receivers stacked going up from the shank) and then you can attach a ball mount or use the Dual-Ball # 325-GH-031 for the tow dolly.

Since you're unable to use the hitch at the back of your 2018 Winnebago Micro Minnie I recommend checking out the Gen-Y Hitch Replacement Shank # 325-GH-304 along with the Swagman Current Bike Rack # S64678. The Gen-Y has a 7-1/2" rise and then the Current has an additional 8-1/2" of rise so the platform of the rack will sit about 16" above the hitch receiver on your vehicle. Hopefully this gives you enough rise to clear anything on the tongue of your trailer. Attached are some videos...

If you were using the # RM-316 the only way the lock would fall off is if it wasn't properly seated on the hitch pin when installed. • Is There an Option to Lower the Trailer Hitch Receiver for Motorcycle Carrier Use?
There really isn't an option to lower your hitch 6 inches and carry 400 lb motorcycle with carrier. The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6 is the strongest option with a 400 lb tongue weight capacity that doesn't account for the weight of the carrier, so is not a working option. Adapters simply are not strong enough for the tongue weight you are seeking. Your best option is to use the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 7-1/2" Drop/Rise...

  • Can Gen-Y Ball Mount 625-GH-304 Be Used With Cargo Carrier and Bike Rack At The Same Time?
You sure can! Gen-Y has told us in the past that their shanks like the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 7-1/2" Drop/Rise - 10K # 325-GH-304 you were looking at can be used with multiple accessories at the same time as long as you do not exceed the tongue weight rating of the ball mount or the trailer hitch receiver on your 2018 Infiniti QX60. I included a video of the # 325-GH-304 for you to take a look at.

All 4 receiver tubes on the # 325-GH-304 shank are indeed usable, including the top most one. You could even use more than one receiver, but you'll need to abide by either the 1500 lb tongue weight capacity of the shank or the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on your vehicle, whichever of the two is lower.
